RE: Chapter 1067: Punk Records
@Nectar So, Luffy will have to use his powers to effectively giant fist Uranus into submission.
(I'm so sorry for this post. XD)

RE: Chapter 1074: Mark III
Mark 1: The original Pacifica
Mark 2: If that police-looking one wasn't it, then we haven't seen them.
Mark 3: Introduced this chapter. -
RE: Chapter 1076: Old Friends
@Deicide For what it's worth, Scandinavia during the Viking Age was not particularly unified, as Norway alone had several petty kings and independent Jarls.

RE: The next arc: what will it be?
I'd like a small arc, like a palate refresher, nothing too crazy, and puts the spotlight on the Straw Hats alone. There can be something like a clue of the 4th RP, or they learn of some trouble nearby for the first big arc of the saga, but you know what I mean.

RE: Chapter 1064: Egghead Labophase
As a child, my hair was almost white-blonde, and now I'm a brunette. It's not that absurd.
-
RE: Post-Wano plotline roundup: Marcoh and the specters of Ace and Whitebeard
@wolfwood I like to think he was secretly jealous Oden left with Roger and never came back so he cut all ties with him. :P
-
RE: Chapter 1067: Punk Records
Yeah, if the Marines worked like real life, the Chief Petty Officers would be the real ass kickers.
-
RE: Volume 105 Predictions/Discussion
I'm pretty sure Carrot is there because it's the Year of the Rabbit, just like Sengoku's Goat was there, as it was the Year of the Goat then,

RE: Chapter 1073: Miss Buckingham Stussy
@Deicide said in Chapter 1073: Miss Buckingham Stussy:
On the other side of the coin, the Gandhi-looking sword-guy seems to be the most merciless.
Well, that's ironic.

RE: Next Straw Hat Crewmates (Vol. 10 - Egghead)
@Deicide On that note, it's a bit annoying how no one ever seems to notice how bizarre the Rumble Ball is, in-story. Like, Chopper has invented this crazy-ass pill that makes Zoans have strange new forms, and no one seems to blink an eye at what it does.

RE: Chapter 1082: Let's Go and Take It!
I think this chapter really summed up why I dislike the Marines.
"We are the protector of the people!
....Well, except when our horribly corrupt government taxes said people into poverty to give our insanely decadent nobility all the wealth they want, that is. Then we can't do anything for you. Sorry".

RE: Chapter 1084: The Attempted Murder of a Celestial Dragon
@Deicide So, I had done a bit of research when Saturn's name was first revealed:
https://japantruly.com/names-of-planets-in-japanese/
So, the first five planets around Earth, and the first discovered were Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. In Japanese, they are named after the Five Classical Chinese Elements. So, Mars = Fire Star, for example.
But the later three; Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, are all "King" stars. Neptune is the "Sea King Star", Uranus the "Heavenly King Star" and Pluto the "Darkness King Star".
Shirahoshi, who commands the Sea Kings, Blackbeard, the user of the Dark-Dark Fruit, and Vivi, who could have lived in the heavens...

RE: Chapter 1086: The Five Elders
Jaygarcia Saturn
Marcus Mars
Shepard Jupiter
Topman Mercury
Ethanbaron VenusJust having their names be just like how I typed them sounds a lot better, especially Venus'

RE: Chapter 1095: Better off Dead in this World
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the recent breaks are a combo of Oda working with the live action show and fully recovering from his eye surgery.

RE: … and he turned out to be Rocks' son
https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/World_Timeline
According to the timeline, Dragon would have been 17 years old around the God Valley Incident, whereas Teach and Shanks would have been 2 and 1 years old, respectively. So, I do believe we can count Dragon out of the equation.
But what if both Shanks and Teach are Xebec's sons and half-brothers?

RE: Welcome Back! (2022 Edition)
sobs
You don't know what it was like having to be at WorstGeneration all this time....
-
RE: "One Piece Odyssey" trademark registered by Shueisha and Bandai Namco
Yeah, you're probably right, Ivotas. But I still am pretty sure my picks will be right.
Have to admit though, the thought of doing an RPG side quest of helping a baker get some flour while the Battle of Marineford is going on all around you would have been an amusing visual.
-
RE: Chapter 1059: The Matter Involving Captain Koby
@wolfwood It all ties to this "Rocky Port Incident". Basically, Law was the "mastermind" of the incident, whatever it was, Koby protected a lot of civilians during it, and it gave Blackbeard an advantage in some way to defeat Wang Zhi and take Pirate Island.

RE: Welcome Back! (2022 Edition)
God, I've missed this place. Do you know how nice it is to have a good debate without it inevitably deteriorating into "LOL ZORO > LANJI!".

