      Maybe one day, we'll get a fully voiced remake of Sacred Stones. I REALLY wish they keep the same VA for Valter.

      @MetaMario:

      Hahahaha! I've seen that role mentioned, apparently the replacement isn't as good?

      Bailey has voiced Lucina for a significant amount of time - Awakening, Smash 4, Codename Steam, Project X Zone 2, first round of Heroes - so I'm glad there's a very-convincing soundalike to take up the role. I believe Tipton is her understudy; she even took over the role of Kid Trunks for Dragon Ball Super.

      Wait, Project x Zone 2 was dubbed in english?

      So why is is Corrin x Xander an option when they have plenty of conversations in their own game as it is, and why is it only barely behind Matthew Mercer x Matthew Mercer (obviously the japanese fanbase doesn't give a crap about that but still)

      At least the original characters aren't getting the love they don't deserve.

      Got back on Echoes to have some fun with reclassing and actually beat Thabes Labyrinth and forgot how fun the game could get.

      Used one of Forsyth for lulz (the guy is trying so hard! he deserves another chance!) and he ended up a surprisingly good gold knight.
      Made Mathilda a falcon knight and she was more of the same with the added bonus of flight and ORKO almost all terrors.
      Then I made Est a mage because most characters of her archetype are this class anyway. That and letting her have more level-ups to make use of her growth rates.

      On the other hand, the DLC characters turned out pretty underwhelming, gameplay wise at least. Seeing how they're pre-promotes and in many cases have lower stats than their class bases, I couldn't get any use out of them (granted, this is post-game)

      @MetaMario:

      Part 2 is done.
      [hide]
      Short and sweet, I like that it focused on the other side of post-war Tellius - an inexperienced Elincia trying her best and dealing with rebellion and distrust. Elincia as a unit is pretty damn useful - flying + healing + Amiti is OP.
      Honorable mention goes to Haar, who is nearly unkillable.

      Unfortunately, the main drawback is that units rotate around a lot, whereas part 1 had a consittent roster.
      -I wanted to give Marcia and Astrid as much EXP as I could but I suspect they're gonna be mediocre later on.
      -Laguz were already kinda disadvantaged in PoR, so here Lethe and Mordy sadly do not fare any better. They did whatever damage was needed of them.
      -Kieran is completely solid (and better than Makalov, who can't double a damned thing), but he needs a little more speed. Geoffrey is one of your best units in part 2, and as such he carried most of his titular map.
      -As for Neph and Brom, the latter was essential in plugging the eastern side in Elincia's Gambit. The former helped Haar to the west via Javelin finishing down the ledges. HOWEVER, Nephenee has gotten strength screwed. An energy drop had to be used to get her to 18 str, which is shaky. I will focus more exp on her later.
      -Leanne was refresher/10. Thank goodness for battle saves; a Wind Edge killed her on one try. And Nealuchi was more useful than Lethe and Mordy, but still limited in the same laguz way.
      -Danved is not Devdan.

      On turn 12, I decided to go for the kill; Haar chipped Ludveck and Elincia Amiti'd him to death, which fits.

      And after that cool cutscene (ps. everyone except Shinon has lol for voice acting), it's time for part 3, where the game really gets interesting. The only complaint is that the war against Begnion doesn't seem like as natural of a flow, narratively, as Pelleas's rise to king led to part 2.

      Oh yeah, Ike and pals. Let's see.
      ….
      .....
      they nerfed Mist into the ground ;_;[/hide]

      The Greil Mercenaries' return is still one of my favorite moment of Fire Emblem.

      Astrid got nerfed so badly in Radiant Dawn, to the point of being unusable. This game just too wasn't kind to cavaliers period.

      And Haar can beat the game by himself.

      Good old Fiona. Can't damage with an iron lance, can't aim with a javelin and struggles to lift a steel lance. And the game is so kind to her that nearly half of the maps in her route screw over cavaliers.

