But what could be on the island that's so horrible? Is it something that would be really difficult for Whitebeard and Shanks to handle? And if that's the case, why is Whitebeard floating in the middle of the ocean rather than waiting on this island? Look at Shanks, he's just floating around, not really caring about One Piece or becoming Pirate King. We've seen him on random islands.
Personally, I'm still an advocate for the Agua Laguna theory, cause that would explain why Whitebeard is closest to One Piece: He's right before where the nastiest seakings are located, and is just waiting for the tide to recede.
Hm, the aqua laguna just happened, so he doesn't need to wait much longer, that would mean we'll probably find out soon enough if your theory is right….

I know just because you have the ability of that animal that doesnt give you the same type of personality..but picturing luffy with a half-monkey half person...that would be awsome, seing they both are monkeys (one litteraly and one sort of) .... I really hope Oda has something like that in store for us, because i've seen luffy interact with his nakama and that is just hilarious, but a dialogue between luffy and a monkey..the funny moments would be - PRICELESS

Considering how easy it is to fool the Giants, however, I doubt they really care much about history. I also think they're being suppressed.
Ever hear the old story of Momotaro? It was about a Boy born from a Peach. With a Red Dog, Yellow Monkey, and Blue Pheasant he defeated the Ogres of Ogre Island and became a hero.
This is similar to what I think happened to the giants. They're being suppressed. While the Gyojin have Jimbei's protection, the Giants aren't so lucky.
Oh my…. That story was new to me, this could imply that the three admirals have probably done something to elbaf, because... the 4 giants we have seen, its been a while since they went back to elbaf right??
Like when they finally return, they dont find a warrior country, but something else, that is quite the opposite....
