Gonna be a long wait, but this was a good chapter overall. Loved the boss Jinbei moment! Still hoping that Luffy pulls out G4 and does something akin to Spring Hopper, hopefully able to bounce despite the mochi due to his haki armor, then pull all his limbs in, so he looks like a ball…then unleashes them all at once in a move I'm calling Fireworks Culverin. If Katakuri is using haki like Eneru, then it stands to reason, if he just lets his limbs go and randomly bounce out and around, they won't be predicted as easily and destroy everyone else around. Least, I'd like to see Fireworks return.

RE: Funimation DVD Discussion IV (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
I doubt we are going to get Punk Hazard and onward on bluray. Since the France release just finished Dressrosa on their dvd release, didn't got an bluray release of ether Punk Hazard and Dressrosa.
Oh that's a damn shame. Punk Hazard had some really great moments and gorgeous animation and would've been a great start for getting bluray. I'm legit bummed out. I'm already iffy on continuing to buy DVD since I enjoy BD better, but I guess we'll have to settle for continued slightly lesser quality.
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion IV (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
Any word if Punk Hazard will be the beginning of the One Piece TV series getting a bluray release in the states, since that's the first arc to get BD release in Japan?
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
@DIO:
….
I have The Strong World & Film Z Blu-ray/DVD Combo and they are the english release of the movies. Also there is a Bluray version of Movie 8 as well done by funimation
But if your talking about the anime tv episodes, then yea I haven't seen them on amazon
The TV episodes were what was being referenced. The anime has only started getting bluray releases starting at PH arc. Everything else before has not seen a BD release. And yeah Japan is very wary of reverse importation. It's the reason some Bandai and Sentai Filmworks series had originally seen English only BD releases of some titles (Kurokami and the initial release of Persona 4). You can't blame the companies, any logical person from Japan WOULD import the English release on BD if it was dual language and around $30 cheaper w/ many more eps compared to a Japanese release.

RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
Interesting new shows. But yeah, I'm looking forward more to MtH than AgK. The latter didn't even seem that interesting and supposedly wasn't even adapted from the manga well (from what I've heard). I think something like Needless would've been more fun to have on toonami. It's just balls-to-the-wall fun and over the top action that doesn't take itself seriously, even if you consider its "read the manga" ending. But that's just me.
-
RE: 693: ''The Dwarf Princess - The Captive Mancherie''
I was just talking about not showing the anime, not stopping it and then starting a new show ala Fairy Tale. Although, thinking about it now, I wish they would do that. They can still stop it after this arc is over and have a new show "One Piece: New World".
They're never gonna stop the show. Toei is stubborn and doesn't want to risk it's time slot. It may be petty to most, but sadly, it's understandable that a company wants to keep holding onto a variable that works in their favor, even if doing so is the cause of the anime catching up to the manga.
As for the ep, I was okay w/ it. IMO, the eps of OP have gotten of better quality despite how much they adapt since PH. But I was not immune to Mouji…he's the type of character I wanna see get smashed in the face, but I digress. Toei needed filler and I had a feeling they'd use him again for more unimportant running around. Other than that, everything else was on mark, and we see how everyone is doing, so I was kept engaged. Art and animation was pretty stilted here and there, but the Franky/Sr. Pink stuff was still fun...loved how Franky smashed Sr. Pink w/ the manager's head...followed by the window shatter effect (nice touch).

RE: So why aren't there any new films coming out?
It still bothers me. Did Luffy kill Baron in movie 6? I mean the flowers and Baron's goggles in the final scene heavily implies that Baron died but I just can't see Luffy killing any major villain even in non-canon movies.
It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I felt that Baron was probably near death whenever Lily attached itself to him and helped sustain his life enough to slowly build up his crew again along w/ the resort. So when Luffy beat Baron, his simply released him from the borrowed time he was living on. So it's not so much killing as it was "freeing"…at least, that's how I saw it.

RE: Water 7 Arc- Toonami Talkback
This is very good news, indeed! Hope it has a good turn out. Kinda glad they're doing it now, since the rerun will be Chopper vs. Kumadori, and it's a great ep. Shame we go into Boss Luffy filler on the regular time, even though I enjoy them, I can imagine the confusion that might ensue to the unfamiliar.

