In Chapter 224, BB was presented as a very distinguished opponent. He appeared to stand out with more admirable ideals. Almost like a version of Luffy with a bad moral compass. At that time, I would have certainly pegged BB as the final villain. Even as recently as the Impel Down jail break, BB stands out as a master strategist. His improv skills are reminiscent of one Captain Jack Sparrow. Despite all this, I felt Oda backtracked on that reputation when he portrayed BB at Marineford, where we saw BB’s true colors of cowardice. Since Marineford, I’ve had a hard time accepting that a coward like BB is worthy of being the final villain. I want to see BB bring back those original vibes, if he does I could see him fitting the role of final villain. But he was portrayed so in such a bad light at Marineford it almost made me wonder if Oda himself changed his mind and decided to take BB in a different direction. Unless BB gets some good character development, right now my money is on Im.
Just a simple swashbuckler on the search for One Piece

RE: Chapter 776: The Colosseum Hero
Brilliant conclusion for Kyros. Pain is proof of humanity… and the human has returned! On top of Scarlet's wishes, Kyros himself had his own reasons to keep Rebecca from hurting others. One of the biggest regrets that haunted Kyros was his own past sins. The emphasis he places on keeping her "hands" pure is from his own feelings of impurity that manifested in the form of him being unwilling to even touch his own daughter. His real accomplishment after all these years was protecting Rebecca from ever sharing that same regret. Bravo Kyros! I wish you could sail with the strawhats, but I think Dressrosa needs you.
RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
Well V03, Monet did make it seem that Doffy is actively aspiring to become the pirate king, so I figured that meant every Emperor should be in his cross-hairs same as Luffy. Sure he's going at it at his own pace, but I'm sure he has his own plan to bring down Kaidou.
But you helped me segway into another random theory.. Perhaps Doflamingo really isn't powering up Kaidou's crew. What if the SMILE devil fruits are booby trapped or somehow susceptible to Doflamingo's powers, allowing Doflamingo to control/manipulate all SMILE users. We MAY have seen some version of this with Momonosuke, when he "flew" out of the trash in PH with Doflamingo's words echoing in his mind. Momo's DF was a defective SMILE so it could have been an incomplete glimpse of what is in store for a proper SMILE DF user.
RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
Is there any support here for the idea that Moria might be working for Doflamingo as part of his master plan to bring down Kaidou? During the Whitebeard War, Doflamingo had been hounding Crocodile looking to partner up with him for some reason (I'm guessing he was looking for some help with his Kaidou plan). Considering Crocodile wasn't interested, Moria would have served as a decent fallback. I find it hard to believe that Doflamingo would lose Moria after Moria turned invisible, considering the nature of Doflamingo's haki. I'm sure his Observation Haki is topnotch. Given their mutual interest in Kaidou, as well as Moria's behind-the-scenes activity being depicted during this arc, I feel this theory fits neatly with the current events and opens up some fun options for plot twists as Doflamingo's time on Dressrosa comes to a close.

One piece Manga v.2 Still Exists. I was one of the mods on MSN OPv2. I even know the true story of the mystery of all the site shutdowns over the years:ninja:
We moved the site to Groupbox when MSN Groups shut down in 2008.
I'm still a mod there, but currently inactive (also inactive on this site). I'm kind of taking a break from the internet in general, but when I saw the discussion of v2 in this topic I wanted to let you all know the site is still around
Apply to join the group! The boards aren't as active as they were back in the day, but chat is a lot of fun. Most of the most active members from the 2006 - 2008 era of MSN are still around. Chat every night is very lively and fun!
Let me know if this link doesn't work (if clicking on it doesn't work, try copy/paste)
decided to check it out. didn't look anything like the msn site but then i saw that old banner. very nostalgic
RE: Criticism of One Piece
the timeskip still bothers me. what i really enjoyed about one piece was witnessing the characters grow through their journey. one of my favorite moments in the manga was during zoro's fight against mr. 1, where he pushed himself to cut steel through both strength and reflection. and i was hoping we'd get to see some more "on screen" development of haki at least for luffy, sanji and zoro outside of just initial signs of development. now obviously they'd need a little outside help in terms of someone just telling them that haki exists but it would have been fun to watch them figure it out for themselves (this goes for other skills the crew picked up too. imagine witnessing usopp discover pop green and slowly learn how to use them, or franky slowly surprising us with a new upgrade between each voyage. the main point of losing to kuma should have been that they were getting complacent, not that they weren't growing stronger fast enough. and despite the timeskip the complacency problem still ended up being unresolved and Zoro had to give another one of his 'get serious' speeches… heck nami didn't even figure out they needed a special log post in the new world despite 2 years of studying to be able to navigate it
plus comparing to rival crews and past generations, it also seems strange/disappointing. why didn't kid have to go on break? did ace or shanks ever have to take two years off just to train?
the crew separation was fine as a setup to luffy's journey to impel down and marineford but 2 years of training seemed out of place in this type of adventure
