People might be exaggerating the whole "shortened lifespan" thing. It's not going to cut away 75% of his life making him die at age 22. Rationally it could mean that he dies at age ~100 instead of 105 (or something)

RE: Next Crew Member Speculation (Ver 3.0)
Heh, yeah, you're right about how Perona could be added to the "probability zone" and how DF's are unique in their own right.
Our current problem is just that there's too many people in this probability zone to get a good clue as to what Oda's thinking. Boa, Jinbei, Perona, Croc, Ace, Margarite, etc, etc. Too many to count, really, theories everywhere.

RE: Next Crew Member Speculation (Ver 3.0)
One can see it that way, yes.
However, despite similarities between similarities between existing characters, the strawhats are probably getting their last spots filled up (if we'll follow Luffy's "original plan").
Therefore, it is in my opinion, that the last slots should be filled by something completely unique. This could just be my opinion, however, and not what Oda is planning.
Hell, noone knows what Oda is planning :ninja:

RE: Next Crew Member Speculation (Ver 3.0)
Very true, Robin is another example, and that is exactly the reason why some of us are opposed to having a similar character (power-wise). Two characters wholly dependant on Devil Fruits would after all be quite…boring, really. After all, diversity is the flavor of life, no?
And as for Perona's physical performance, we saw exactly how helpless she became when trapped with the glue from Usopp. If she was truly capable of any physical feat, she probably would have found some way to escape the situation, or would you disagree?

RE: Next Crew Member Speculation (Ver 3.0)
To you all who support Perona as the new crew member, did you think about just how she is the perfect example of how reliant people become on their Devil Fruits?
Take away Perona's devil fruit, and she's weaker than the average marine fodder, she has practically no fighting skills at all, and would get completely destroyed by any opponent in the New World as they would either avoid the ghosts or just take her out in one hit before she can act.
So unless we just want a devil fruit in the crew, I wouldn't imagine Perona is a good choice…really.

RE: Chapter 566 "Fierce Attack" Discussion
They cut the transmission off (through Aokiji) after Squardo gave his explanation, but before the truth of the Marines' deception came out.
So yeah, the civilian populace most likely believe Whitebeard to be a traitor to his own allies, by now :ninja:

RE: Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread
I find that people tend to underestimate Enel. Remember, the Goro Goro no Mi is referred to by Robin as "one of the few fruits considered to be invincible". Add the fact that he has the mantra ability.
This makes me believe he would be on par with Admiral-level opponents (I don't count Haki usage, since we don't know for sure who can use it)Oh yeah, and his Thunder-God form is as large as the entire island. Well, at least as large as Oars..

RE: Shichibukai strength
Perhaps Enel would seem underwhelming compared to some of the more upstanding people of the new world, but part of his power is basically the overwhelming power of the fruit itself.
For example, anyone without a logia (Blackbeard excluded) could get instantly defeated by a single attack, and I have seen no evidence that supports the theory that Haki can stop the power of the devil fruit, only to solidify the body of the user back to it's normal state.Basically, my guess is that Enel would certainly be top tier even in the new World. Well, if he started taking fights seriously…