RE: One Piece: Unlimited World Red (2014 Worldwide Release; 3DS/Wii U/PS3/Vita)
thank u. Do u know where I could buy the code to download that anniversary costume pack?
Don't really know. It comes packaged w/ the game on a slip of paper w/ the code, hence the "Day 1 DLC". You COULD always check out your local Gamestop and see if they left the dlc slip in one of the empty display cases. I have seen them do that before. But since it's been a good while since the game came out, that might be a fruitless venture. Regardless, hope you're able to get the dlc you want. OP: UWRed is the first game I EVER decided to buy the dlc for, and I don't regret it, the Prestige Pack bought me around an extra 20 hours of gameplay. XD
-
RE: One Piece: Unlimited World Red (2014 Worldwide Release; 3DS/Wii U/PS3/Vita)
I'm a bit confused about the dlc situation in this game. Is it possible to get ALL the dlc that has been made availible across all the consoles and countries if I purchase a non day 1 edition 3ds version of the game? Or is there some dlc that they didn't release for purchase
I believe the only thing you would NOT be able to get w/ a non Day 1 Edition would be the Anniversary Costume pack and one quest w/ Luffy and Ace. But for the 3DS, I think the other DLCs packs can be bought in the Prestige Pack for $24.99 for all 16 packs of payable DLCs (excluding the free ones like the Dinosaur Pack and the Red Stands Alone pack.

RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
Well, Chopper could talk to the Yagaras in Water 7, as well as Sodom and Gommorah from EL, so that has to count for something.

RE: One Piece: Super Grand Battle! for Nintendo 3DS (2014)
Whole point of it is to promote the Amiibo and encourage others to buy it.
I understand that, but there's gotta be a compromise somewhere down the line. Amiibos, no matter which way you go about it, are only really giving you a bang for your buck as: figures, and unlocking things in a multitude of games. But half the figures that'll be utilized in OP: SGBX are ones I DON'T want. And even if I cave in and buy ALL Amiibos that'll be used, I'll have figures I just don't care for, and have spent $13 for each costume and that's it. I won't be using them for anything else. MAYBE I'll just have to hunt down people w/ these specific Amiibos at conventions and ask if I can use them JUST to unlock the costumes then. It'll save me money, and I might meet some interesting people on this venture. XDD
-
RE: One Piece: Super Grand Battle! for Nintendo 3DS (2014)
I wonder though, could one possibly get the Amiibo costumes simply via eshop? I really only want the Robin figure, so I don't want to be forced to spend $13 for a single costume across a multitude of characters for one game. I don't own a Wii U, so yeah, no other point to them for me. I just think they'd lose possible sales if they really do NOT allow any other avenue for these costumes, cause I want them, but also, there's the issue w/ some becoming rare. So far it's been confirmed there'll be more Marth (for Brook), but nothing yet for Wii Fit Trainer (for Nami). Here's hoping: we get this game stateside (physical or digital; ALL DLC can simply be bought w/o mandatory Amiibo use.

RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
Looks like Funimation's laughable quality control strikes again – according to their YouTube channel, S6V3 gets a Blu-Ray release
Weirdly, Best Buy (which thankfully stocked this voayge) had the same mistake. Both price tags used for display had "BD" printed on it, saying it was a bluray release, when it was obviously not. Kinda funny how this error leaked to store shelves too. XD
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
Again, probably sales. I'm convinced FT has long passed OP in sales. And we all know Naruto blows it away.
Reasons like this is why I wish the series was more popular here. It is pretty important.
Still feels kinda weird that even though one of the stores was only given a single copy of each voyage. You'd think that those 2 getting picked up on the same day they arrived would at least NOT discontinue said sets from the store in barely a week. I mean, I know I'm just a single buyer, but if there was a single product in a store, and it "sold out" that very day, you'd think the store would, at the very least, stock an extra couple of copies. Hell, Collection 10 of OP stayed on shelves longer than S6 V1 & V2. But that's just me.
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
I just hate how OP, in physical stores (what little anime is STILL being sold in stores), just isn't being kept in stock. When Best Buy actually got Season 6 V1 & V2, I had originally thought about just getting one set at a time. However, I have 2 Best Buys where I'm at…and only 1 store had a single copy of each set. So I just bought both at the same time. Around a couple days later when I tagged along to Best Buy again w/ a friend, OP was no longer being stocked. It was already removed from their systems. That's just a huge WTF, considering FT, Naruto, etc. continue to keep their current and not-so-current releases in stock for a damn good while.

RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
I really don't get the hype behind Attack on Titan, the show is completely boring to me
Same here in regards to AoT. Or maybe it was just overhyped by the time I caught it on Toonami. But even though the show looks gorgeous, the character designs are well done and consistent, and the action is engaging (whenever there is any)…almost EVERY episode just feels like a tease for the next and ultimately feels like a drag fest most of the time...and this is coming from someone who is ENJOYING the One Piece anime, where one can easily argue the same thing about that, go figure.
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
Well, the box set looks cool and it's definitely something one of my friends would likely be incentivized to pick up his purchase rate. What I don't like…extra features that were NOT on previous releases. Call me w/e you will, but I've always hated the business practice of giving the "patient ones" rewards like that (note: the collections and price drops are fine by me, THAT makes sense), especially w/ a show that needed all the support it could get while it was first being released. This just gives me bad ADV flashbacks. Way back, buy the single volumes, you get extra features like commentaries and featurettes...wait for the box set, those are stripped away w/ nothing but clean openings/closings (proper reward and consequence). Then before they became Sentai Filmworks, they start JUST keeping the regular DVDs (extras and all) in the box sets (reward and consequence go out the window). Funimation has been great w/ always keeping features, but to add extra ones...to a set of 100+ eps? I love OP, but I'm not double dipping (I get paranoid enough buying these huge mutli-DVD sets). If anything, I look forward to what these extras are and hope they're not total ball busters for those who skip out. It'd be like if they decided to release exclusive extras for one of their SAVE or Anime Classics editions rather than on the initial release...that's just not a good practice IMO. Sorry for the rant. ^^;

RE: One Piece: Super Grand Battle! for Nintendo 3DS (2014)
I'm curious if that 3ds theme will get an American release. It looks nice! But yeah, most likely if the game gets released, so will the theme. Can't wait for the release! Looking forward to seeing how it turns out in full.

RE: Who is the best Villain in OP?
Going w/ Enel as my fav villain (still going strong as my fav too). XD Now this is coming from someone who usually hates the cool, collected, stone-faced villain, but for me, his design was interesting, his power was formidable (despite the obvious weakness), he was insane…and his trademark shock face.
I love villains that have no real reason to be evil except being insane. Not to say he was coo-coo insane, but his God complex was simply fascinating. A person who after gaining his power, destroyed his home island and took over another w/ the goal of going to the "land where God dwells", truly believing he was God. He believed that everyone's lives were his to do what he pleases, not out of revenge or malice, but simply because he believed he was God and was his duty to carry out such tasks.
He turned a full on assault on him into a giant survival game, and he was the game master. He took on small time characters to pretty much encountering and defeating every SH and ally (I enjoyed all interactions characters had w/ him, like Nami simply inquiring about his power, or Robin conversing w/ him about the bell). Not only that, but after ALL was said and done, after the "game" he simply welcomed people willing to kill him, to accompany him...w/ open arms, no less. Hell, he was legit confused as to why they would refuse to go along w/ "God" since his will is supposed to be absolute.
And lastly, he accomplished his goal. He may have not retuned Upper Yard back down to the sea, but not only did he successfully destroy Skypiea, his Maxim WORKED! XDD The guy freaking made it to the moon and uncovered a moon civilization, showing us (the readers) that not only it existed, but space travel is officially possible. It's still unclear what will happen w/ the moon people, but Enel has set something into motion that's for sure.
It may not be the best explained reason, but this is just some of my points why Enel continues to be a fav of mine after so long. ^^

RE: Water 7 Arc- Toonami Talkback
I just hope we can get some good new titles added to the line up once the other shows have finished. Hell, even some shorter series would be nice. Even if it's unlikely, HOTD, Needless, Tenjho Tenge, Corpse Princess, GTO, Dream Eater Merry, Higurashi, Panty & Stocking, etc. (I have a huge list) would be cool to see. I know some of these shows might not seem like a good fit for one reason or another, but it'd be cool nonetheless IMO. Toonami gave out their address a while back to give feedback and ideas; maybe we should give our thoughts to potential future properties we'd like to see (if some of you haven't already). As far as I know, GTO and Tenjho Tenge are the only examples I listed that have ever been on cable before, so it'd be nice to see them back.

