Plus, superfans are more likely by nature to become yes-men and thus less likely to challenge Oda's own ideas, which is the whole point of an editor.

RE: Chapter 1090: Kizaru
@Alfiere said in Chapter 1090: Kizaru:
The Water7/Enies Lobby saga was first and foremost about Robin's tragedy, establishing the world government as the big evil villain, the greatest obstacle on our heroes' path, and introducing the massive lore connected to all that.
And yet there was plenty of time to devote to Usopp's personal drama about being robbed first and losing the merry immediately after. It was a highly irrational and childish reaction on his part, and it threw a big wrench in the gears of the crew, complicating things for them, but an extremely believable and moving one for sure and it just kept going on along to the main plot bringing about a fundamental growth for the character Usopp and highlighting all the other crew members' feelings about his action. Meanwhile we also got the Franky storyline and even a bit of Chopper's.
So there isn't really any reason for not devoting not one chapter, but an entire subplot to Sanji dealing with the hunger in Wano because that's what I'm expecting from Sanji on a famined island after 20+ years of following his adventures. İf it's missing, anyone who cares about the character is bound to be disappointed.
Same goes with Jimbe, who is a very bland and overall badly written character, but at least always made clear one thing and that is disliking slavery, so i would expect there being a giant note in front of Oda's desk saying "chubby fish is not cool with there being a child soldier clone of him, or of anyone for that matter". İt clearly isn't there and that denotes nothing but lack of a care that was once there. The Water7-Enies Lobby saga is also one of the longest stories in the series, with nearly 130 chapters of content. Now imagine doing that when you have several more characters, primary and secondary. Corners have to be cut.
Never mind that according to Oda, Water 7 was originally about Merry/Usopp and Franky. Robin's subplot was entirely non-planned (or at least was not planned to be tackled there) and even Lucci wasn't meant to be an antagonist until he suddenly was.
Essentially, by doing exactly what you suggested, we ended up with a massive story that rivals Wano in lenght, but with 1/5 of the characters.
And you still have people clamoring for an 11th Strawhat.

I am still hoping for Teach being somehow related to the Buccaneers. Maybe the secret to them will be explored not with Kuma but with Teach, also with Vegapunk close to his death, I belief he won't be able to tell us what's special about them. Either Kuma will be able to talk and answer questions like he was prior to his "death".
That doesn't make sense since Saturn appears to know what Blackbeard is, and he still refers to Kuma as the last buccaneer.

@Razh said in Chapter 1107: I've Been Looking For You!!:
@King-Cannon That's borderline victim blaming. Aren't Oda and his paid editors the ones who decide what gets in?
You don't just decide to make one of main characters Wanoan, and then go so far to make his family a big deal and then just fail to do anything meaningful for the character with it.
But that's hardly the only thing that got inexplicably skipped over in Wano arc.
Oda has to read every fan letter I believe, so if people kept writing about it, he likely felt forced to clarify it. In the end, he is the one who has to dedicate the little time he has reading dozens of letters and then choosing what gets published.
And again, Zoro is not Wanoan. He merely has some Wanoan ancestry, which by itself is not special since everybody in his village does.

Wano Country Arc by Panel Time
Now that Wano has ended and many people have voiced their pros and cons about the arc, I thought this would be an interesting thing to post here, because it gives an idea about where Oda concentrated his writing and drawing efforts while he developed this particular storyline.

Personally, I was surprised about how well Kiku ranked, and that Aramaki managed to get that high despite being in just 3 or so chapters, to the point of surpassing Fukurokuju.

I also found this quite old list from the now defunct Oro Jackson that includes panel time from chapters 1 to 908. If anyone wants to do the math with how it adds up with the above, be my guest.

@Robby said in Chapter 1079: The Emperor's Crew, the Red-Haired Pirates:
You can say the same for Buggy, blower-upper of cities. Or Crocodile, genocider of kingdoms. And Ceaser Clown, poisoner of children. Wapol became a man that gets peed on by dogs. Enel started playing with robot teddy bears. And now n this very arc, murder machine Lucchi is being pulled into face faults.
All the bad people get toned down in Luffy's presence after they stop being a threat and made into jokes that ignore the horrible things they done.
Doesn't mean Kidd is "not actually that bad". It just means that Luffy is on camera and nothing truly bad can happen while the audience is watching.
Bege has stabbed a subordinate in the eye, almost killed Pekoms and attempted to assassinate someone with deadly poison, even roping the SH into it, yet he gets off mostly scot-free.
Honestly, I don't think Oda cares if Kid has done bad things or whatever. Bartolomeo was going around making barbecue out of people, yet he's not particularly treated badly for it.

