Lol Yeah, me too. Getting the costume done for Anime Next for the Impell down version. Have a friend I'm trying to convince to do Mr.3.

Ok, so here we are at the very start of what will be a quick and easy costume. For now I'm startin' Impell down Buggy, but with intention to move on to the regular version sometime down the road near fall. Obviously, gotta style the wig and do up the make-up, but looks to be promising.

Dunno how many of the One Piece cosplayers are tri-state area centered, but my friends and I are doing the Water 7 variations of the crew.

That would be awsome to see. Mine wasn't actual ribbon, I went with some cloth I had on hand, but it still came out ok.

Haha! Nice Kumadori! Never get to see all of the CP9 together, odly enough… every group I've run into (2 if you want the count but seen a few in pics) always missing one person if not more. No one does Bleuno. Something I do wanna add.... I notice almost ALL Lucci cosplayers use white for the hat ribbon. Am I the only one who used the dark brown from the anime?

I know it was your own choice and all, but I really like the fact that you used gold instead of yellow buttons. It gives it a slightly more realistic look. (hypocritical I know, since we're cosplaying as cartoon characters )

Thanks! I plan on getting a better wig, but this was a short notice fix. The suit was damn near impossible to find when I looked in stores. Though I felt retarded when I found the perfect one on a website…. I got the buttons on the cuffs done with 2 gold on each as well for as accurate as I can get.

And hurray! My sanji is complete pre-shaving for Lucci tomorrow.

Otakon. Will be there with my girlfriend who is working on her water 7 Robin. Working on the seastone cuffs too. She may also do Kalifa, but that'll be if she gets it done in time. I may also do Trafalga Law, if the color coding gets done in time.

Actually, there was a group that showed at night when the lightening started. There was Brooke, Cindry, Jump point Chopper, Alabasta Nami, and a really good Ussop. Nobody thought to bring a camera.

And yes, you were very cute as Luffy we passed eachother as I gave up on friday after waiting for half an hour for the shoot to start at 3.

I saw you at Animenext as Lucci, but you never showed up to the shoots. Though.. practically no one did. It was really uncontrolled and unorginized.

I think with the statement of "I'm gonna make that skeleton join!" there wouldn't even be any further thought to Brook joining. Luffy said it, and as always, will follow through. Of this there is no doubt in my mind. Better time spent is thinking who else will join if anymore indeed join.

I dunno if anyone else has seen this, but I managed a unbilievable score last night. Went to a comic shop in NJ in a mall to pick up The Boys #9 and low and behold an out of the box Sogeking variant! I asked how much it was and they didn't even know it was a variant. They sold it to me anyways and picked up the Robin from the line for good measure. Chopper has a red jacket and closed eyed smile as oppossed to the regular with black jacket and tough guy look.
Usopp obvious enough. No mask or cape, goggles up, and smirking.

Luffy- It was his character design that interested me into wanting to see the series. The scar on his face accomponied by that huge grin. I've liked him since the begining. I've never considered his the "Goku" type. His first reaction to just about every situation is to solve it by hitting it. He's not too bright on the outside, but he's blunt and honest. He's always been living what he thinks a pirate should be from his dreams.

Zoro- Again, someone who I've loved since the begining. 3 swords at once was a new concept. His more serious but open personallity just seemed fun. Like he was really just leaning towards being absolute neutral. I think ever since the Mihawk fight has been since he started losing his more opened side. Sure we've seen him party with the others at Alabasta, but it set him into needing to be more driven. Plus the death of Kuina was a great and unexpected way to have things happen rather than most "Killed by this person who now I seek revenge".

Ussop- What's not to love about Ussop? He's always been just a fun character. In fact, he has to be the poster child for why this series is so great. The fight between him and Luffy (Not just the battle scenes) was truely great writing. No matter how much the series goes on, or how strong the characters get, Ussop has always been able to keep up and not just be a lousy "Krillin" type. The scene that made me truely respect him was in Arlong park. When he was rubbing dirt on himself thinking of lies to say to make up for his giving up. Then coming to the realization of how much of a loser he was and choosing to instead fight for that determination.

Sanji- Sanji's always cracked me up. His asshole treatment to guys and gentleman ways with the ladies. His fighting style and his curly brow.

Nami- Wasn't impressed too much by her at all untill (Like most people) her back story. It just really gave her so much more depth that she was missing in earlier chapters.

Chopper- Hated him at first. Even though his story did present him well enough, his personallity just more annoyed me tha anything else. Right up untill Monster Chopper, I couldn't care less for him.

Robin- Robin was someone I kind of held out my opinion on. I liked that she always had the most gruesome circumstances when thinking of others well being, and how she joined in the first place, but her roles in Skypedia showed what true uses she really had. The came the Water 7 arc. I started to get angry with her for shooting Iceburg (Who is still one of my favorites) and just the fact she was being so ignorant. She's been with the Mugiwara long enough to know they were more than capable of taking on the World Gov. Just… not Ao Kiji. Though the burning of the flag scene was great.

Franky- I hated Franky with a passion. Not just because he threatened to be the shipwright (I wanted Paulie) and his just odd appearance was offputting at first. In fact, I didn't grow to like him untill his aid on the Puffing Tom. When we really got to see what he could do. Now he's just great to have around and I've embraced his eccentric personallity.

Brook- Ok, so maybe he's only been in two chapters, but he fits in quite perfectly! It was an odd idea having another member join so soon, but Brook is a welcomed addition. He's an entertainer and he's quite good at it.