RE: Episode 359 FINALLY Uncut/Uncensored in HD via Crunchyroll
This is something I'm really looking forward to seeing uncensored on the DVDs. I had seen screen caps years ago of this scene and just hoped the uncut version would be released in the states eventually! Well, the time is finally at hand. I always felt the stabbing added more impact to this mainly comedic fight, and censoring it really lost that oomph. Still think it was dumb that instead of Absalom making an impact in the wall like a "cross", they opted for that generic pose. Pointless symbolism aside, it was an appropriate position for Absalom to get smashed into in a church. XD

RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
Wow, the news of S6V3 is definitely awesome! And right before X-Mas too! I JUST MIGHT hold out and order the 3 voyages mid December (during RS's sale, when I order a lot of stuff) and have a massive TB marathon! X3

RE: One Piece: Super Grand Battle! for Nintendo 3DS (2014)
I've heard of home brew before, but won't hacking the 3DS brick it? I mean, it'd be awesome to be able to play other region games, but I wouldn't want to risk the system.

RE: One Piece: Unlimited World Red (2014 Worldwide Release; 3DS/Wii U/PS3/Vita)
Just curious, but is eshop acting up for anyone else on the 3ds version? I can access the eshop fine on its own, but from the game, it keeps giving me error code 009-1502. Been doing this for a couple of days now.
Edit: After a few days, I was finally able to access the DLC from the eshop via the game. Seems it needed to update in order to do so. Weird since I keep my system up to date.

RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
Wow, the S6 covers have been nothing but a treat so far. Hope they keep up the trend! Really getting excited for TB all over again! ^^

