Even though it's not confirmed, I do believe Franky is Queen's son. Weevil being Queen's son imo feels like massive cope.
Oda will most likely reveal it in a future SBS.

Is anyone getting the Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door for the switch?
I'm getting it and I'm really excited!
If I had to guess which characters are going to get their own vivre cards.
All the Vegapunks
Each of the Five Elders
Kizaru
Green Bull
Stussy
Doll
Lucci?
Kaku?
Maybe the Egghead Seraphims
Kuma
Ginny?
A few of the SWORD members including Koby
Crocodile?
Mihawk?
Buggy?
Boa?
Sentomaru
Not too sure who else.
I really hope the Vees get more focus in Season 2.
Finally! I really enjoyed the first four episodes. I really want to see more from Vox, also Niffty is crazy but adorable.
Finally! I'm happy that it's on Amazon Prime.

The mystery silhouette person that we saw back in 1075 is probably just Caribou.
It's S-Shark. He was missing until he attacked later. The silhouette was there to hide the then-unknown fact that the Seraphim went rogue. That revelation only happened later in that chapter.
Actually you might be right about it being S-Shark, the only reason why I didn't think it was S-Shark is because the hands didn't match.
But maybe that was just an error on Oda's part.
The mystery silhouette person that we saw back in 1075 is probably just Caribou.
I highly doubt any other characters is a traitor, saying there is still another traitor that is secretly helping out York is just being on copium at this point.
@Deicide
I don't get why you still think/want Atlas to be a antagonist so badly.
It's over, stop coping and accept the fact that your Atlas theory was wrong.
Also it's not too surprising that the least focused Vegapunk ended up being the traitor, it was the same thing with the Scabbards and Kanjuro.

Wild that Orochi has never been in any cover. And will remain so to the end.
Orochi along with Big Mom were very close to appear on the cover for volume 103.

I would click on the x and it would go away but whenever I would login in again, it would always pop back up.
Is there a way to stop this alert from popping up? Whenever I login it always pops ups.

Thoughts on MHA lately? Especially with the most recent chapter 362.
Even though I haven't been enjoying MHA since the post war, I will admit that I am a bit excited for these upcoming fights especially Dabi vs Shoto.
That's definitely the UGP background, it should be in one of them. But if we assume the earliest it could have appeared was when Garp and Dragon were established as Luffy's family in volume 45, that's a lot of volumes to check, so you might have to do that yourself…
...is what I was going to say, but I halfheartedly opened a couple at random and was lucky enough to find it on page 212 of volume 47.
Awesome! Thank you for finding the source.
Can someone tell me where this image is from, it looks like it's from the Usopp Gallery Pirates but I don't know which volume.
ScotchInformer confirmed Kanjuro's fruit to be the Sumi Sumi no Mi and not the Fude Fude no Mi, so I'll trust him more than the wiki for now
Scotch corrected to Fude Fude no Mi.
Simple. Because that's too many pages for the episode to cover.
I don't see it happening. In all likeliness, the end of chapter 974 is going to be the halfway point for episode 977.
If they don't drag out certain scenes, then I think they could possibly end the episode with the Kanjuro reveal.
Yeah, but that occurs in the first half of 974. We still have to cover the latter half of 973 so we definitely won't make it to the end of 974. At best, we'll make it to them returning to the present with the 9 scabbards preparing to jump on the boat. At most, it may end on Kanjuro revealing his true allegiances, but even then, that's a big stretch, and probably isn't going to happen.
It will 100% not cover till the end of 974.
Why would the preview show scenes with Orochi talking to Kaido about Kanjuro and then have the episode not do the reveal? I think the next episode could possibly end with the Kanjuro reveal.
Why is Diesel ranked so high Latin America and the Caribbean? Was he voted as a joke character? I'm assuming he was.
He didn’t considering his last rank
Yeah he's probably not in the top 20, I'm surprised that he didn't even make it into the top 200 and is ranked below Black Maria.
No Who's Who yet, if he actually made it to the top 20 that's impressive.
I hope Perospero, Cracker, and Who's Who made it to the top 100, if it turns out they didn't I'm going to be salty lol.
Not seeing Perospero or Cracker has me a bit worried.
So someone said that Tama taming the SMILE users by tricking them into eating the Kibi Dango is worse than Orochi giving the people of Ebisu Town failed SMILEs.
Does anyone here actually agree with this or no?
Neat!
I’m glad to see Luffy seems to still be more popular relative to Zoro.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Looking at data randomly now, Buggy hasn’t hit top 3 yet. Neither has Smoker.
Kinemon and Noland hasn’t hit top 3 either...
Bege, Apoo, and Urouge are the only Supernova that hasn’t hit the Top Characters.
Buggy and Kin'emon both made it on the top 3 once.
@Big:
Man, I haven't posted here in forever. Been throwing all my votes at Carrot though (NA).
Went ahead and used Jugol's webpage to create a spreadsheet for some more insight. Not really my forte so it's rather unpolished.
Note that every appearance in a top 3 is weighted equally, regardless of rank, region, or time. (I could've given top 1 more weight but 2nd and 3rd have to be equal with my method).
I also have to manually update votes and manually add characters the first time they show up so hopefully I don't miss any in the future.

