I don't think Oda is going to pull a Naruto type war. Naruto's fans will scream "COPY CAT"….... Oda will not do that..... it's the last arc....... He would want One Piece to end with a huge bang........ Unlike Dragonball's ending.......

Declaration of War against the World Government is not enough? Whacking a World Noble in the head is not enough justification? Everyone even pirates stay clear of the World Nobles. Luffy just go and sucker punch one in the head. That is not justification enough for a higher bounty?

I know, maybe you should suggest to Oda that a declaration of war is not justifiable as a reason to have a bounty of 300mil belli. Nor is whacking a World Noble is justified enough. He needs to quickly set up a team of insanely strong bounty hunters. Go ask that in a SBS. Remind him that his manga needs more justifications in order to be great. Ignoring the fact that the latest volume of One Piece had break it's own sales record. So, this is not yet a great manga, but it is already great enough for most of the people.

If anything that is disappointing in One Piece, it that some fans sure hell thinks One Piece is not good enough yet. That is the only disappointment of One Piece - A minority of fans that needs justifications for every tiny bit of situations/events/scenarios…etc that happens in One Piece.

i wonder why people are complaining about logic of anything that happens in One Piece?

Luffy having a rubber body is logical but 150km thingy is bs?
Devil fruit is logical?
Zorro losing several liters of blood is not dying is logical?
Luffy avoiding a bullet at point blank range is logical?

if the above few example is anything to go by, 150km in ONE PIECE WORLD is definitely not BS.
If 150km is BS, then Luffy is also BS, because he is a rubberman, which is impossible by any standard or logic.

We all know that Oda was influenced by Toriyama, but that does not mean he is going to do stuff like Toriyama. In my mind Oda has surpassed his role model by leaps and bounds, in the simple fact that all the characters are actually usefull.

Oda had and will do a DB anyways. But only in his own way or you can say a variation of it. It may not be 100% following it, but you can relate to DB with it. Gear 2 is one of them. Gear 2 is rather similar to Super Saiyan or Kaio-ken.

This chapter is quite simple.
1. Luffy did something that probably overshadowed the War that happened a few weeks ago.
2. Buggy is given the chance to be a Shichibukai.

I am wagering my bet on Luffy doing either of the following:
i) Getting married to Boa Hancock.
ii) Attacking marineford again. (this is suicide, I know, but hey, what else to get the attention of the world?)
iii) Beat another shichibukai to a pulp. Jinbei being the so-called "victim". I doubt the WG had time to tell everyone that Jinbei has renounced his Shichibukai status. If not Jinbei, then Boa Hancock is the "victim" then.

Other than that, I don't see anything more serious. Taking out a whole armada of Marine ships isn't that spectacular since this probably happened alot in the new world. and probably not a good idea to tell the world about losing an armada to some pirates.

I lean towards Luffy and Boa Hancock tying the knot. As Robin's, Vivi's and Sanji's reaction is just that. Iva's reaction by saying it reminds him of Dragon's own story which would mean 2 things, 1. Getting an army ready to take on the world or 2. Getting married out of no where (hence, getting Luffy).

I would like to see Dragon standing on the 5 corpse of the old geezers of the World Government. Just right after Sengoku proclaimed that the marines have won this war. (or so he thinks)…..

If Blackbeard sided with the marines this round, then he still has an agenda and needs the marines help, if he attacks everyone including the marines, then it's obvious he wants to be no.1. Taking out the world's strongest man and also the marine with him.

Some of the people here EXPECT Oda to think like them, eat like them, sleep like them and ponder the world like them.

Luckily, Oda DOES NOT think like them, eat like them, sleep like them or view the world just like them.

If not, we would be calling the author of One Piece "Arlong Park forum members" and Oda is just their slave or shadow author.

That said, Whitebeard death has to happen though, however, I think Oda will figure out a way to make the turning point of the story that does not include Whitebeard dying. And we will not be seeing some people in the forum anymore as they always hope Oda will kill someone for them in a manga that does not belong to them!

