I'm happy with the ending. It wasn't the smoothest but the resolution made the most sense, a shame translations stopped for a while but I don't mind a quick binge

! So Sinbad went after people's free will?
! I imagine once the 'spell' is undone the whole world will come crashing down on him. Distorting facts, misinformation, even coercion are all less evil than what it appears he is doing. -
RE: Chapter 838: "Bropper"
Unless Luffy still has something under his sleeve, or Cracker has a weakness that gets exposed, there is no hope.
And Doflamingo doesn't look so impressive now. Guess that's just the difference between Yonkou and their high ranking crew compared with every other pirate.

RE: Bleach Discussion ā: Soul Society, but not!
There better be a point to breaking Ichigo's sword over and over gain.

RE: Chapter 832 "Germa Kingdom"
Wasn't so thrilled with this Chapter, although Carrot was awesome. I wonder if Electro is hereditary or just a well guarded secret. The Minks certainly know how to keep secrets.

RE: Seven Deadly Sins
I liked the Mjolnir touch they added to the Divine Axe Rhitta. Since Escanor reverts to a shell of himself at night, and that not many can lift let alone wield it, he likely just has to leave it in place. Being able to summon Rhitta is the only thing that would make practical sense.
I want to know more about how Rhitta works. Does it store energy passively over time? If so, is there a limit to the amount of energy stored at the time, and does Escanor have to release all of the stored energy at once? It looked like Rhitta was 'charging' from Escanor at that moment, but I'm going to guess that it also used previously stored energy for such a powerful attack otherwise it'd be pretty broken under normal (daylight) circumstances.

Where was Carrot in this chapter?ā¦ She was in the color page last week and practically everyone else chimed in to volunteer but her.
Stowaway perhaps?

RE: Chapter 820: Dog and Cat have a history
@sanji''s_dad:
momo was not even born yet his dad met and sailed with him.
He specifically stated "I too met the acquaintance of this Roger. But I do not remember it very well". Usopp questioned how that would even be possible given his age and when Roger presumably died, but Nekomamushi closed the conversation before that could be answered. http://readms.com/r/one_piece/820/3297/12
-
RE: Chapter 820: Dog and Cat have a history
So how did Momonosuke meet Roger? If he was mistaken I'd expect them to correct him, but it looked as if Nekomamushi started laughing to get off that subject and didn't want to say anything right now "Lord Oden's adventures are truly a rich tale! One day we shall tell it in it's entirety".

RE: Chapter 818: In The Whale
@sanji''s_dad:
The thing i don't get is if he could read them and they also had Roger's voice of all things to hear what they said how is Robin going to get anything different from them like Roger's right hand was talking about on sa before the timeskip.
He must have joined the crew on Wano but why he not contact Shank's for help is a bigger question you would think that Shanks would have visited him.
Why would Robin need to get a different message from the Poneglyph's though? Roger successfully made it to Raftel as far as we know so ideally, she needs to decipher the same message.
Well I don't think Kaidou gave Oden much of a chance if he resorted to boiling him alive. He seems like the kind of guy to just stumble into an area and mess it up on a whim. It's also not that simple to ask Shanks to war with Kaidou. Furthermore it's not clear if Shanks even knew Oden, if we're assuming Oden joined Roger shortly before going to Raftel, and that Shanks hasn't been there (as far as we know), it's likely Oden didn't think to ask or Shanks' help. But I prefer to think he just didn't have the opportunity.

RE: Chapter 818: In The Whale
@Long:
Agree with you there, also since Ace went there, he might have a friend there who assists the strawhats there or something, im a big ace fan so it might be a bit of a dream but it'd tie luffy into the story in an interesting way if someone knew his brother there and said person was an ally
I think that's very plausible given how things have developed recently. They will likely need an ally who's currently on the inside. Things might have changed since Kaidou took over and intel is always great to have on the enemy.