MHA to me this year has been really great, and this entire war arc has been really enjoyable. Of course that isn't to say that I didn't have any issues with the arc because even though I enjoyed this war arc there were certain moments that I didn't like, the war might be over but the arc isn't so I'm going to see how this arc finishes before I fully judge it.
I just hope that Gran Torino and maybe Midnight will still die, and I really hope that Re-Destro managed to escape because if he got defeated and arrested I'm going to be so disappointed.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, this series would be so much better if it just focused on the school stuff and nixed the supervillain crap.
And I'll say this fuck no, this is a series still about superheroes so of course there needs to be villains. I'm all for the school stuff but having the series only focus on that will be boring, for me I've really enjoyed the villains in this series and some of my favorite arcs focuses outside of the school.
This isn't to say that I didn't like any of the school focused arcs because I did still enjoy the School Festival arc which is one my favorite arcs and I also enjoyed the Joint Training arc despite a few problems I had with it. I will say this though I do hope the next arc or two mainly focuses on the school, because even I will have to admit that after this war arc we seriously need a breather.
Ah, here's a colour Snack then. I think you mentioned the wrong island the first time
Yep that's the one. Thanks again!
Snack isn't super visible, but I assume you mean this page?
Awesome Thanks! For the Snack panel I meant the one from chapter 894.
Got the volumes. Loved every page of every one of them. Could probably take one or two screencap requests, within reason, for the super impatient.
Disappointing they left the popularity poll results in monochrome again. The extended recap before the Reverie tragically got the same treatment. But hey, all the actual canon material looks as good as ever.
Can I see the panel with Snack and the BMP arriving at Wano?
Viz removed the pre-orders for volumes 2 and 3 of Act-Age on their website, however Amazon still has it up on their site.
Act-Age was becoming one of my favorite manga, and to see it all go to waste because of what the writer did is just really sad to see. Kei Yonagi was becoming one of my favorite characters, and I was even looking forward to an anime adaptation but unfortunately it won't happen anymore. Because of the writer's stupid actions he ruined his career, probably ruined the illustrator's career, ruined and tainted Act-Age and ruined the potential future of the series.
I'm just wondering what Viz is going to do with the upcoming volume releases, will they still release them or will they just cancel it?
Hey Greg, just wondering but what do the Japanese readers think about Big Mom? Western readers have a mixed reaction to her character, but what about the Japanese readers?
Dabi is going in a different direction, I'm assuming he's going after Hawks and also this chapter pretty much confirmed that Kaminari is not the traitor.
@The:
Man no, this series has completely lost its way. It's not that it isn't like the first arc, it's that it feels like we're reading the cliff notes version of the story. This story collapses after Goldy Pond. It's become a series of happenings: this happened, then this, then this, etc. Nothing has weight anymore. Nothing has build up. Nothing has consequences or ripples. After Goldy Pond they needed to find the Seven Corners, then find that one dude, then reunite with Norman, then kill the demon queen, then kill Ratri. That sounds really reductionist, but the series really does feel like it's on fast forward and honestly, has this series really had an identifiable "arc" since Goldy Pond?
To beat a super dead horse, it feels really similar to the last two seasons of Game of Thrones.
I just can't tell if it's because the writer had the idea for the escape from Gracefield gestating for so long, and either didn't spend a lot of time on what follows, or was forced to continue by Jump.
At the end of the day that's just your opinion, plenty of people I've seen are still enjoying the series and the sales is also doing very well which to me proves that plenty of people are still enjoying it. Only a minority of people like yourself thinks the series is not good anymore and that's fine, I've seen some people say the same thing about MHA and even One Piece. I don't think the series is perfect and there were times I've had a few issues with it but saying the story collapsed after Goldy Pond yeah no I strongly disagree with that, if there is one main complaint I still have right now is the lack of character focus on Ray.
He had like 20 guns pointed at him and still got away? …Okay, then.
Heroes always get plot armor, so why not the villains for once lol.
@TLC:
It's really sad to see how far the series's quality has fallen especially when it started so strong.
The quality of the series is still doing very well and the sales prove that, some people are just too obsessed with the first arc.
Where is Snack? Missed him twice now
I'm glad to see that Snack is confirmed to have joined Big Mom and the others to Wano.
@uniaka:
I think it was in one of magazines, can't find it in the sbs or vivre cards.
I checked the magazine which had info about the Beasts Pirates, and it doesn't mention Kaido being more like a businessman than a pirate. I think you got it confused with the Ace Novel in which it was said that Kaido is a gangster rather than a pirate, and that Big Mom prefers business.
@uniaka:
Well, oda did say kaidou is more like businessman then a pirate…
When did Oda say that?
If some people prefer fan translations over the official that's on them but it's sad how some people downplay Stephen's translations and say they aren't very good, it's almost like those people think they know how to read Japanese.
So after finishing the anime and catching up with the manga, I must say this series is really great.
I usually like what Artur has to say, but parts of that post were baffling.
