If by better we mean improvement of quality, then no. But by all means it is an improvement over having needless filler take up the same time space dedicated to throwaway gags and whatnot.

It is better in context of a show that currently draws out any crowd reactions for the sake of filling a 24min time slot.

that is more of an issue with the current format of the show, for example: if we got 6 episode that covered 4 manga chapters each we would then have to stand about 24 or more episodes of half chapter episodes. which is why i think one piece either needs to take a break, do some filler arcs or die (and start from scratch to have a better paced anime from beginning to end) which won't happen so we have to deal with it and thank the one pace team for what they do

i never said using two chapters is worse for the pacing than using one, but cramming a bunch of chapters doesn't make a good pace (sometimes a single chapter can hold out for an entire episode and sometimes you need 5+)

Note: And it was only a couple of chapters lost in the process, 3 & 4 to be exact. The rest is wonderfully adapted IMO. Aswell as the rest of the series, not changing the original story as the first adaptation (CHANGE is the main kind of filler that destroys a series, but not the only one. One Piece is again an example of that with EXTENSION).

yes, we lost a couple chapters, had horrible character introductions (first episode of fmab shows mustang being a baby that cant do anything) and didnt even fix the first chapter (by giving us yet another different version of lior) it was good after the original branched off into its own story but at least they didn't ruin the pacing (by making a different story instead of making a bunch of filler) and you still have to see the original fma to understand a lot of it (i know because some of my friends watched brotherhood by itself and didn't understand it) so i would call that a bad adaptation.

again, i never said one piece had good pacing, but cramming a bunch of manga chapters/pages won't make it better

this definitely shows that you don't understand what a good pace is, if a show would go flying through every emotional scene and into the action showing every manga panel for one second it would be horribly paced.

I never said the pace is currently good, but it wasn’t terrible at first (also more pages per episode does not make a better pace) some people complain about the anime being too far behind the manga (because most people don’t understand the issues with an anime that is caught up with the manga) and toei wants to make money.
Do i want a brotherhood style one piece? No, the pace for fmab’s original 10ish episodes is so fast that it becomes horrible.

About the anime, One Piece is by far one of the worst adaptations ever (maybe only the ones that CHANGE the original story are worse; i.e. Fullmetal Alchemist, Soul Eater… Fortunately, FMA: Brotherhood came to fix the first one :D).

Back to the "pacing" issue... One Piece was "not bad" at the beginning of the series. Goes to "very bad" about Skypiea and became "the worst thing ever" afterwards. Usually only 1 chapter per episode (WTF with this joke!) or even worse (half a chapter or less per episode). TOEI can't troll us more xD

Oh, well. They decided to use this kind of filler (EXTENSION) and the adaptation will never be good again.
Not sure if we can hope for a future remake, ala FMA:B... One Piece is damn too long xD
But you can keep your fingers crossed ^ ^

fma isn't saved by fmab it just continued what the other left unfinished because without fma we would have boring character introductions plot twists revealed in the first episode and important elements being glossed over (fma is only a good adaptation if it is combined with the first 20ish episodes).

one piece only suffers from pacing after the timeskip and at skypiea (but many passing issues in skypiea were also in the manga) and it didn't become terrible until fishman island (that would be completely ignoring water 7 and enies lobby).

some people might prefer the anime only episodes because they prefer short stories over a long narrative which is what one piece focuses on.

I was going to say that the original comment was rude but he has a point, most of the major arc plot points were spoiled in the preview and I find it extremely unprofessional (if you are an anime-only watcher do not watch the preview as it contains some heavy manga spoilers), though the rest of the episode was amazingly edited well done.