RE: Chapter 1090: Kizaru
@Alfiere said in Chapter 1090: Kizaru:
If I had to pick only one major criticism to the writing of post timeskip One Piece that rises above all the others, I think it would be characters almost never acting coherently with their previously established characterization, always following instead the path of less resistance for the plot to stay on tracks and the planned events to happen.
So before this we had for example Luffy declaring he wanted to take the emperors down and taking territories while pre-time skip he made a big declaration in front of an approving Rayleigh that he didn't want to dominate on anybody and just wanted the most freedom, or the crew accepting and going along the Big mom assassination plan, or the famine in Wano never being a major point for Sanji, only because he already had his spotlight, or Kid and Law, who had dick measuring consests with Luffy on stuff like dodging fire blasts or jumping from waterfalls, just willingly step aside for Luffy to fight the big boss all on his own, and now all this we just discussed.
It makes incredibly hard to care for any of these characters because it breaks the illusion of them being actual people.one can relate to and exposes them as simply plot devices for the intended thing to happen.
Those are pretty minor points, and in somecases don't contradict prior charcterization. Sure Luffy wants to have the most freedom, but turns out that when the Emperors restrain freedom, you have to take them down and protect your territories so they also don't get freedom-restricted. If anything, pre-timeskip Luffy was rather naive as he didn't know how the New World functioned, but his desire for ultimate freedom is still there, Nika being the culmination of it.
And it's not like any of the things you mentioned weren't acknowledged at all. Sanji DID get angry after learning about the SMILE, but it's not like you can dedicate a whole chapter about his reactions since there are many other characters that have their own thoughts about it as well. Sanji for example did step up when Page One started rampaging on food stands because he felt responsible for it, so that's enough of a moment for him.

RE: Chapter 1109: Interception
@Captain-M said in Chapter 1109: Interception:
Unfortunately, no, we cannot. If it's morning on Egghead it can be dawn on Dressrosa, just before dawn at Marie Geoise and late at night in the second half of Paradise for Water Seven and Kamabakka, there's no way it makes sense for it to be day in the East Blue and night in the West Blue. Oof, we were so close. But Oda's time zones are busted.
If you put the sunlines just a few milimeters to the right, it could make sense. We could assume Foosha and that West Blue Nation are closer to the Red Line and the sun is just a bit past Reverse Mountain to get both Foosha (at late noon) and Dressrosa (at early dawn).
Oda has made some maps of the East Blue before but it's obvious they've never been to scale. And we can assume that the first 5 Straw Hats just sailed through a tiny portion of their sea.
One possible evidence that Goa is not close to the Mary Geoise portion of the Red Line is that Sterry went to Loguetown pre-Reverie, so it must have been close enough to his kingdom to make the detour worth it. I doubt his escort would allow him to use the Reverse Mountain route.

RE: The next arc: what will it be?
@Captain-M You forgot a small panel of the island right next to Vergo using Geppou.
It's very clearly a flat island, even though the finalized Dressrosa has large rocky borders that hide the island's interior.

As for the twist itself of Yamato staying, my opinion is that Oda did it too late.
I don't think it's too late, but that the lack of Yamato's perspective made it too jarring.
For a long time I thought we'd get an Yamato exploration chapter, in which we delve into his mind, past and dreams, he finds an epiphany about himself, and makes his final decision.
The thing is, that chapter was completely skipped. So his decision feels like a middle finger to the reader.
Still, I hope we get at least a flashback to his talk with Luffy and the others.
This is an annoying trend with modern Oda where he writes things with the intention of ending the chapter in a cliffhanger, so he may sacrifice some scenes that should be there in order to pump fans for the next chapter.
Reading older chapters, you can tell this was never a concern. He could end things with a bang or a whimper or even a laugh. Not trying to be nostalgic or anything, but it's one of the more noticeable changes you can point out in his writing along the years.

RE: Next Straw Hat Crewmates (Vol. 9 - Yamato vs. The World)
@danie This is what I believe as well. Wano was not particularly kind to Carrot and she was mostly treated as a plot thread he had no idea what to do with, to the point he was comfortable ignoring her for large portions of the raid and letting one of the Mink Kings take over what should've been her struggle.
There's enough evidence that Oda just rushed and fumbled everything post-raid, so all payoffs ended up half-baked. Ruler Carrot would be just another one to that pile.

