I think Coribou is way stronger than Caribou, he is just too stupid to be the boss.
Yet I can't see how they could be a danger while their bounties are less than pre-war Luffy, and when Luffy was trained for more than one year by Rayleigh, and Zoro for maybe two years by Mihawk.

But ok, let's say Caribou is hiding his true strength and still planning to kill them one by one from the inside… who do you think he will target first ?

I vote for Luffy, because:

1. he is the captain, so people that really dont know the SH will think he is the strongest, and the column of the SH

2)Luffy is the only user of Haki (as far as we know) so he is the onlyone capable of hurting Caribou ( if he really is Logia)

3)he is the one that has the biggest bountie (did i spell it correctly? xD)

If you read carefully in the manga you can see that Cari is waiting for an oportunity to win against the SH (they are 1 vs 9). this is why he is hiding out his logia…..this is a very important point Oda gives us, because know we know that Logia user can hide their powers when ever they want

I'm not saying that Caribou is joining but I think the same thing will happen with caribou like what happend with Ace when he got on Whitebeard his ship.
Caribou will try to kill Luffy while he is off guard and luffy will just defeat him everytime

I quite see it more as:

Caribou thinking: "now that Luffy is at sleeep i will kill him"
just going to absorb him when a SH member enters the room.... (and so on until they finally kick him off)
