I like the little comparison between Newgate/Ace & Kaido/Luffy here.
Not sure Luffy will end up calling him pops after some late night assassination attempts though.

RE: Ducktales- new series! Woohoo!
That was amazing. Phenomenal episode on all accounts.
"Don't drink this water." Hahahaha my god Launchpad. -
RE: Ducktales- new series! Woohoo!
Webby and Louie having some time as a duo ? Great episode.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Looks like some major Duck comics characters are coming in Season 2 as well with John D. Rockerduck and Fethry Duck.
Not that much of a surprise about John D. Rockerduck since he's a huge part of the european comic books but Mark Beaks was filling this role so well that I honestly didn't expect a need for John.
Can't wait to see that. -
RE: Ducktales- new series! Woohoo!
This is a show where every new episode is my new favorite episode.
-
RE: Ducktales- new series! Woohoo!
Another great episode, so happy with this show.
And yeah Mark Beaks is pretty much to me a new version of John D. Rockerduck. Which is clever and great. -
RE: Channel Awesome, AVGN, and other web review shows
Larry makes his living with facts and is pretty thorough. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, and good on Brad if it's true.
I really don't know him so I'm glad to read that, thanks Shift.
And yes, indeed. -
RE: Channel Awesome, AVGN, and other web review shows
Guru Larry just posted a Twitter heavily implying that Brad has decided to quit (though it's not 100% confirmed)
Yeah rumors are here and I hope this Larry guy isn't posting stuff without being somehow sure, that would be kind of terrible.
Anyway, Irwing from the Cinemasnob team said that he doesn't know what Brad will do but kinda confirmed he was in a very tuff situation with all that (he also said that the CA response was horrible so… There's that). -
RE: Channel Awesome, AVGN, and other web review shows
Woooow, there really are just 4 contributor links left.
In fact, 2. And one is only staying for the fun of being the last one.
As for Brad, who knows (well, I know I really -really- like him and he sure is in one horrible situation at the moment). -
RE: Channel Awesome, AVGN, and other web review shows
Apparently there's only Brad and Guru Larry now (edit: Gaming Wildlife have confirmed they're leaving, and Blockbuster is leaving according to Linkara)
And Guru Larry is only staying for the fun of being the last one (which is… Meh). So basically only Brad remains.... And Brad just removed CA tags from his Twitter.

RE: What are you Playing?
I just bought both the OST and the B-Sides album on Bandcamp (and paid more than the ask for both). I'd consider paying again for a physical release if it comes with a complete track list.

RE: What are you Playing?
@CCC:
Thanks for the tips! I'll have to keep plugging away at this one then.
…Though Celeste is demanding my attention at the moment :PYou're welcome, have fun !
And yeah, that's why I focused on 100%+ Iconoclasts before even touching Celeste. I knew that one would kept me away from Robin (my Wonder Girl!) too long hahaha. -
RE: What are you Playing?
@CCC:
A few questions.
! -Did you find a use/way to access that door in One Concern West (deep in a dark room) that asks you present a White Ticket?
-Is there a way to save Royal on the moon?
-Any use for those key items that look like scraps of paper that you find on dead bodies of the tower teens scattered around the world?
! I finished the game too (and enjoyed it; currently working on 100%ing the maps) but there's a lot that feels…undone, somehow.! - That's one of the side quests. You want to speak with a soldier in Isilugar first.
- Unfortunatly… No. This is depressing as hell, and what's worst, the timing escape is THAT generous only for you to think there IS something to do, try, and only reach the conclusion that there is no way to save him. I felt bad. Really really bad. And right after killing Black !
! At first I thought that maybe depending on dialogue choices you make previoulsy, you might save him somehow but it appears this isn't working that way.
:(- Another side quest. I don't want to spoil you too much about it but let's say you need 4 of those scrap papers =)
! Loved this game, loved the characters, the gameplay, and the story is pretty damn good, mostly after completing the game, you complete the whole puzzle in your head and it's kinda fascinating. Agent balck past... Hash... Who really is this God they all worship. Also loved that Robin has to faced her own demons before the final battle !
! Also the humour, between the henchmen being hilarious and Mina's slow clap at one point haha. Good share of laugh before slowly going into tragedies...
! A game entirely made by one guy ! Congratulations Joakim Sandberg.Highly recommended game. And Celeste is great too yeah, pure pleasure. Currently on The Red Strings Club, loving it. 2018 starts strongly.

RE: Random News Article Discussion II
yeah, just checked. The figure seems to be around 10%.
8.49% (and about 3% of invalited votes).
Absentation was 25%, which is too high, saddly, but those voters would never have chose Marine anyway.
They were people wanting another person against her (like Melechon) (for at least 10% of them) (the rest jut never vote).http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4481138/Le-Pen-s-father-suggests-unfit-president.html
He did say to vote for her,but still says she is unfit for presidency
Oh, that ? Of course he would say that just hours before the elections when the dice are cast. He's a massive troll. He's always been. That's all what he's about. Politically he would never have say that before.
- Nobody more than himself knows how much he, himself, never fitted to presidency. In fact, that never was is goal. He's all about his connections and the money that come with it.
So when the much hated daughter is just about to fail (where she -on the contrary- always believed she can grab the seat) that goal, he's delighted to have a good laugh about it. And with reasons, judging how suprisingly bad she managed the last two weeks. She could very well have scored a 45%.
What's ironic is she failed spectaculary because she went full Jean Marie mode. She annihilated in a few days all what she did in 6 years, all this "I'm not my father" image. A lot of people who were hesitant about this finally thought "Ok, fuck this."
Now what's interesting is that he spent a lot of years and efforts to create his grand daughter Marion (who was the perfect equilibrium monster between Jean marie and Marine), so her defection for the time being should be fun to observe on that account.
- Nobody more than himself knows how much he, himself, never fitted to presidency. In fact, that never was is goal. He's all about his connections and the money that come with it.
-
RE: Random News Article Discussion II
Marion is quitting politics though, right?
Yup. And that's, precisely, a real clever move.
Aunt and party in trouble now and in the short term, she does not want to be a part of this mess. She quites with "good" reasons ("my daughter", "my aspiration to work like everybody", "blablabla"), all while never saying it's definitive and keeping a true and strong base and admirers. Hell, this decision will make her look even more good than ever.
Then she comes back. You know, like the savior. Betting of Macron not getting a popular presidency, and she'll have plenty of "good" things to say. "I WAS the people, I worked like the people, I know what the people want, i wasn't part of all the messy intrigues, and now I'm back only because I felt it was my duty to respond the call, to save our country, I didn't ask fot this, but blablabla…"She's blond fake Stannis.