RE: "One Piece 3D2Y" new TV special (30th August 2014)
While this special sounds a bit more intriguing compared to Episode of Merry, I can't help but feel that this whole "strong guy who was held in Lvl. 6 of Impel Down was released" COULD become a new trend for either the manga, anime-filler, or movie material. First it was Redfield from OP: Unlimited World Red - a game, I know (which I was cool w/…he was strong in his own right, and the power he gains was really cool...would LOVE to actually see him incorporated into the anime at least), but now we have Burndy who is...the same...released prisoner from Lvl. 6 (just different power). What are your thoughts on this? While it's still technically new and even foreshadowed w/ that bounty hunter during the Coliseum (forgot his name), do you think this concept could get really old really fast or do you think it's a great way to introduce more challengers in the story that were never mentioned because these guys were left to be forgotten by time? I'm kinda in the middle.
-
RE: 657: ''The Most Unfortunate Warrior! Logan vs. Rebecca''
Wow, everyone seems to be hating this ep, but I enjoyed it. The Barto scenes, the infirmary scene, the trap scene, and the fighting was decently handled for filler. Actual animation compared to the panning shots indicating movement and such, and the call-back w/ Luffy to his home town was good too. Meh, guess people's standards are still too high. I'm glad I can still happily enjoy episodes that are being called crappy and shitty.
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
Yikes. You clearly buy far more DVDs than I do. The worst problem I'll have is a dvd that fell out of its holder and is bouncing around in the case. Minor scratches don't affect playback, so I never end up caring.
Maybe you live in Alaska or someplace far, far away from retailers.
No, no, I live in Texas. And I've experienced ALL of the problems I've mentioned buying from actual stores like Suncoast, Sam Goody (when they were around), and Best Buy. It's not attributed solely to online retailers. Sometimes it boils down to the packaging process or the shipping process to the actual store than being shipped to your own house.
But yes, I buy and own a LOT of DVDs/BDs. 5 DVD wallets that hold 336 discs and 1 DVD wallet that holds 400 discs (and those 6 wallets are purely for anime). So yeah, I've had a number of run-ins, but I think quality control has gotten better since the early 2000s imo. ^^
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
I've never received a disc imperfection. Is shipping really enough to scratch a disc? And light scratches don't affect playback, as any gamestop employee will tell you.
I'm not talking about discs getting scratched, I'm talking about them getting or having a crack mainly (usually in the center of the disc that will eventually spread). I've been buying anime since '99 and have run into many physical anomalies that can plague a disc. Some DVDs can be brand new, never opened, yet the disc (even secured) will have scratches (happened w/ a Naruto DVD set) or some discs will even have a crack (happened w/ Vol. 1 of Tenchi Muyo Ryo-Ohki - first time I EVER experienced a crack on a disc). It's not ALWAYS down to cracks though, sometimes the disc art can be badly applied leading to either holes in the art (which doesn't really affect playback, but can be aesthetically iffy). And other times the disc can be in great condition, but it was just an unlucky disc to get encoded/printed incorrectly and will have playback issues. The LAST problem I've had w/ discs, especially in sets is getting a repeat of the same disc. I had gotten 2 Volume 5's of Higurashi in the 6 disc set…so yeah, no concluding volume. Had to return it a couple of times, 'cause more than one had this problem.
The main point I'm trying to make is: The more discs in a set, the higher the likelihood of there being problems w/ at least ONE of the discs. Returning a 6-8 disc set can be a hassle, so imagine a set w/ over 10 discs. And w/ online retailers, returning such huge multi-disc sets is bound to be a migraine. Just my thoughts on the matter. I hope that Funimation and Amazon take great care that these sets are ALL in great condition so people don't have problems w/ these monster sets. XD
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
Meh, I'll be honest, while it IS cool to see such HUGE boxsets having over 100 eps each and at such a price too…I can't help but fear that w/ so many DVDs in a huge box, there are bound to be a higher rate of damaged discs, which is a nightmare for those like me that hate the possibility of even barely cracked discs (since I can be nervous enough inspecting my 2-disc Voyage discs). XDD
-
RE: One Piece: Super Grand Battle! for Nintendo 3DS (2014)
That looks pretty fun! Kinda like SSB but w/ the special attack cutscenes from Grand Battle/Adventure. Definitely hoping/looking forward to it getting localized. It'll be a definite preorder for me. ^^
-
RE: Water 7 Arc- Toonami Talkback
Well, that's some good news regarding the rankings among age groups. While I don't blame AoT for the decline in views (i.e., people tune in for the "popular show" then just tune out…though I wouldn't put it past people), I personally fail to see what's so "great" about AoT (it's "okay to good" imo). I've been watching from the beginning, miss an episode every now and then, but I keep feeling like that show is more of a series of set ups more than anything. Considering the "action junkies" that are supposedly giving this show all the ratings, I find it weird that they're still sticking w/ it when episodes can be purely dedicated to people talking like it's an episode of Death Note (w/ just more redundant dialogue).
-
RE: Water 7 Arc- Toonami Talkback
Yeah~…was NOT a fan of how they butchered Brand New World and the opening itself. Definitely should have shown the clips of the crew fighting CP9...not like we're gonna be having this opening for long anyway, so might as well have made this shortened opening look awesome. >< Oh well...
-
RE: One Piece: Super Grand Battle! for Nintendo 3DS (2014)
Really surprised you're still fixed on UC: SP they're probably not going to revisit this game sadly.
Yeah, sorry. I'll cease mentioning it further, though iirc, I think someone hear mentioned that Namco said they "might consider it if demand was there". I just enjoyed UA so much that I'd love to have its sequel in some shape or form (legitimately). ^^; In the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy UW: Red and look forward to more info on SGB. ^^
-
RE: One Piece: Super Grand Battle! for Nintendo 3DS (2014)
Well we've been getting every one piece game since Pirate Warriors 1, so I have no doubt we'll be getting this one too.
It's not so much the question of getting Super Grand Battle (which I feel is a pretty sure thing), but maybe getting UC: SP as something of a placeholder while we wait for SGB during next year. So UC: SP will be the Romance Dawn to SGB's UW: Red…except UC: SP will be leagues better than Romance Dawn. XD
-
RE: One Piece: Super Grand Battle! for Nintendo 3DS (2014)
This seems awesome! If this is barely coming this year in Japan, then maybe we could get this title sometime next year. Since we got Romance Dawn and UW: Red this year, maybe we'll be super lucky and get UC: SP and Super Grand Battle next year. Please let this happen~! XD
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
I swear, the only thing I DO own w/ his voicework is OP (I've been wanting to get Tenchi: War on Geminar and Zombie for a long time). XD Didn't know he was that random marine on the sea train…really good for him to play someone like that, then get to play Moria. And yeah, his range is pretty good though I think his "normal" voice sounds a tad too generic. But I feel that monster game character could be kinda what he'll go for w/ Moria...just a little higher...maybe. ^^; Man, would it be fun to play any named character in OP, I'm jealous! Wonder if anyone else in TFS might end up getting a role or something. XD
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
Even though he's only used his deep voice for most, if not all, of his roles, we shouldn't assume he can't go high pitch. I'm sure it'll be fun for him to play someone like Moria. XD
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
Iirc, he DID do narration for a Toriko trailer. I was all, "Wait, is that GeneralIvan's Maxwell from TFS Hellsing?!". Lucky sonuvagun! Getting to play a Warlord in OP…that's just awesome.
-
RE: One Piece: Unlimited World Red (2014 Worldwide Release; 3DS/Wii U/PS3/Vita)
Cool to see we got some more DLC for the game…boo for the paying though. Kinda got a bit spoiled w/ the last one, which was free. XD Is there some kinda season pass for this game in the states? Might just go w/ that so I don't have to worry about going to Gamestop and buying a $10 eshop card every now and then, when I can just pay one lump fee and be able to get them as they're released. I personally HATE DLC you HAVE to pay for...call me a purist if you will, but I really miss the old days when all the stuff you could unlock and such was just unlocked through playing the game, finishing the game, and all those other requirements games used to have. Oh well.
-
RE: Chapter 753: " Battle"
Just gonna say that I really enjoyed the chapter! I don't mind, in the least, that we've been "running" for a good amount of chapters, the content has been fun and interesting, and STILL moving the story along (albeit a tad slowly) while giving some spotlight to the other characters (towns people, Tontatta, SH crew, Executive Officers and Coliseum fighters). Maybe Oda's making this "running" last so long so the anime can have a giant pool of expanded and implied filler or something…so I kinda fear for the manga-readers that are HATING this...'cause the anime is probably gonna have a field day w/ all this running and "fodder" fights. I, for one, am enjoying the ride. ^^
-
RE: Funimation DVD Discussion III (Please Check First Post for FAQ)
While it's awesome OP S6V1 WILL be available, at the earliest, 9/30, I'm NOT too fond on it being Amazon exclusive. Nothing against Amazon, I just prefer buying DVDs in-store. The fact of the matter is that DVDs can get cracked and/or loosened in the case either during the packaging process or the shipping process, and getting a cracked disc drives me nuts and having to send the whole set back, wait for the return to complete, then wait for a new set is such a pain. I'd much rather have the convenience of being able to personally pick and inspect my set. I might make the exception for this set 'cause I've really been wanting to see TB in English.