Vivi- Loved her VA. That screaming of desperation was top notch. She was someone I never went one way or another with.

If you can find this same scene in the manga, you maybe have just found proof of a theory some others have had about croc and his abilities.
On the coverstory with Croc, did Oda ever confirm if the one scene of Crocodile w/o the hook was a mistaken or intentional?

Looked pretty intentional to me… Seeing as how in the manga covers the scene without the hook in his fun little cuffs there and the next we see him sitting there smoking, he's barely hanging onto it.

As a whole, this is my favorite story. Before so it was still Arlong park tied with the Davy Back games. Not a big fan of the skypedia though…

There was just so much to love about this arc. I only hated the character look for Blueno. But even still, he was awsome just for what he could do with that Doa doa fruit. Kaku turning into a giraffee LOL c'mon! That's one of the best jokes in the whole series! Kumadori! Just the fact that even after Chopper was down, as an asassin, he still continued to wail on him. Plus the whole failing attempts at suicide. Lucchi was just awsome on every level. Loved Califa and her "That's sexual harrassment" stuff. Fukouro's humpty dumpty appearance. Jyabura ... and even Spandam.

Oda did good with making you really hate Spandam. Loved the sea train assult. Paulie. Luffy getting stuck all over the place. The suprise of who the CP9 were. Franky. Iceburg and his "Nmma!" Tyrannosaurous. Basically all of Water 7.

This is also the only time I ever thought Chopper was cool. Chop-zilla!

Things I didn't like. Zoro's finish on Kaku... where the hell did THAT come from? Don't think he needed the extra arms.
Random no name one pannel Character destroying Zoro's sword.
Robin's past. Just didn't think that was better told when at the moment it was released I was yerning for the fights to kick off.
Fukouro's voice in the anime. I was expecting deeper. Much deeper.

No, it's not that we are ignoring his reasons to stay, more or less trying to justify his position on why he'd leave. Personally, I would love to see more of Iceburg. He's one of my favorite characters now, but as much as Iceburg is Paulie's father figure, it doesn't seem as far fetched to believe he could depart with the Strawhats more easily than Franky leaving behind 50-60 people that pretty much DEPEND on him.

As for Paulie's rank, He's the Dock 1 mast repair division leader. And as you said, Iceburg trained him to be a shipwright… Currently, Luffy and co. are in need of a... Gasp shipwright!

Franky doesn't need to oversee the ship he builds in order to know it's capabillities, Just as Tom heard the exploits of the ship he gave to Roger.

Paulie has as much if even more ties to Water 7 as Franky, in fact, he's the head of Galley La now, whereas Franky has always been a crimincal. He's close to Iceberg and all the carpenteres at Galley La. Really, this arguement sounds like it should only apply to Franky.

Paulie wouldn't leave Water 7 just to escape creditors. He runs away fom them in his own town everyday. Iceberg wouldn't just "give away" one of his carpenters to the SHs unless they were willing, it's not like any carpenter their would just let themselves be "given away" like people are suggesting. Paulie, for example, would want to stay at Galley LA with all in fellow carpenters.

As for Franky, I think he has enough knowledge in shipbuilding to build he ideal ship already, and is probably satisfied with his relationship with Iceberg. It still doesn't seem practical.

What? Last time I checked, the assassination of Iceburg was a failure. This being said Iceburg is still alive and still the mayor and head head of Galley-La company. The ties Paulie had with the carpenters was shaken upon learning the identity of the CP9 were actually the people held as his best friends. He seamed more like an idol for the minor carpenters than their friend. Even if he leaves, Iceburg still has Tileston and Lulu.

And to me at least it seems like he might possibley been contemplating going with Luffy through his actions and his reflections of Luffy's words. Paulie does seem like the type to bugger off to avoid his debt for the time being, not to say he won't plan on coming back a little later to pay it off. As for Franky…. just look how distraught he's been about his family being hurt and whatnot since even the begining of the arc. Why would he abandon them now to become a pirate? Why would he leave the number one dock in the world? His dream is to build the dreamship. Not sail in it.

I'm not saying Franky can't/won't join... in fact chances are he probly will.. but this is my own speculation.

Well, here's my issue with Franky joining and his dream… Tom built a ship for Roger and stayed on Water 7. He didn't feel the need to go with him because of his love for building ships. Franky has that same spark and desire. I think once he gets to making one he migh start wanting his own fleet again.

He's already at the best dock in the world as it has been said. Leaving there seems to hurt his dream over helping it. Aside from that, I think he and Iceburg would be better off rekindling friendship and solving the islands problems which would be the TRUE way for him to follow in Tom's footsteps. Like stopping Water 7 from sinking, or better protection from next years aqua laguna.

Sure Franky is crazy and powerfull, but with his ties to Water 7 and his dream and Franky Family, I just don't see him leaving.

As I have said many times over, I can see just as the Strawhats are leaving, Paulie swinging onboard being chased by his creditors. He has less to leave behind, he's got awsome skills being trained by Iceburg, and also has a unique personallity. Besides that, he's had plenty of good interaction from Luffy who will be the one to choose in the end. Thinking back to where Luffy asked Iceburg to be a pirate and he told Luffy "Feel free to take anyone you want, though I don't think you'll find anyone who is willing." with the scene of Paulie and luffy pinned down together in the mansion...

I still hold vote for Paulie till the end. As always... just my own speculation, you can't often predict what Oda will pull.