      What played the biggest part in making Radiant Dawn difficult is that nearly half of Micaiah's units are worthless.

      Finished Shadows of Valentia, the main story that is. Final Boss was a tad tricky. My mages could deal a crapton of damage but they couldn't handle the counterattack. Luckily, I managed to lure him to attack Genny's crappy summons instead.

      Might just be one of my favorite Fire Emblem. The characters have enough personality to make them distinct from one another and the support conversations actually felt natural.

      Trying to get through the bonus dungeon now. It gets unbearably hard after the halfway point but it has some very interesting lore.

      All that info about Warriors makes me cringe. What I was worried about happening was confirmed: pretty much only characters from the 3DS games. Their reasoning for it is a little dumb too; having too many sword users sure didn't bother them in Smash Bros. Why can't you just find different movesets? And of course, they have original characters who look out of place…and use swords.

      But hey, at least Echoes is great so I'm happy. Dull map design aside, I like how it can be tough at times while being fair (Mila's gear is a blessing). Most importantly, villains that feel like actual human beings. Take notes, Fates.

      @Jabberwok:

      Is Shadow Dragon really popular in Japan or something? Because worldwide it almost killed the series, but IS still seems to have a hard-on for all the non-characters of the game.

      I hated Shadow Dragon, but it actually sold well and got good reviews. If anything, it's the Tellius duology (my favorites personally) that would've killed the franchise, especially Radiant Dawn. The series was at a low point then hence why it was safer to develop a remake of the first game instead of making a new one from scratch

      @Noqanky:

      That's more subjective I feel. Since I replayed 7 so many times a lot of characters mean a lot to me. Lyn, Hector, Florina, Sain, Rebecca, Nino, Canas, Guy, Oswin, Matthew, Dart, Heath, Rath, Serra, Raven, Bartre… lots of really likable units.

      Meanwhile when I think back on 8 I can maybe get hyped about Joshua. Then I guess some like Lute were pretty alright too and the rest just felt like scaled down versions of awesome FE7 characters to me.

      Also, I feel the opposite about Nergal's counterpart in 8. Found that antagonist in 8 considerably more interesting.

      The whole ensemble of antagonists in 8 was pretty solid. Caellach was actually pretty cool (warts and all) , Lyon and Orson are some of the most well written tragic characters in the whole series and Valter was genuinely threatening.

      -Wow, would have thought they would have remade Genealogy since that's the one with children and modern FE fans can't picture a Fire Emblem game without them. Definitely seems interesting though, coming out pretty soon too
      -So they cut 10 seconds of the Fire Emblem Warriors trailer during the Switch presentation just to hype the Fire Emblem Direct. That's…somewhat amusing
      -FIRE EMBLEM SWITCH CONFIRMED...and literally nothing else. We just know it exists :'D

      • With that 2018 release window, that means we have on Fire Emblem a year now
      • Mobile Game...okay. Seems alright as far as mobile games go. Impressive how they took the time to record all those lines and get back voice actors. Didn't expect Narcian to have a voice this deep to be honest

      I'd be shocked if he weren't in. I know a lot of people are saying "It's gonna be an Awakening/Fates Musuo lol", but the way Zelda really reached for playable character, I have to imagine they may be more embracing of characters outside of the 3DS era.

      I'd be shocked if Lyn didn't make it, so Hector doesn't sound completely out of the question.

      Yeah, it would be a cop out if they skipped main characters (well, unless they're post FE6 games that don't have Marth in them. Maybe).

      It'd be funny if both Hector and Lyn are in but Eliwood isn't because he'd be identical to Roy (as his Smash Bros popularity secures him a seat)

      So the question would be: what ''minor'' characters would have the best shot at getting in? If there's a myrmiddon, I hope it's either Mia or Owain.

