RE: 703: ''A Difficult Path - Law and Corazon's Life Journey''
The art direction for this week and last has really been on point. This was probably the best-looking episode that Kitazaki's been in charge of so far.
Though I still need to get used to his voice being so deep, it's appropriate that Yamadera's performance as Corazon really stole the show here, especially during his breakdown at the end. That was definitely some of the most genuine-sounding crying we've heard recently in this series. It sounds like Sengoku's new seiyuu is trying to imitate the old one's graveliness. He still sounds a little off, but I guess it's better than the "slightly older Sanji" sound he had in Unlimited World R and Film Z.
The ending, yeah, weird. It would've worked had they just kept the part with Law and Doflamingo since Luffy's fight down below is completely superfluous right now to the context the flashback is trying to provide.
Sengoku's voice in Film Z was Sengoku's first voice, I don't know why you are complaining about it.

RE: General Anime Discussion Thread
I really like how the shiny parts of CoA have a différent color for each character.
I wonder if Pica and Zoro will get their own.Is this true? Do you have images?

RE: General Anime Discussion Thread
yeah, thats not gonna happen. the arc isnt even half over, were practically at the climax give or take.
plus i don't think an arc has had 2 openings,at least not recently.
Punk Hazard had 2 openings. I think there will be a new opening on april or octuber.
-
RE: General Anime Discussion Thread
Normally, yes. But I don't think it will happen right now because they've changed some scenes in the opening, so the new opening might air until april or so.

RE: 666: "Winner Decided!? The End to the D-Block Bash"

RE: A Study of One Piece Animation
Fukuzawa coming back is good news, as is the Tokoro/Isochi team-up.
Yeah, but this might mean that Takashi Ootsuka has left One Piece :/

RE: A Study of One Piece Animation
I'm fine with filler. I'd love one. There's no way that they can go into Dressrosa without it. They literally have to start doing filler episodes because of Oda's new schedule. Hopefully this will be a long filler so we can finally break away from the one chapter pacing and the future canon arcs can have better pacing.
626 is Otsuka's episode…
Well, I hope this filler won't last more than 4 episodes...

RE: A Study of One Piece Animation
I think 625 is directed or maybe storyboarded by Endo Tetsuya.
I don't know any of the other names though.

RE: A Dream Come True!? Uncut DVD's In Latin America!
THE charateristics for the mentioned series and other proyects in home format would be specifically on DVD and Blu Ray, mentioning that they will have their original language with Spanish and Portuguese subtitles and Latin American Audio with the most famous dubbing that we have heard since always. They also say that series like Inuyasha, whose first seasons have been dubbed, will keep their original cast.
Do you know when will that happen?

RE: 618: ''Invasion! The Assassins from Dressrosa''
I really liked it :D

RE: 613: ''Secret Move Explosion! Zoro's Strongest One-Sword Style Move!''
That was something that bugged me about the chapter/episode. Tashigi having a flashback about why he didn't finish her. But still taking it that it was because she was a woman. But well Tashigi isn't that smart anyways. Idealistic and easily offended and stuborn, yes.
Overall I liked the use of terror versus haki use.
16 characters of that flashback was in the manga too.

Thank you very much, Roro Chan.
I'm already listening it!

RE: 585: "Shichibukai! Trafalgar Law"
But see, that's exactly the problem; this is a problem that's been around for far too long, and has gotten worse over time! Seriously, I never cared more about the pacing than I have since the climax of Fishman Island was about to start, and some would say the pacing was that bad even before then. Saying "deal with it" is a lousy excuse, because this shouldn't be something we have to deal with; it's sheer incompetence and demonstrates a lack of care for the series. Toei has had plenty of opportunities to add filler arcs, or even to extend the episodes in more entertaining ways, like extending some of the action scenes (with actual action, and not just the opponents glaring at each other). But they rarely do anymore (yes, I said anymore - I seriously feel that they were good at extending scenes earlier on). The problem now is that Toei is extending and dragging out scenes that don't warrant or benefit from it, like just showing people running, or milking a running gag until it's unbearable, or just showing random shots while acting like it's somehow building more tension than it actually is. And yes, they've done all that before, but here's the thing: it wasn't good then either. Considering that they're doing it more often now, and not even as effectively, and we have the right to be upset.
No, this is not a new problem. But they aren't doing anything to solve it, and they're doing enough to make it worse. That, along with the so-so animation we usually get from the show, is why I'm disappointed. There is good stuff here, don't get me wrong, and there's even been a few moments where they extending the scenes while still keeping them entertaining. But stop acting like this is something we should just "deal with". If it's not entertaining, then why should we watch it? It's legitimate criticism that makes me question why I should watch a series I love.
New problem or not, it's still a big issue that Toei is running out of excuses for.
I understand that, but that's not the matter here, the matter is that every week there are people complaining about the pacing, everybody understands that, but if you don't like anime, just drop it, don't come here to complaining about something that is not going to change, at least for now.
And if you wanna say something, you should use another thread, like One Piece Anime, or filler vs pacing, and say more things about this specific episode.
BTW, I liked this episode, the filler was good, and of course the animation has gotten a little better, and that's good.

RE: One Piece Film Z (Wrap Canon From the Manga Not Yet in the Anime with Spoiler Tags)
There's a cam rip, in really bad quality.
Also the blu ray will be released by July, so fansubs are gonna wait it.
You should wait until fansubs release it, but if you want to see the animation quality or whatever, the camrip is pretty good.

RE: General Anime Discussion Thread
It could be. Though if it happens it'll join Kaze wo Sagashite as the exception of exceptions since it also wouldn't have been announced ahead of time.
Also, you have to consider that unlike first episodes, now there's a new series director, and since the end of thriller bark that he took control, there has been all the exceptions you're saying.
-
RE: General Anime Discussion Thread
Those are the exceptions to the rule though. The far majority of the OP opening have started in either October or April (or pretty close to those dates). And the exceptions tend to have obvious causes: Kaze wo Sagashite began with the Strong World filler and One day occurred in conjunction with the start of Marineford arc (which in of itself was a rare occurence).
Don't you think that the start of Punk Hazard ard could be one of those "exceptions"?

RE: One Piece Anime's 2-Hour - Nami Special (25th August)
That would be epic, though in all honesty I think the older arcs need reboots like this due to the animation… like Skypiea.
And the newer arcs need rebbots due to the pacing. lol