RE: Chapter 818: In The Whale
After going over this chapter again, I got to thinkingā¦
Not only were those from Ohara the only people (in recent times) to be able to read the Poneglyph's, but with them being scattered in obscure places and kept hidden by those that live by them, it certainly validates just how hard it is to reach Raftel.
The Minks have kept this red Poneglyph quite a secret as even Jack did not know to look inside the whale for Raizou. I'm sure very few people, not even Big Mom or Kaidou, are aware of what is written on the Poneglyph's they now have, so they aren't even aware of the significance of the red Poneglyph's and their relation to one another.
Aokiji is a huge X-Factor in all of this in my opinion as he has a high chance of having been privy to the significance of the Poneglyph's since he was an Admiral and part of the force that exterminated the scholar's of Ohara. While I'm certain he can't read the Poneglyph's, even if he knew that the red Poneglyph's point to Raftel or that the Poneglyph's hold the secrets to Raftel, and he divulged these secrets to someone someday - Blackbeard? - then Nico Robin would immediately be hunted down.
I also wonder who is aware of the Wano Poneglyph. It's obvious how the Minks are aware, but I assume they kept it a well hidden secret as Wano was not part of the World Government and implied to be a secluded, secretive nation. After the events on Zou it seems even more apparent that Wano kept the Poneglyph a well guarded secret as not only was Kozuki Oden fully aware of their significance, but died protecting the secrets of his journey with Gol D. Roger to Raftel. The Shogun's death seems to have been fairly recent, and I assume many would have tried to infiltrate Wano if it Oden's relation with Roger or the red Poneglyph were well known.
I guess a big question I'm left with is when did Oden join Roger's crew and how much or how little did the WG know about Oden's affiliation with Roger and journey to Raftel? If Oden joined Roger towards the end of his journey, as part of the final stages to get to Raftel, it's possible not many people knew him as part of Roger's crew and would have been successful in staying hidden all this time... Perhaps Kaidou, or one of his crew, remembered Oden which then led to his death when he wouldn't tell them what they wanted to hear. This is all theory though.
@Long:
Since ace was in wano while on WB's ship, does this mean whitebeard knew about this poneglyph? I mean if it was kaido's territory then i doubt ace just is able to make hat in peace and if he had a relationship with the kouzuki and/or minks he should at least have one,
I think it's safe to assume that the events that took place on Wano, with Kaidou killing Oden, happened fairly recently. And that Ace visited Wano many years ago. It would seem quite odd that Momonosuke and Kin'emon are still fleeing from Kaidou after all this time, and that Raizou chose to flee to Zou with Jack only JUST recently trying to find him there.
-
RE: Chapter 818: In The Whale
So the Zou Poneglyph is still a well kept secret. Jack couldn't find Raizo because he was not aware of the hidden chamber within the Whale. I'm certain if Kaido knew, Jack would have been informed, or been with him at the time.
Big Mom and Kaido are in possession of two of them, which I'm guessing are only known because they stole them at one point in time. The Wano Poneglyph might not be that well known as it sounds as if they managed to stay secluded enough and protect the secrets until Kaido showed up. Although I assume Kaido didn't get much information out of Wano, much like Jack couldn't get the Mink to talk.
Interesting revelations, a lot of questions.

RE: Chapter 817: Raizou Of The Mist
This chapter was just so much fun. The SH's are just so infectious, you can't help but join in with their stupidity.
So I'm guessing Roger was once there since they mention "that person" in relation to hearing the voice of something - assuming the Poneglyph.

RE: Magi
Discovery time it is. Fitting as we as readers need to learn as much as we can about the current state of things after 2 years.
It was believable the way that Alibaba got Sinbad to buckle under his terms. He not only embarrassed him in front of everyone by telling the truth and exposing Sinbad's game, but in the end invoked a favor from Sinbad in a 'Well, you do owe me sorta' way. The favor becomes the pretence for it all, while Sinbad's trickery gets overlooked all while the Kou Empire is still in debt. Sinbad doesn't lose anything and things become more interesting with Sinbad around, and if he fails so save the Kou Empire, the only thing lost is the interest which was frozen.