That's why Robin's importance has steadily been decreased since the timeskip, and that's why everybody in the crew knows and supports Luffy's dream (both of them now) while not really caring for each other's.
Well, yeah. Luffy is the Captain and the glue that holds the crew together. Zoro already put his dream in jeopardy for him all the way back in Thriller Bark. The Straw Hats fight for Luffy first and foremost, and then themselves.
While I agree that the whole literal God Nika aspect is dumb, we shouldn't pretend Luffy was not going to be the centrepiece of everything. At least with Robin losing her supposed uniqueness, we can have other crews attempt to forge their own path to the end.

RE: Next Straw Hat Crewmates (Vol. 9 - Yamato vs. The World)
There was this very brief scene at the start of WCI that hinted at the need of a helmsman (Luffy and Brook didn't know what starboard meant, so they failed at understanding Nami's directions), but it was a very eleventh hour thing since Jinbe was already heavily set up to join in that arc anyway.

Clues cue us in character's motivations, actions or behaviors that are related to the events.
Totally unrelated characters that are completely unaware of the plot mentioning a recurring theme are not clues to solve a mystery. They can just as much be red herings.
Sure whatever. To you, clues are nudges when they aren't convenient to your argument.
You can't have this cake and eat it too. You keep up making completely arbitrary arguments based on the littlest things, and then try to call out similar arguments. Reminder that you kept going about Atlas being uploaded in the Punk Records and controlling the Dome, even though such a thing hadn't been established beforehand. But then you say some form of remote technology can't exist because it hasn't been established beforehand, even though Oda can reveal such a thing at any moment because he's the writer, which is an argument you use ALL THE TIME.
Stop being dishonest Deicide. Arguing like this is a bore. "Oda can do anything based on anything, but those things, they don't count".

I am a Big Mom fan, so I obviously have my bias, but I want to believe what we saw in this chapter is not Oda saying "Shanks >>>>> other Emperors", but simply "just because these guys defeated Emperors before it doesn't mean they have cleared that level. THIS is what an Emperor looks like when they are seriously trying to take you down".
The thing is that Law was able to inflict some damage on Blackbeard and his crew, so the framing is definitely not equal. Blackbeard currently needs 3 of his main officers + himself to take on Law's 21-man crew while Shanks only acted by himself.
Shanks is clearly above the other Emperors.
Teach is a terrible example. Just like Luffy, he is a character that is getting stronger as the story progresses. We have no idea if current Teach is already at the level Oda wants him to be by the end.
Shanks, Linlin and Kaido (and previously Newgate) are not characters who are still getting stronger.Teach has around the same age as Shanks, to the point they actually participated in the same fight as children. Their bounties are also almost the same.
It's weird to say Teach still has room to grow while Shanks hit his ceiling already.

RE: Next Straw Hat Crewmates (Vol. 9 - Yamato vs. The World)
Again, I don't really see the mood for a toast now. All the Straw Hats are in that "let's all do our usual routine" phase where they just fuck around and wait for the next story to start as we see what's going with other groups.
Toasts are used to conclude arcs. We are already in the next one.

RE: Next Straw Hat Crewmates (Vol. 9 - Yamato vs. The World)
@theackwardstation This is actually another problem Carrot has. Her fighting style is too undercooked and not particularly creative.
She only has two named techniques (Eleclaw and Electrical Luna, plus the combo move she used with Wanda that was just a double Eleclaw), whereas SH candidates tend to have numerous named moves by the time they join. People say Yamato was taking too much from Brook, but Carrot wasn't doing anything special either, especially now that Nami has a flying, homing lightning cloud. Even Law does more interesting things with lightning.
It was one reason I thought Yamato was set to join. She had a very impressive moveset in a series where secondary characters are lucky to get 2 or 3 moves. And the use of a club and wolf form made her different enough from Brook to stand on her own.
And that's not taking in account the incredibly situational circumstances behind Sulong.