RE: "One Piece Odyssey" trademark registered by Shueisha and Bandai Namco
@Ivotas https://opflag.bn-ent.net/system/guest.php
It seems that, yes, there will be guest party members in certain sections.
-
RE: Chapter 1059: The Matter Involving Captain Koby
@Ivotas That was from Crocodile's Vivre Card. And Moria's info came from Hogback's flashback.
-
RE: Blackbeard and Kuma are the Same Race
If Blackbeard was taller, I'd almost suggest they are descendants of Giants or something.
-
RE: One Piece Live-Adaptation Drama Announced
Did they confirm Kuro and Krieg, by the way?
-
RE: Chapter 1059: The Matter Involving Captain Koby
@Ivotas There probably were other Warlords who have since died or been revoked or what have you. But like how there logically must have been more members of Kaido's crew before people like Page-One, Ulti, Who's Who and Sasaki joined, it's not mentioned because there's enough backstory characters as is. :P
-
RE: The ways Orochi's existence wrecks the manga. (SPOILERS)
I think what would have been best if Kaido just came to Wano and conquered it straightaway, and made himself Shogun, and Oden is either lost for 5 years, or something. But he manages to come back, incite a revolt, but is defeated and dies. Or alternatively, hostages for all the Daimyo are held by Kaido and when he goes out, they save them and then begins the revolt.
So, Kaido would have both the Beast Pirates and the Shogunal Army under his direct command, without Orochi as a middleman.

RE: One Piece Live-Adaptation Drama Announced
Dragon doesn't look like Garp or Luffy in the manga, either, though
-
RE: One Piece on ICE ~Episode of Alabasta~
The irony of an ice skating show focused on the Desert arc is not lost upon me.
-
RE: Chapter 1066: The Will of Ohara
@Daz, regarding the incompetence issue, a lot of real life authoritarian regimes generally tend to be pretty poorly run and their soldiers little more then dumb thugs. So the WG being like that isn't too unrealistic.
-
RE: Greg: Teacher of SUPER " OP " course !
Say, Greg, I had a thought about Imu, the Gorosei and all that. So, it's generally thought by most fans that Imu is the evil super mastermind behind the fall of the Great Kingdom, the formation of the WG with them as the secret God-King and all that. Now, I recently played a game called Triangle Strategy, where one of the three countries is a theocracy ruled by a Hierophant, who was supposed to be their God's agent on earth, but no one could see them. Then it turns out, they were a magical golem created by the person who was nominally their representative.
Now, I wonder if Imu was actually some sort of creation used by the original founders to have some sort of divine justification for their conquest. Like, Imu is an artificially-created false God figure.

RE: One Piece Live-Adaptation Drama Announced
@onemoment Because he's the Big Time Rookie, of course.
-
RE: One Piece on ICE ~Episode of Alabasta~
Random fun fact: Nobunari Oda is legit a direct descendent from Oda Nobunaga.
-
RE: Chapter 1067: Punk Records
No offense, Ivotas, but sometimes you way overanalyze relatively minor details about a shonen. Yes, the Cipher Pol unit isn't very realistic compared to real life intelligence and security agencies....but neither is most any organization in One Piece. Like, no way would any real life analogue to the World Government put up with the Celestial Dragon's bullshit for long. But it's a work of fantastical fiction.

RE: Greg: Teacher of SUPER " OP " course !
Also, if they were an opposite sex clone of Kaido, why do they have different hair color, skin tone, height....
-
RE: One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 (Switch, PS4, XBox One, PC; 2020)
It's a shame Koei only does Xtreme Legends for Samurai and Dynasty Warriors, as this game could have really benefitted from one.
-
RE: Chapter 1069: All Things Are Brought Into This World With Hope
@Razh Wow, that came off as really rude.
-
RE: Volume 105 Predictions/Discussion
@All-Fiction Because Oda doesn't dig his style anymore.
-
RE: Street Fighter 6
@Shiebs I feel like the SF series really got revitalized now. I enjoyed SFV, but it's not unfair to say it felt too much like IV in character design, stages, gameplay, etc. whereas 6 is new and refreshingly different.
-
RE: 1050: ''Dragons Collide! Momonosuke's Resolve!''
@CosmicDebris Well, when you get knocked off a horse (woman), you got to get back on.
-
RE: Chapter 1071: The Hero Deploys
I don't think they'll escape in time before Kizaru arrives. So, I suspect this arc will be a bit longer then we expect.
-
RE: General Video Game Discussion
@Shiebs Like A Dragon: Ishin, Fire Emblem: Engage and Starfield come to mind.
-
RE: Chapter 1074: Mark III
It would be funny if Shaka betrays Vegapunk because as the "Good" aspect, he's disgusted by how amoral he is.
-
RE: Greg: Teacher of SUPER " OP " course !
Also, Giants live for really long, so their perception of time is probably different then humans.

Mortal Kombat 1
It all begins again.....only this time, Liu Kang is now a god and the Keeper of Time. And I have a feeling Kronika's fellow Titans aren't too happy about what he's done.