RE: Chapter 812: Capone "Gang" Bege
Any chance of reaction ended when Nami and Chopper showed up captured already.
Anyway, really nice to finally learn Sanji's family name. And i have the feeling Oda will reverse expectations here and make Pudding look really pretty.
That too, but I think collectively they did not want to fight there, better to get dragged off somewhere and improvise. And well we already know that was the right choice.
Haha I've got this feeling that he'll just play some kind of mental jujitsu on us. We expect him to reverse expectations, but really he'll just stick to the same formula and pair him up with an absolute Beast. But I hope you're right.
-
RE: Chapter 812: Capone "Gang" Bege
They avoided confrontation for the sake of the minks.
This. The country has just gotten over a near genocide, they do not want to go starting a war on their welcome mat.
-
RE: Chapter 812: Capone "Gang" Bege
So Sanji's family has ties to a Younko and the WG? Must be filthy rich and/or very powerful.
Nami with cash symbols on her eyes - incoming.
-
RE: Chapter 812: Capone "Gang" Bege
3 Billion is clearly a mistranslation
I feel as if Sanji could have put up a fight along with the rest of the crew and Caesar Clown there, but they were mostly concerned about the well being of the Mink people. Capone showcased his ruthless nature so you can't take any chances with that sort of an ability. Also, that nod between Capone and Sanji spells something in the works, and he said that they had met a week ago? Does he mean on Fishman Island?
Great to finally have the reveal of Sanji's last name and that he's of noble birth. To what standing his family holds among the aristocracy is still in the air so still waiting on that. Really going to enjoy this year and learning more about Sanji and his family - two brothers. Any sisters for Zoro to get along with and piss Sanji off to to end?!
I guess Sanji's also a furry :ninja:.
Pekoms is a nice guy, cares about his hometown, hate to see him get done dirty like that.
Caesar's interaction with the crew is improving. But I still don't ever see redemption on the table. -
RE: Chapter 806: At the Fortress of Left Stomach
So Brook is off in Spirit form with Sanji, who's been taken somewhere, likely due to his 'Only Alive' Bounty. Could Jack be responsible as he must have been well aware of the SH's leading to Doflamingo's capture. A nice prize to bring back to Doffy had he rescued him.
Oh well, we'll find out more in 2 weeks time
-
RE: Chapter 790: "Heaven and Earth"
I think that flashback to Rayleigh advising Luffy wasn't meant for King Kong Gun. It doesn't make sense for the solution to Gear 4's heavy toll to be to pump even more into Gear 4ā¦ If this is foreshadowing Gear 5 I think it was placed at the wrong time.
-
RE: Chapter 787: "4 minutes"
This would be a great opportunity to capture Burgess and have Viola interrogate him. We really need to find out how exactly BB and his crew are stealing DF abilities.
-
RE: Chapter 783: Path Blocking
I have no idea what G4 will look like but I could only guess based on what Luffy currently needs in this fight against Doflamingo.
He's able to hit him with G2 in which he's faster but doesn't have enough DC (Destructive Capacity), with the opposite being the case in G3.
I can only imagine that G4 is a mode in which he retains the speed of G2, or even exceeds that, but beefs up his body to the point where he has more DC. I'm envisioning a very athletic built Luffy with G2 effects.
I think the drawback to this mode might be reduced attack range and the standard G2 stamina problems, I think he won't be able to stretch as far with his muscles pumped.

RE: Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra
! Loved it, the only complaint I have is that there wasn't enough Bolin, but I guess he didn't need much screen time as he'd already patched things up with Opal.
! Korrasami is legit and developed very organically, this is probably as far as Nickelodeon dared to go with a same sex relationship but it was lovely. For a second there when Mako and Korra were talking at the end I was afraid they'd get back together which would have been horrible writing at that point. -
RE: Chapter 768: That trigger on that day
I liked this chapter. I don't really care for recaps but they're sometimes necessary after a flashback like this one. We've been in a flashback for the last 6 weeks, not including the chapter that segwayed into the flashback.
I was really glad to see Dellinger revealed as a half fish-man of Fighting Fish descent, that's a really cool aspect of his character now which I was struggling to like for a while. Not all too bothered with Law's declaration towards the end because it just feels like while he did land the shot, it's probably not fatal and if history tells us anything it's that Mingo dealt with Law on the bridge and only got a scratch from it. Now unless Law planned for EVERYTHING and the Ope Ope no Mi or someone in his crew has the ability of foresight, then there's no reason why he didn't go all out before. Perhaps he's spurred on by recalling his past, as we've just experienced with him, as well as Luffy, but I see defeat in his future and Luffy taking Mingo down instead.