We already know he took the bridge where Nico Robin was held captive so by the time this war is over the rebels might have very well expanded enournmously their influence over the world

Maybe after this war is over, and the marines thought they have managed to steal victory from the pirates, they find that Dragon has taken over half the world or even 3/4 of the world (farfetched, but possible).

The marines would have won the battle at marineford, but would lost the real war with Dragon… since he already "liberated" lots of islands/countries.

I don't see Dragon not taking the opportunity this war present to his cause. He might be just waiting for both sides to whack off each other before making his own move. I don't think he is that stupid to just pass up this kind of opportunity. He has been taking over island after island and country after country. And when this one in a million chance opportunity comes, do you think he will just say stand in his HQ and do nothing?

Oh, believe me. He will stop…. when volume 99 is published in 2012.....

Luffy should be probably near death by now if that is what you are counting on. He got poison twice, got is body pierce a couple of times, overused gears in the past few fights.

Just because Oda might have planned to put Boa or already planned to put Boa in the SHs and you all are screaming foul, because Boa is a shichibukai? or because she has King Haki?

Since when there was a rule stating a Shichibukai cannot join the SHs? If 2 shichibukai join? Will you all stop reading One Piece then?

Boa is sure to join. Face it. Had Oda not been a Dragonball fan, then I would say Boa isn't joining. But Oda is Dragonball's NO.1 fan, not to mention his idol is Toriyama….. Oda didn't only take a little elements from Dragonball, he took ALOT of elements from Dragonball (in variable variations). If this Boa thinking she is now married to Luffy isn't just similiar to the way Chichi and Goku got married during their fight in the World No.1 tournament, then I don't know what is.
You all can argue she has more to loss if she follows Luffy, then what does she got to gain by staying back on Amazon Lily? fighting Marines for the rest of her life?
It would be better for her to leave or disassociate herself from Amazon Lily.

Another thing, I doubt the World Government TOP Agenda is to so-called flatten Amazon Lily....... when they will be counting themselves lucky that Whitebeard and gang could not finish them off once and for all. And I doubt the World Government and the Marines will come out unscathed either........ even IF Oda doesn't kill anyone from this war (which would be ridiculous even to the die hard fans), there will be deaths and destruction to both sides.......

Going after a small island with warrior girls ready to take you on would be foolish. not to mention there will opportunistic wannabe pirates who would take this opportunity to strengthen their powers when the marines are at their weakest.....

If Sengoku is really that legendary of a strategist, he wouldn't be bothered with trivial stuff, and would try to strengthen the marines and the shichibukai FIRST, before doing anything else....

Someone needs to teach him how to use haki though… and who says there can't be two King Haki's user in a crew? I am sure in the New World, you need all the best skills your pirate crew has. Unless off course, after this current war, a majority of top marines, top pirates are either killed, incapacitated or have injuries that takes long time to heal. everyone would be licking their wounds, making newbies like Luffy and the other Supernovas free reign of the New World for a short period of time...

well, in order for the story to move along, Whitebeard must die or at least get incapacitated. Not only him though, a majority of marines and new world pirates will have to be incapacitated / dead in order for the balance to be maintain…. if not, all hell breaks loose if either one of side only has minor losses...

even that old grandma marine can fight, I doubt Sengoku can't lift a finger…... Whitebeard did say he and Garp are the few old time marines during Roger's time.....that says something about Sengoku.........

I say this is going to be lead to Whitebeard's death before…. and I will say it again..... Whitebeard is going to die here or fatally hurt....either way, he is DEAD. But I don't think the World Government is going to get off with just a slap on the wrist............ probably both sides will get crippled.......

So, the balance of power is going to crumble on both sides of the scale.... the yonkou would only left one with full strength..... while the other 3 would have been crippled..... then there is the other side of the spectrum... the Marines and the World Government....... I doubt they are not going sustain heavy losses....... even with the 3 supreme admiral around........... they are probably going to lose lots of their strength......and the 5 old geezers would probably do some insane thing like bringing out their real plains for the world earlier than schedule....