RE: What do you think about the Seraphims ?
Yeah. Their whole existence is a big payoff to the buildup started by Vegapunk's introduction in Water 7.
Every arc since then went on to reveal a bit more about the science behind the Pacifista.
-
RE: Chapter 1090: Kizaru
@Daz said in Chapter 1090: Kizaru:
Anyways, regarding the Seraphim discussion, remember how Sanji had a moment during Whole Cake where he was freaked out over the Germa cloning business, and how Germas treatment of their clones were used to frame them as Evil? Even if you personally want to dismiss any humanity in the clearly emotion-expressing Seraphim, theres precedence in the story for characters finding this whole thing freaky.
Keep in mind that the Pacifista are no less clones than the Seraphim, but no one seems to be protesting their use. I suppose that since they are all cyborgs with programming, they are not intended to be viewed as more than machines. It's different from the Germa clones, who appear to be 100% human and act as much, unaware of their real nature. Sanji of all people would think of the Germa soldiers as regular citizens since he interacted with them all the time as a kid, so it's appropriate that he would more shocked than anyone.
We also have to acknowledge that Vegapunk is just as surprised as anyone else about the Seraphim showing signs of free will lately, so any ethical dilemma wouldn't be as clear in a first view. Punk himself acts like everything the Seraphim do is following a programming.

Honorable mention: Izo just dies offscreen. What the fuck? At least Ashura had a proper moment. Izo's death, however, completely came out of nowhere.
- Best character of the year
Honestly, Blackbeard. It was fun seeing him around causing chaos to all sort of people out of opportunism.
- Worst character of the year
Momo. Just felt like Oda was wanking him too much in detriment of more interesting characters.
Honorable mention: Carrot. Oda really did not even bother to give her a proper conclusion. Almost like he needed to give her a consolation prize after making her do nothing in Onigashima.
- Best new character of the year
Dr. Vegapunk. Technically not new, but he has been pretty entertaining so far.
I generally like all the Vegapunks too.

If Oda will play the card of having Straw Hat characters reacting to the endangerment of children, or cloning, treating others purely as battle assets, robbing someone of free will etc then expecting actual on-panel followthrough on this regarding the seraphim is not some absurd notion, some unrealistic expectation to have. When Mr 3 meets Crocodile again at impel down he reacts in a way that reflects their prior relationship, but when the crew, with their entire backlog of personal principles and moral stances and reactions meet the seraphim people are unreasonable for expecting any sort of reaction or interrogation? Not even a tiny little bit?
I think you're giving the SH too much credit. Most of them shouldn't be familiar enough with the technologies behind the Seraphim to be able to form solid opinions on them and the circumstances so far have put them all as enemies. It's difficult to see Nami thinking on the children when one of them was about to kill her with lasers and swimming martial arts.
Humans in general don't react against aggressors with pity, and Nami is supposed to be among the most human of the crew. She had a bigger problem with S-Shark being like Jinbe because Jinbe is her friend and crewmate, but that itself didn't override her instinctive need to fight back and save herself. She is still a thief and pirate after all, and she's not going to act on behalf of weaponized kids that can be used against her or others. She will obviously react differently than when she did at PH, when the giant children begged her to save them.
Oda saying Nami has a soft spot for children and women in a SBS doesn't preclude her from thundering the shit out of Ms. Doublefinger, Kalifa or Ulti, or being ok with Usopp shooting Bao Huang. She's not like Sanji, who's so inhumanely stuck to his chivalry (which has been pointed several times to be abnormal) that he won't raise a finger against enemy women. Having principles does not mean characters need to always act a certain way. Otherwise, Chopper would never fight anyone because that would go against the Hippocratic Oath.

RE: Greg: Teacher of SUPER " OP " course !
For convenience, I'll post the timeline about when each Warlord joined in relation to the present:
At least 17 years ago: Crocodile. He was said to have joined in his twenties (SBS 78) and he is currently 46. The exact date isn't clear, but we know Crocodile was already a Arabasta hero when he was 30.
13 years ago: Hancock. Became a Warlord at 18, after her first campaign.
At least 12 years ago: Moria. His Vivre Card says he was already a Warlord when he met Hogback. This is the minimum. Worth noting that he already had a 320 million bounty when he fought Kaidou just one year after Roger's execution, so he could very well predate Crocodile.
11 years ago: Jinbe. See flashback.
10 years ago: Doflamingo. Blackmailed his way into the group.
We don't know Mihawk and Kuma 's joining dates, but we do know Kuma was still with the Revolutionaries 12 years ago (Luffy's flashback).
3-5 years ago: Ace gets invited, but refuses. The implication here is that an unknown character gave up the title for whatever reason. It also means either Kuma or Mihawk replaced this one.
2 years ago: Blackbeard, replacing Crocodile. We all saw it.
Law, Weevil and Buggy joined in the timeskip, replacing Jinbe, Moria and Blackbeard.