RE: One Piece: Unlimited World Red (2014 Worldwide Release; 3DS/Wii U/PS3/Vita)
http://www.siliconera.com/2014/07/09/one-piece-unlimited-world-red-original-story/
"What’s next for the One Piece series? I asked if Bandai Namco plans to continue the One Piece: Pirate Warriors series. "Right n"ow, we’re not sure yet," Nakajima answered. I also asked if he is considering to release the One Piece Unlimited Cruise games in North America since both of the Wii games were released in Europe. "It’s been awhile since we released Unlimited Cruise and [[I]Unlimited Cruise] SP. We don’t have plans to bring those over, but we would love to look into it if fans are interested."
Oh hell yes! I can't see the point in releasing the Wii games anymore, but I would SO be up for UC: SP. The 3DS is getting tons of great titles and is, imo, a handheld monster right now! It would be a sin to NOT release it while the 3DS is still relevant and popular. I'm not sure how we can technically make our voices heard in terms of "We want UC: SP for 3DS in America.", but I'm hoping that continual support of the games that ARE coming out are good enough for now.
-
RE: One Piece: Unlimited World Red (2014 Worldwide Release; 3DS/Wii U/PS3/Vita)
I honestly don't care too much. I just wonder what their actual reasoning was behind the censoring. Especially since Unlimited Adventure has their busts uncensored. It's just random and weird and I would really like an explanation. But whatever…
As for buying both games... Lol, I ain't made of money. Can only choose one. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......
I'm not made of money either. I technically had to dig into "anime funds" that were gonna be used for the 3 most recent Bakemonogatari sets (grand totaling $160)…I really hate Aniplex. >< As it is, NOW I'm a bit tight for cash considering I have those sets (among many others) and preorders for SSB 3DS and Persona Q Premium pending completion. ^^;
And if you can only pick one...personally, I'd just say 3DS version. Aside from the HD factor in terms of audio and video for the PS3, the 3DS is still extremely impressive w/ the graphics imo. Not only is it cheaper, but the little things like the map on the bottom screen makes it so much easier than having to constantly pause the game to check the map. Plus, having this game on the go is a great perk. I can see myself definitely killing time playing a level or collessium mode while I'm out somewhere. And for the collector in anyone, it IS nice to have UW: Red right next to Romance Dawn. ^^
-
RE: One Piece: Unlimited World Red (2014 Worldwide Release; 3DS/Wii U/PS3/Vita)
About to cop it tomorrow. Should I get the PS3 version or the 3DS version??
Speaking of which… why are they censoring the boxart for the U.S version. Really? They alter the placement of the art JUST so you can't see Nami or Robin's cleavage...Even the banner at Gamestop covers up their cleavage, look:
I don't get it. It's rated TEEN. The anime airs on Adult Swim. Why are they censoring stuff like that? Makes no sense.
Yeah it sucks regarding the censored game art. Tbh, I didn't even notice until it was brought up here. Regardless, it's just the cover art. It still looks nice nonetheless. And it's not like they covered up Nami's or Robin's boobs in the game cutscenes…they are still in full view, plain as day.
As for which one to pick. There's a multitude of factors:
Price - Go for 3DS
Graphics - Go for PS3
In-game controls/convenience - Go for 3DS (the map on the bottom screen is terrific)
Sound quality - Go for PS3
DLC convenience - Go for 3DS (had to update my PS3 twice to even get into the PStore. =_=)
Portability - Go for 3DS...duh. XDI personally couldn't pick just one...plus I really wanted to show my support.