While the Shichibukai would really be disbanded.... as you can see, Boa is already almost ready to become a Straw Hat...... (yes, she will. I hope you all naysayers and pessimist can stop saying she won't.) Oda might just surprise you......and I know even if Oda is right and you are wrong, you all are probably not going say you were wrong...... or something like that...

I don't think the crew would be mad at Luffy..... You all really is taking Luffy words too literally. You see, when Luffy says the Ace can take care of himself, Luffy doesn't know Ace is about to be EXECUTED.

1. Get a new wife/girlfriend/boyfriend
2. Get them out of hell
3. Go with them to hell

How many of their marines ranks are CORRUPTED and are friends with pirates? How some of the shichibukai's have almost free reins to do anything they want? Have you all forgotten? I believe Hannybal is also selfish too by thinking everyone that comes into ID is EVIL and it is his MORAL OBLIGATION to keep this EVIL people under lock and chains. But how many of them are REALLY that EVIL and POWERFUL? Magellan took out a whole floor just like that. So, not ALL of them are as bad as Hannybal makes it sound. Yes, they are bad, but I doubt they are not at the level of Crocodile who planned to blow up 1mil ++ people....

I think Magellan is seriously underestimating Blackbeard. And even if Shiryuu is that powerful, 5 vs 1 although is a mismatch, Shiryuu might be able to hold the Blackbeard crew or not depending on how powerful Shiryuu is.

However, lets assume Blackbeard's power is really that powerful (lets also assume there are still people unconvinced that Ace losing is a fluk), Shiryuu is no match for Blackbeard.

If Oda is not going to put any deaths in current time, are you all going to stop reading One Piece? I doubt so.

Dramatic effect. YES. Death can bring out your emotions. YES. I agree.

However, you have got to hand it to Oda. He draws One Piece the way he wants. Without deaths in current time. He only brings out the emotions during a flashback. Why? Because he wants to show you a history that won't be repeating in self in present time, because things have change, the right people are there at that PRESENT moment to NOT REPEAT the same mistake.

If you all cannot understand why Oda doesn't want to kill a character in PRESENT time, then you all better go watch all those dramas with deaths from Episode 1 to the final episode to satisfy your deaths fetishes.

A storyline does not need dramatic measures nor does it need romantic measure to be great.

judging from how this chapter is going…........ "Yes We Can" is probably a good title... pity though that some people like ThunderEarthFire only thinks about rules and regulations…......

As for some people here who thinks mentioning a name in the storyline means the character is COMPULSORY to appear, must be dreaming they are Oda or they own Oda or they are Oda's master.

This chapter is showing Luffy and Croc working together. For the AMC's, they are already jumping for joy over this. Yet, some are still not satisfied at all. Unlike in Bleach and Naruto, One Piece is pulling away strongly. Only some of the fans and naysayers are saying it's going down hill, why? because their favourite non-main cast characters still haven't appear yet.
I wonder who is the main characters in One Piece? Luffy and gang? or the other characters?

I certainly can understand this whole justification about Death and Romance in a storyline. But is death and romance a MUST for a storyline to be great? I don't think so. However, people are going to justify this whole Death and Romance thing over and over.

Anyways, you will continue to love One Piece, even if no one dies and Luffy is still single, eventually when One Piece ends at the legendary chapter 1000 in the future.

Son of Whitebeard's theory has one problem….. he is making Blackbeard godly overpowered. If Blackbeard can suck spirit, then he can just steam rolled over everyone and no one can beat him now........

how come you all can't take the fact that Luffy says he wanted about ten nakamas? And going into the New World doesn't mean he can't recruit anymore nakamas! And besides, Oda can fair well use any number from 1 to 10. And he chooses 10. Yet, you all think Oda thinks like you? (example : no 2 more nakamas..etc).
Are you Oda in the first place? Or you are the puppeteer controlling Oda?

I think Oda will continue with One Piece until sales of One Piece drops so drastically, that he has to beg in the streets for money.

The usual prediction would be that Whitebeard has the King's Haki too. Just like Luffy, Roger and Rayleigh…... and Hancock...