This is pointless because Luffy already IS treated as an Emperor, having protocols and everything to confront him.
What Luffy needs to prove is that he can take on an Admiral 1-on-1, so he can at least show he's on Rayleigh's level. This is the bare minimum.
Why need to prove that exactly? He has already beaten Kaido. Who is he obligated to prove himself to?
Kaidou fought many people, so putting it all on Luffy's cred would be unfair, especially since Luffy had a break to regain his power after falling undersea.
No one says Luffy beat Doflamingo decisively, especially considering Law's crippling move and all the gladiators banding together to allow Luffy a final break. It's ok to win like that because making allies is a ability Luffy has and he's not obliged to fight fair, but there is a point where he needs to rely on himself only.

RE: Chapter 1091: Sentomaru
Even Lucci actually agrees with Kaku, but he and Akainu make a good point to interpret Luffy's appearance in a government territory as a declaration of war.
It is admittedly a stupid protocol, since BB actually went on to take 500 Marines hostage while all the official Marines just watched with only Koby stepping up.
Regardless, Luffy's status is not fake news, it is for real.

RE: Next Straw Hat Crewmates (Vol. 10 - Egghead)
@Shiebs Wano was the big turnaround arc of the NW, being built up since Punk Hazard and having a scope that was as big, if not bigger than Marineford.
It was pretty much consensus that Wano was the last chance for anyone else to join, which is why arguments became fiercer than ever. Then the Yamato fakeout happened in the wonkiest way possible.
Doesn't help that by the end of the arc, we got an official group term for the 9 SH that follow Luffy (they're now Senior Officers, akin to Whitebeard's Division Commaners, Kaidou's Tobiroppo and Big Mom's Ministers), plus a scene where he shares his true dream with everybody else (and we see all their reactions in the same double page). Those two things do seem to indicate we're not getting any more newcomers, special exceptions like Vivi nothwithstanding, as they feel like things Oda was waiting to do for a long time, but needed the crew to be complete first.
Plus, it seems obvious the SH will leave Egghead with guests, be it Vegapunk, Bonney or whoever (hard to see anyone getting left behind if Egghead is to be nuked), so that's more people taking space in the ship.

In any case, it's the type of thing Usopp is not really known for. He is always the first to react in surprise and the last to be proactive. And when he is proactive, it's because he has thought up some asinine plan.
Even if Sanji favors the safety of women, the move he pulled is not out of character in a vacuum. He's always been one of the smarter, more pragmatic crewmembers, especially compared to Luffy and Zoro.

However, Teach could use this power for people who feel hatred, fear, anger or jealousy towards him.
In a way, he could become nigh on untouchable because you would have to be neutral towards him as you fought him.
You mean Mero Mero right? It's confusing because Teach also wanted that one.
About the explanation, it's still unknown if it's from a legitimate source or not. The poster who brought this information claims Oda said this on an interview, but no one could verify if it's true.

Someone in Twitter told me that Saturn's DF may not be the ushi oni, but another simillar japanese yokai, a type of dust or earth spider. Could his powers be earth-related?
You must mean the Tsuchigumo, which literally means "Earth Spider". They're somewhat similar to the Jorogumo that Black Maria was inspired by, but they're less into shapeshifting and more into environmental illusions (like invisible webs).

@Daz
I appreciate both the moments that highlight the characters and show what makes them tick, and the big plot-driven moments. OP has been too much of the later, we need more character moments and more characters as motivators of the narrative.Or else you get Egghead, in which the main characters get endless exposition over monitors while the protagonist ends up being Lucci because he's the one facing odds, challenges and betrayals to achieve his objective.
This is the Final Saga though. Big plot-driven moments SHOULD be the point.
The Straw Hats had 1090 chapters to develop as characters. They don't need more moments, especially when many other important characters are still waiting in line for theirs. Vegapunk, who's been hinted since Water 7 and has had a huge role behind the setting, is only now being explored.
And, frankly, if Oda absolutely should put focus on character moments, it should be on the likes of Franky, Brook or Jinbe. Robin does not need more Ohara angst (we had a whole arc to deal with this already) and I've had enough of Sanji's nazi roots and food philosophies.
At some point, it just becomes old and not interesting to read the same beats of "Sanji does not like wasting food". At least Whole Cake helped reframe a lot of his character to put those quirks under a different light. Wano famine would just be a retread and not introduce anything new, and it's not worth it to explore just to see how the character "ticks". I've already know how Sanji ticks since Baratie and how the ticks were built during Whole Cake.
In other words, there are corners that should be cut for the sake of readership, especially with protagonists that have been in the same adventure for nearly 30 years. I'm sure he knows this more than anyone, which is why he's been focusing more on the world lately.