RE: Random News Article Discussion II
The most interesting thing i find in the French election is that almost a quarter of the votes are said to have been blank, ewhich would really make the 65% voting figure not that significant.
No. Not a quarter at all. 8%. And even if the blank votes were to be counted, Macron still would had more votes than most of the previous Presidents. Exception being Chirac in 2002, who was against… Jean Marie Le Pen.
Speaking of whom, I don't recall him to ever said that his daughter would be a bad choice for President. He said last week that he was going to vote for her.
Sure the two are in conflict. He's really not happy about her being president... Of their party. And if she's nowhere near Trump kind of stupidity, a good look a her program or/and her televised performances are enough to know she's facelpalm worthy.
She's catastrophic. To the point where a LOT of her base is really not happy with her (that's saying a lot). I'm pretty certain she has no clue about how to rule a country. Which is not far away to Trump "Ouh, that's harder than I thought."
That being said, she can be clever. Sort of.
Her niece Marion is much more clever than her, though… A potential real threat to come. -
RE: The "Shueisha" Thread
@mario:
i remember one piece volume used to do 4 million so easily
I don't think that ever happened. 4 millions printed, yes.
I could be wrong thought. -
RE: Toriko III: It's Over!!
Thinking about it, I feel like Toriko went downhill after the time-skip.
I still regard the Gourmet Soup arc as one of the most exciting and imaginative visually shonen arc that I read these past few years. Everything was great, Tommyrod being the epitome.
That was very good shonen.
Aftermath-healing arc was nice too.Surprisingly it's right after that I started losing interest. Zebra arc was okey I guess but not so much, Starjune didn't appeal at all to me, and I think it's the casino stuff that made me drop it.
But that soup arc ? Fabulous.

RE: Chapter 840: "Iron Mask"
I'm just gonna say this: Judge is the One Piece equivalent of Tywin Lannister.
I'd say he's mostly Randyll Tarly.

RE: It's the TeamFourStar Thread with DBZ Abridged and Pokemon things
Well, maybe you (he) can count Cell x2 (present+futur).

RE: Bleach Discussion █: Soul Society, but not!
ending in issue 36/37, in the same month as it debuted 15 years ago.
You know, the idea of Kubo deciding to end his story just for its 15th anniversary regardless of pace, execution, plots, whatever, but just because it would be so cool and good writing is… So stupid it may be the case.(I'm not serioulsy thinking it is the case) (i'm not) (... Maybe a little)
-
RE: One Piece Film Gold (July 2016)
@Rolor:
Is there any screening of the movie planned in France ? I didn't follow any news so sorry if it' was already asked.
Yup, some screening this month and a national release for fall.

RE: Random News Article Discussion II
Thanks everybody for all kinds words and thoughts.
It's been an horrible, horrible night, and won't be over until I know where are all my people, but all this kindess, and all the solidarity I witnessed during chaos makes all that nightmare somewhat… Easier to live throught. Thanks

RE: One Piece and Eiichiro Oda enter in Guinness World Records
Oh, I should specify than Tex's 500M are done with various authors since the 40's. Like the X-Men, Superman, or whatever else, it shouldn't be considered as the same thing as OP, at all.
(even if Tex is one serie, where the mutants and friends are not)Tintin's sales: http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2003/nov/19/education.highereducation
Asterix: http://www.lefigaro.fr/medias/2013/10/24/20004-20131024ARTFIG00095-asterix-le-plus-grand-succes-de-l-edition-francaise.php
Peanuts: http://www.nytimes.com/learning/general/onthisday/bday/1126.htmlOf course there are some very successfull Manhua with impossible to track sales, but I doubt they surpass OP ones.
As for Hergé being the sole author of Tintin, the source is every bookshelf :)
-
RE: One Piece and Eiichiro Oda enter in Guinness World Records
the Tintin series is not all created by a single artist, i.e. Hergé
That's… Not true. Hergé did all Tintin's adventures himself, the last volume haven't even been finished - even less published- since Hergé died.
It sold a little more than 200M, yes. Where Asterix and Peanuts are aound 350M each (Asterix is not write and draw by any of the original autors since 2 volumes now)
I think Tex, an italian fumetti, have sold around 500M exs this days.
And I do wonder how much Carl Barks Ducks stories have been sold since 1942. -

RE: The One Piece Music Thread
Can anyone point me in the direction of the track that plays when Sanji and Jabra's fight first starts up in episode 298? Specifically when they clash while Jabra is performing one of his Iron Body Kenpo techniques.
Zoro is inside there, track #12 from Movie 05 OST.