      This week's Izetta isn't even trying to hid its true colors. It really is the writer of Guilty Crown. I have two big issues with fanservice in an anime such as this with a potentially compelling storyline. The first is that it's a sign they don't have enough confidence in the quality of the writing alone and feel they need fanservice to keep people's attention. The other is that it gets very tiring that writers assume that if you're a straight man you'll automatically enjoy any fanservice thrown at you.

      On a more positive note, this week's Drifters had me entertained from start to finish. I feel this show had a bit of a slow start but if it keeps this level of fun until the end it'll definitely be in my top 3 along with Yuri on Ice and Flip Flappers.

      Drifters is intriging, but I'm not fully sold on it yet. I do expect to be once more of the cast is introduced however.

      Haikyuu should be up in about an hour, so at least we'll have a good sport series if All Out is a ledown.

I'll probably also drop bloodivores if the second episode doesn't catch me because so far it reeks of mediocrity. That will work. Any place other than Crunchy Roll I can watch it.

      Funimation's website. If you want to watch it legally.

      @vorlianis:

      ! Are you aware of what this episode implicated?
      ! The part where she feeds Sakakura a drug candy casts a strong suspicion on all interactions she had so far with Yoi and Kimura.
      Why was Yoi so entranced with Ruruka and her candy? Cause he was addicted to it like a drug addict. Not out of loyalty, friendship or love, but because she got him addicted.
      Why was Ruruka so obsessed with the fact that Kimura refused to eat her candy, despite how she repeatedly stated that sweets would kill her if she ever ate any? Because she feels the need to exert her control to anyone close to her, not because she wants the attention but because she's apparently a control freak.
      ! Now i'm aware that none of this was directly confirmed but that scene where she drugs Sakakura has completely no point otherwise, he snapped out of it right away but it clearly demonstrates she's willing to use this tool at her disposal fairly nonchalantly.
      I should also add that if Yoi ever truly cared about Ruruka her forbidden action would not be a problem, nor did she ever attempt to explain her side to anyone. All she ever did was attempt to deceive, kill and screw over anyone else to save her measly life that no one cares for and rightly so.
      ! She's a bitch and someone needs to put her down but the sad fact is that she'll likely survive to the end because as much as i love DR it always tries to make the less interesting characters survive.

      ! here I thought Ruruka would start to turn a new leave, she instead becomes even more of an asshole than Sakakura. That's one hell of an accomplishment. And you know, she could have just revealed her forbidden action to Izayoi and if their relationship was genuine he would have stayed without putting up a fight. The fact we lost Kimura while she still lives is so sad.

      Welp, decided to do Birthright Lunatic more seriously this time, i.e with no Ryoma. It's girls only! ….although I let Scarlet and Reina go just to make it a little more difficult on myself. (so it's Corrin, Felicia, Azura, Sakura, Rinkah, Oboro, Kagero, Hana, Setsuna, Orochi, and the captured Daniela)

      I'm on chapter 20, and I don't think kids will be needed.

      I've heard horror stories about the endgame, if you don't have Rescue and/or Pass your life is going to be miserable. Too bad there's not too many LPs that went that far:

      Did…literally everyone but Selena die in his playthrough?

      ! So the friendship was destroyed all because of a misunderstanding…Usually it's frustrating when problems can be solved if only the characters bothered to freakin talk but Seiko being bad at communication is a believable character flaw in this situation.

      What would you say has been too harsh about most people's critiques of the main character?

      Nowadays most people want a protagonist who's strong and confident. They don't want someone who starts off weak and wimpy, regardless of how much he works to overcome his weaknesses.

      I agree completely. That's the voice he's had in my head for years now, nothing else sounds quite right.

      I'll wait until I hear his ''Killer Queen'' to judge.

      You know I have a feeling until he met Zeff, he never really knew what it was like for a father to truly love his child for who they are and not because they are useful to him. It makes his past with Zeff being stuck on that rock even more important, because for the first time in his life someone was willing to save him and give up something of theirs in order for him to survive.

      This. This is a good post.