What is the BB pirate motive and what do you think about Teach's heritage?
Seems obvious by now that Teach is Rocks' son, starting with his ship being named after Xebec.

RE: A New Anime Opening + ENDINGS ARE COMING BACK!!!
I admit I am curious about the filler villain that would need to succeed motherfucking Kaidou.

RE: Chapter 1109: Interception
Yeah, Oda usually doesn't name the first installment nowadays, likely to keep us guessing who's gonna star in it (although in Bege and Germa's case, it was obvious).
In this case, there are many characters that have an association with Onigashima, including Momo just dropping it from above.

@Deicide said in Chapter 1109: Interception:
He can have an awakened Devil Fruit AND some other new power system on top of it. I don't see how that's far-fetched. He has shown a lot of psychic-like abilities that seem divorced from his zoan form.
This is like when we were pre-timeskip and haki was introduced. Devil Fruits aren't the only possible explanation for weird phenomena, and it's not like we haven't seen some sort of psychic powers or magic before, they just weren't as powerful.
Oda has already gone on record in discarding magic existing, as he wants DFs to remain the closest thing to it.
That said, the Elders' abilities could very well be just technological in nature. We know Vegapunk can teleport too, and rather casually, so a form of warp tech exists. And the regeneration could be an application of the organoid tech Vegapunk has stored in his lab.

New One Piece: Have a Game celebration video.
Somebody pointed out that there appears to be new Odyssey footage in the upper left corner at the 1 minute mark. DLC soon? -
What's next for OP movies?
So we just had news that Film RED has surpassed Film Z to become the most successful OP film ever. The reason for this success, from what I see, can be attributed to the following:
-
Granting Shanks, a long-established character, primary focus and revealing some major info about him, which likely attracted older fans. Older movies, while they did include canon characters as well, it was never to the point of tying them so much to the movie's plot.
-
Uta ended up being a massive marketing icon herself, being directly related to Shanks, voiced by Ado and something different from the usual OP Film villain. If Shanks brought in the older crowd, then Uta was a hit with the younger one.
-
Oda's bigger involvement, something that wasn't seen since Strong World. As a result, Oda ended up promoting the film heavily, drawing some Uta-dedicated pages and even showcasing more of Shanks in the actual story.
So I'm thinking how next OP films could replicate such success. Will they attempt to focus in another established character like Shanks and reveal some of their background? Will we get another female character similar to Uta? Will Oda be greatly involved once more?

RE: 1074: ''Believe in Momo - Luffy's Final Move!''
A very interesting detail is that letter "O" stays prominent through most of the opening (pay attention to the middle of every shot and you won't unsee it), likely as a reference to the moon/sun.

RE: Chapters 1050 - 1055
@electricmastro She would trade being Queen if it meant her dad still being alive. She's still a 18-year old.
Plus, Arabasta is in tumoil right now and she's on the other side of the world at the moment. She's pretty much powerless to do anything.

RE: One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 (Switch, PS4, XBox One, PC; 2020)
According to this datamine list:
We're getting Yamato (all forms), Uta, Roger(!), Rayleigh(!!), Garp (young version), Koby (good timing) and Luffy/Law with their Onigashima outfits. Plus Kaidou with a Hybrid form and Nika Luffy, unsurprisingly.
Looks like the focusis Film Red and the Oden flashback.

RE: A New Anime Opening + ENDINGS ARE COMING BACK!!!
Really looks like we could be getting some post-arc filler, which is frankly inevitable due to Oda's more frequent breaks.

RE: Chapter 1058: New Emperors
@Deicide We know from the raws that it's not 1,111,000,000.
The four final digits of his bounty are 1100, I think. Japanese numerics are weird.

No one eats veggies for fast food though. And no, lettuce on your bacon-filled burger doesn't count.
But yes, OP games should have a bit more effort in those names. Just give Drake a bunch of X puns like his X-Calibur move.

RE: The next arc: what will it be?
If we believe the map in rurubu magazine, then they are heading towards Sphinx, while Kid goes to Hachinosu and Law to Elbaf.
Of course, nothing prevents a white strom-like event from wild carding the SH to somewhere else, but I think Oda will want Luffy to talk to Ace one last time.
-
RE: Chapter 1058: New Emperors
@Deicide Could also be Oda's mistake, but until it's stated, the number SHOULD be 1,100,001,100 according to the raws.
I assume Stephen just didn't have a good way to depict Zoro's bounty with just four digits.