RE: One Piece: Unlimited World Red (2014 Worldwide Release; 3DS/Wii U/PS3/Vita)
Hold on, the dlc expires tomorrow? That doesn't sound right. The one for the 3DS says it expires July 8, 2018. As for the PS3 one, it actually doesn't show. I scanned over that one and can't find an actual date for that particular one.

RE: One Piece: Unlimited World Red (2014 Worldwide Release; 3DS/Wii U/PS3/Vita)
I got both the 3DS and PS3 versions today and I'm having a blast. Had to update my PS3 and the PStore to finally get access to dl the dlc, but thankfully I had no problems getting it for either 3DS or PS3. The games look beautiful and are both fun, though I'm giving slight edge to the 3DS version for the sheer fact you DON'T have to keep pausing to see where you are on the map. It may sound a tad nitpicky, but it's easy to get turned around in this game when you're fighting, so having the map right on the bottom screen is perfect. Though I'm still loving the PS3 version for the sheer HD glory. I'm playing them one chapter at a time on each system. I know that sounds dumb, but I'm just testing the waters. But if I had to pick one, taking price and such into account, I'd say go w/ the 3DS version. It may not be HD, but holy hell do the graphics look absolutely gorgeous on it. While playing the game, I got the impression that while the game does harken back to Unlimited Adventure…I was getting a bit of a God of War vibe from the some of the camera angles and chaotic fighting...seriously, I get lost during fights but it's fun as hell. XD Here's hoping this sells well enough for Bandai to finally get us UC: SP too. ^_^ In the meantime, UW:Red will do quite nicely...so will the Film Z and S6 this fall. X3

RE: General Anime Discussion Thread
Yeah, after this arc is over, what w/ all the breaks Oda's been taking, the anime will be extremely close to the manga. I think a decent sized filler arc will be unavoidable this time around. Hell, they already squandered the best chance w/ the Breed Filler. Not too sure what opportunities will be left open after DR, unless they go the Naruto Shippuden route and make an "original flashback" filler where the characters reflect on a random adventure that we'd never seen but somehow happened inbetween an arc pre-timeskip OR they go the Bleach route and just say outright that this next story is completely random and has no connection whatsoever to anything. At this point, I'd be cool w/ them doing a freaking anime adaptation of Unlimited Adventure or something. It'd be a great excuse to bring back ALL the old characters from the past and have the crew, now more powered up test their skills against foes some crew members never even personally fought. Think of a scenario where Nami can legitimately fight Arlong w/ her Perfect Climatact, or Usopp taking on Kuro. I know it'll never happen, but even w/ the pace Toei is going, I'm not sure how they'll be able to regain a decent manga to anime gap once this arc is done.
