      Holy shit. I just got done watching the 4Kids episode "Roguetown" for the first time. I have to say, no words can describe how awful Tashigi's voice is. She sounds like my aunt when she was on menopause. I think she might actually be worse that Vivi's.

      I'm glad One Piece is off CN as long as we don't have to see reruns of THAT.

      @Buuhan1:

      It'd just be a shame to see the network go, it's been through a lot.

      TechTV - separate
      G4 - separate
      G4techTV - Joined; massive layoffs
      G4 - Still joined; most tech (TechTV) and gaming (G4) has been dispelled. Making it pretty much a Spike clone

      I only ever watch the network anymore for X-Play, I know a lot of people dislike the show but I like it (lol, how big of a hypocrite am I?). But even so, I don't even watch it all that often either.

      And why would you want to? Morgan Manjaw and the limp-wristed geek are all kinds of annoying.

      @Buuhan1:

      Does this series really deserve a thread for a new season?

      Or one for the first for that matter?

      They have an ad for it in Comcast on demand's video section, saying how much of a huge success it was for G4. … I'm afraid G4 isn't gonna be around much longer. 😞

      Hopefully they'll end it and finally launch Animax here in the states.

      If things are so bad that they cancel Flapjack and Chowder, then they'll probably just cancel all of Cartoon Network.

      If watching 4Kids' version was like watching a Satanic cult eating an infant, then Funimation's version is like watching a perfectly normal family raise the same infant. Sure they have their problems, but at least no one gets devoured.

    • Very Serious People

      I'm sure you know people who act a certain way. Always stiff-necked, arrogant, and impatient. Quick to claim credit but slow to accept responsibility. Always ready to loudly boast about the things they think they've accomplished. Never willing to accept criticism. The very definition of mediocre.

      I like to call them "Very Serious People."

      "Very Serious People" are people like Michael Haigney, the 4Kids scriptwriter of Sonic X. Despite knowing absolutely nothing about Sonic or about anything related to Sega, he is quick to point out his non-existent contributions. And when challenged about his claims, simply dismisses them as the rantings of "a few fans," while at the same time never addressing any of them.

      "Very Serious People" are people like Howard Wolfson, the Clinton campaign communications chief. Having never actually held elected office or been involved in a national campaign, he arrogantly dismissed Obama's chances early on. However, when it became clear his candidate was losing, he began a scurrilous charge to both nail down the idea of media sexism in the eyes of Clinton's white female supporters, while at the same time make racist overtones to voters in West Virginia and Kentucky. His candidate having lost, he still refuses to leave the scene, always making sure he stays in the headlines somehow.

      "Very Serious People" are basically the entire crew of CNN. Despite all evidence that they have become miserably out of touch with the average viewer, and despite ratings showing them slipping to third place among the major demographics, they still refuse to change. Blissfully unaware they are, confident that their "seriousness" is what makes them better than "immature" Fox News or MSNBC.

      This is a model of a person that you should never be. Be creative. Be willing to make yourself better. Accept criticism. But most importantly, don't start enjoying the smell of your own farts.

      Lest you end up like the "Very Serious People."

      @bandit_legend:

      Don't know if it's already been talked about elsewhere, I've just finished watching it.

      From what I can tell it was Funi's uncut version with edits made by (I'm guessing) Cartoon Network. Everything remained in tact apart from all the "provocative" Nami scenes, Chopper's "bastard" and the more violent parts such as Nami's leg being impaled and Koza coughing up blood after being stomped on. But still, I was quite surprised with what was left in. "Zoro", Sanji's cig, Luffy's "I wanna kick Crocodile's ass" and blood that didn't drip was all there.

      Wow, did CN finally do something right for a change?

      What about Crocodile's cigar?

      The funny thing is, you can just tell that the fat guy is aware of how much this thing sucks.

      Now that I look at it, the animation really reminds me of Jimmy Neutron. The fact that something made by a professional company is, at best, on par with a show made on one guy's home computer is a bad, bad sign.