RE: Bart Simpson Thread XI: The Movie - The Manga Adaption - The Animation
I was pretty whatever about this chapterā¦ Orochimaru can just hook these two up with new arms right?
-
RE: Bart Simpson Thread XI: The Movie - The Manga Adaption - The Animation
Naruto finally forms a Rasengan without the assistance of a clone. Chakra is a limited resource that can be depleted within minutes, not hours, if used flippantly. An actual physical fight instead of jutsu spamming. Naruto Rendan. The flashback was limited to a 1/3 of a full page spread.
I liked the chapter, I'm fearful that Naruto will just use a Shadow Clone to avoid Sasukes last attack. Maybe he tanks it and still wins, then Sakura can be useful and steal Naruto from Hinata during the rehabilitation process which will receive it's own Harem spinoff.

RE: Chapter 763: Human Declaration
I do not trust Mangastream's "taboo" translation at all.
The page before that they translated the line about the white spots on Law increasing as Baby 5 saying that she's having a lot of fun.Well I wouldn't feel either way if it was a mistranslation, and certainly not surprised since there's never been any mention of it in the past (as far as I'm aware) while Oda loves to foreshadow things and drop hintsā¦ Still, fingers crossed we get more info on 'D' next chapter.
-
RE: Bleach Discussion 0: Hello Darkness my old friend
I'm sure they'd have figured out what the tree does after a few of their attacks fail, and the outcome will be 1 of them will either hvae some special Quincy power to braek out or the big boss will use some god like quincy power or Yamamoto's fire and vaporize the entire thing and then will be on his merry way to the Palace until the orange haired savior makes his way back
Well you still shouldn't help the enemy deduce how it works by giving them the answersā¦ They could have wasted time, slowed them down more, drained their power, and possibly get intel on the Quincy powers while they're busy trying to get out of the cage. Instead... this.
-
RE: Bart Simpson Thread XI: The Movie - The Manga Adaption - The Animation
I actually didn't mind the flashbacks this time. They seemed pretty well placed and didn't drag on for half or the whole chapter. It's just a shame we've been beaten around the head with them soooo many times before that you still get that feeling.
-
RE: Chapter 763: Human Declaration
Well this chapter definitely had me intrigued and wonderfully surprised. I had thought this was Law's flashback so I didn't expect to see into Doflamingo's dreams, but I guess since they're both fighting each other in the present that it's a shared one.
"'D' is a secret name, and 'Water' is Taboo". Well we've known for some time now that those with the D. in their names signified something crucial but we still don't know what exactly. Corazon tells law to get away from Doflamingo specifically because of this, so I'll await theories on this or if we're lucky, Oda will reveal what Corazon is talking about in the upcoming chapters. At this point I have no idea what to think about 'Water' as it's the first time I'm hearing this.
-
RE: Chapter 762: The White Town
Well damn that's almost as bad as Robin's past, although Law wasn't hunted down by the world.
-
RE: Next Strawhat Crewmate (Vol. 6)
@Ice:
but he ain't going with them on their adventures nevertheless
I don't see why that wouldn't be the case after he completes his obligations. He gets along well with Luffy, Oda already threw him into some of the comical crew interactions and he's expressed his desire to join the crew.

Thank this guy :)
Thank you both, Mangastream got there eventually, putting both together cleared a lot of things up.