Artur is yet another voice saying that JB's dialogue is more readable than Viz's. Which is an argument I absolutely cannot see the sense in. I feel like I'm going crazy here, I'm sure even people who preferred JB in the past had admitted that it reads too stiff and literal, as a trade-off for it being more accurate. But now it's apparently the peak of dialogue? The whole part about the language used in the official release made no goddamn sense to me. The choices of word comparisons are bizarre as well. Unless I'm reading this wrong, is "scrap" meant to be a more refined word than "duel?" I'd have had that the other way around. He complains that the formal language in Viz is too formal and the casual language is too casual (or at least, too boomer about being too casual), but isn't Japanese a language with a clear and important divide between polite and impolite ways of talking? Wouldn't it make sense to play up both sides so the distinction isn't lost in translation? Why does he mention an "abuse of apostrophes" but bring up two words without apostrophes as an example of that? It's just riddled with contradictions.
And let's be real, no one, in any translation of One Piece, speaks the way real people speak. At all. It's hyperbole to say almost any line is a real thing that could ever come out of a person's mouth. And that's actually okay. It's fictional dialogue, not a real conversation. It's meant to be funny, convey information and betray emotion to the readers in a precise and calculated way that genuine human speech never does. Realism isn't necessarily a bad thing when writing dialogue, but all of those aforementioned things have to come first, and so should having a good, smooth flow when read, fitting in the speech bubbles at a readable size and generally doing everything possible to make all of the above easy to understand. Good dialogue is different from realistic dialogue and even that requires a level of abstraction from the real way people talk.
For someone usually so analytical, I think it's also disappointing that Artur takes the inclusion of more Japanese terms in Wano as an inconsistency rather than an deliberate choice to make the Japanese-inspired country feel more Japanese. You're a smart man, Artur, you should be able to understand that.
Agree to disagree on whether translations should retain honorifics and things like "senpai," there's no necessarily wrong answer there. Agree to disagree on things like adding puns if there's an opportunity and they don't obscure important information. (Some may say it's disrespectful, I think if done right it can be true to the tone of the original - you make up for the joke that won't translate somewhere else with one only possible in the translation in another place, the chapter remains full of funny details, as Oda intended.) I don't think it's fair to chalk either of those up as flaws because they're a matter of preference to such a huge degree.
"Simply pointing at mangapanda’s asinine translations back in 2002 doesn’t reflect the current state of scans well and is misleading of the current situation" is an interesting line that's been coming up in different forms throughout the debate. I mean sure, JB is better than Mangapanda was. JB never went back and did the whole series from the start when they picked it up though. So for anything before whatever chapter they started, you still have to go hunting for another group and possibly run into the old stuff. And if it's a defence of scans that they're not like that anymore, can we not just remove all decisions made before Stephen started working at Viz from the table because the official release is also very much not like that anymore?
I'm also going to lowkey question how much of the official release Artur has read. Back when he was doing posts on the Vivre Card databook he commented on a lot of the romanisations used as being new and unexpected and different from how they'd been written before when plenty of those examples were actually just following the official release's spellings. But you know, why talk about the times Viz got it right and no one else did?
And the final part is this whole tirade about not harassing people who follow the scans? What? What the actual fuck is that? That's the side of this you choose to give a "calm down" reminder to? He admits himself that he got only one twitter reply even suggesting the official release was better. Meanwhile look at the hate being spewed towards the official release. Look at the refusal by most commenters to acknowledge anything the official release does right alongside its flaws. Even the most evenhanded analyses of the pros and cons of the official release die in new on Reddit. A correction that it was Mangastream, not Viz, who used Dogtooth was controversial at best as far as the site's scoring went. Oh I'm sure there are people out there who are going on the offensive against people who read scans and sending terrible messages, and yeah, fuck those guys as well, but I think we can all see where the bulk of the public discourse is. To write something like that without even an offhand acknowledgement of the toxicity of the other side is way off the mark. I'm not going to shame anyone for reading scans, but there should be at least a little shame over that.
I know Artur sometimes visits this forum, so it would be nice to see what his response would be. Also no offense to him but I don't think he understands why the word Zolo can't be changed and why Stephen chooses the translations he does, this whole scan translation vs official translation war will never end. Some people prefer scan translations while others prefer the official translations, it's something that some of us just need to accept.
Unfortunately I don't think I'll ever be able to stop reading scans for One Piece, I tried to but I just couldn't resist reading the chapter. One time I tried to avoid reading spoilers but even that failed, I still re-read the chapters when it comes out on Viz and I still buy the volumes. Also One Piece is the only WSJ I read the scans and then re-read again on Viz, when it comes to the other WSJ like My Hero Academia and others I don't read the scans for those and instead I wait for the official translation.
For some reason One Piece is just way too hard for me to wait, but who knows maybe one day I'll be able to stop reading the scans and stop reading spoilers and wait until the chapter is out on Viz.
Has anyone here read Artur's take on this whole scans thing? He made a very long post about it on his site.