RE: Chapter 761: The Ope Ope no Mi
Is there a decent translation out yet, I've been waiting on mangastream all day, I finally cracked and read mangapanda's but I really couldn't understand what was going on, I got the jist of it but it was really just in and outā¦
-
RE: Chapter 760: The Same Stakes
I'm not sure it would work on every logia. The less solid ones I mean. Depends on Oda I guess.
But am I the only one that found the whole Radio Knife thing silly? Whatever happened to Armaments Haki, Law?
You're right, I don't see how that could possibly work against Light, Fire, and Electricity. Though Magma is pretty darn thick, just as or more than the Beta Beta no Mi. I reckon it could work on Akainu, if he could get the beast into such a vulnerable state though ha.
-
RE: Naruto and Bleach V - The Not-So-Final Frontier
It's been a shitty war arc, so at this point it's time for some popcorn. If we didn't get Sasuke vs Naruto it'd be a crime at this point. It's literally what we've all been waiting for in part 2.
-
RE: Chapter 760: The Same Stakes
I think people are overreacting to Doffy's rushed backstory, there's obviously a lot more that's happened in his life since he is after all a grown man. It's just not THAT necessary to explore right now, we've just been given a glimpse of his superiority complex and insanity. Once you hear an 8 year old child accuse his father of letting his mother die because the common people around them are so dirty, and that he used that as grounds to kill his father, then this child gets rejected by the other Tenryuubito after he already said what he hates most is being looked down upon?
At that point I don't need to see anymore until after the fight. What's interesting about Doflamingo is his family and the characters he seems to enlist, and how they're all so thoroughly devoted to him. As for motivations, I've seen enough, and anyone who thought Doflamingo might be unique to the other Tenryuubito in their warped superiority complex was not thinking realistically after witnessing the others.
I liked this chapter though, particularly for the ending because Mingo had been hyped up so much, it made sense for him to be caught off guard as Law's ability is pretty hax, but he instantly responds.
So Law's room is now able to keep DF users from reforming - Logia in particularā¦ That's scary.
Fujitora and Sabo just packed up and left it? I'm cool with that, considering there were bigger things happening on the island than the #2 of the Revolutionaries being there to help take down Mingo. If this was Akainu he'd have kept going in on Sabo, then Luffy and Law, then deal with Mingo later because Absolute BS.
I don't see how Doflamingo deals with Fujitora added to the challengers... it's still chaotic to gna wait to see how Oda gets this to be a Luff-Mingo showdown.Nice interactions between Koala and Sabo :)

RE: History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi
Wow, this is a really bad ending, but I never cared too much for the series, weekly fluff.
-
RE: Chapter 759: Secret Plan
If Hody Jones could tank Red Hawk (granted it was with performance enhancing drugs that stacked and he kept having to take them after Luffy damaged him) Mingo should be able to tank it no problem. But Luffy's fights with the main villains are never over quickly, I expect a lot more damage to go around, we haven't really seen Luffy's durability tested in the NW.
-
RE: Naruto and Bleach V - The Not-So-Final Frontier
My god how apathetic I felt at seeing the end of Kaguya.
-
RE: Chapter 758: Ignore it and move on
Why are people assuming that mentioning that the bullets were made of lead insinuates lead poisoning at all? That's never been a problem for anyone in the series so far, but we do know that Seastone Bullets can be lethal to DF users, and that Doflamingo essentially had an opportunity to kill Law but chose not to.
It seems that the only reason Law mentioned the bullets being made of lead, is that he was angry that Doflamingo is still playing around with him. Letting him stay alive and keep chasing after him because he can take him down anytime, and may even still have plans for him.
-
RE: Chapter 758: Ignore it and move on
I think it's more likely to be Observation haki. I'm always keeping in mind that Haki really hasn't been elaborated on all that greatly, and Luffy has only managed to learn the basics from what Rayleigh said.
It's possible that Haki develops generically and/or uniquely in individuals, which makes a lot of sense for it being a supportive type of ability rather than a main ability. Usopp perceiving the aura of individuals is perfect for his sniping role.
We still need some explanation on Sanji the Human Torch's abilities and Zoro's Asura.
-
RE: Fairy Tail Discussion III
If it's about Aokizi putting his fingers in the seawater and freeze it, It's like a loophole abuse more than anything. After all, he doesn't lose his strength completely if he just touches the water a little and he can't drown in frozen seawater.
Power Users don't lose full control of their Devil Fruit unless more than halfway submerged in water anyway(sans Crocodile) so Kuzan doesn't contradict anything.
We were told this during Nami's fight with Califa.
This.
It would be ridiculous if any level of seawater rendered a Devil Fruit user powerless. I think the current standard even includes a 'standing body of water', so you couldn't just throw seawater on a DF user and they'd be significantly weakened.
I'd seriously worry about DF users hygiene if they couldn't get wet at all :getlost:
-
RE: Fairy Tail Discussion III
It was most likely something he made up as he went along. But you still have to respect Mashima for managing to put a flashback in there and still have Gajeel beat that stupid sharkdick. If Kishimoto would have drawn that fight, we would have to deal with 5 more chapters of flashback and 10 more chapters off fighting.
I can't argue with that. As soon as I saw the flashback panels my immediate thought was that I should buckle up for an entire autumn spent down memory laneā¦ This is just what Kishi has done to us
