That is amazing news. 2009 is the year to be a One Piece fan.

Wow, Throes posts and the topic is alive again. Thanks btw.

RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
There we go, problem solved.
-
RE: Tom vs. Shackey
We really don't know much about Shackey and Franky's past was just too awesome. My vote goes to Tom.
-
RE: Kuma vs. Ace
While both have been pretty integral to the story in the past year, I'm going to have to go with Ace.
-
RE: Zoro vs. Banchi
I was gonna vote for Banchi for the hell of it, but in the end I just can't vote against Zoro.
-
RE: What are your favorite One Piece Ending Theme(s)?
Run, Run, Run!, Before Dawn, and Future Voyage are my favorites.
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
@Dixxy:
Funi's video portal isn't where the OP stuff happens - the OP stuff happens on the One Piece site. Granted I get the idea some of the epis eventually got to the video portal but I think the main attraction would still be at the One Piece website.
Well the FUNi portal obviously went down due to this whole One Piece mess last week. Once the portal goes back up, I'm hoping we'll get some actual information about the fate of the simulcast.
I have a feeling we'll still get it.
-
RE: Set Sail For Dub Piece, the New Topic!
Had a lot of fun making this. Pretty funny stuff.
-
RE: Law vs. Aum
A poll between the two most normal looking guys in One Piece. You could probably spot these two out in the street if you look hard enough.
Even though he's extremely overrated, I'm going with Law. Ohm never really had that much of a lasting impression on me.
-
RE: Cricket vs. Foxy
Gotta go with Foxy. Cricket was pretty cool, but he's got nothing on the Silver Fox.
-
RE: Bellamy vs. Momonga
How the heck is Momonga winning. We know basically nothing about him and Bellamy was such an awesome villain
Bellamy supporters better log in soon. I don't want to witness another Arlong VS Hannyabal.
-
RE: New official Viz media topic V2.
And yet theyy didn't fix ''ponegliff''. I 'spose Viz must have a Big Bad List as well.
Ponegliff was a bit awkward, but at least it's basically pronounced the same way. They could have went with Pirate Carnival's Ponecliffs instead.
-
RE: Arlong vs. Hannyabal
This sure is a disgrace to One Piece and the forums.
Vote Arlong!
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
At least I'm not Roman Godding it up here.
"OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ONE PIECE IS GOING TO DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE IN THE STATES!! AND WHEN IT DIIIIIIIIIIIES, ALL THE TREES WILL WITHEEEEEEEEER, AND WE'LL RUN OUT OF AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIR AND DIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEE!!"
All I'm saying is I'm a little uneasy about it, and would like some clarification
That's why you were the first one to completely freak last week.
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
And Once again, nobody mentions the DVDs…
I could only wonder why…
-
RE: Naruto Discussion V [Re-Re-Redux]
That was the saddest excuse for a debate I ever saw.
-
RE: Dragon Ball Raging Blast Gameplay Battle Revealed
Wow, another bland DBZ fighting game is coming out, this is gonna be so awesome!
-
RE: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii)
Twilight Princess wasn't a bad game by any lengths, but it felt so linear and shallow, like another company had taken over the franchise but left half of the flavor to the original team. I liked some of the flavor, yes, but the game wasn't as memorable or loveable like the previous 3D incarnations
My feelings exactly! The first half of Twilight Princess was pretty fun, but the second half just felt off, especially with there being little to no exploration before you went into dungeons.
And the "twili-looking girl" is pretty much the fairy queen from WW. Or her exact duplicate.
You're right, that's what it looked like, not a twili.
-
RE: Going Merry vs. Kuro
I feel bad for Kuro supporters. He's gonna lose to wood.
-
RE: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii)
This looks to be a sequel to Twilight Princess, what with that twili-looking girl under Link, but Miyamoto kinda confused me with what he said about the era it takes place in and that Link is older. Does that mean it's years later in the TP era or a another completely new Link..?
I wonder how long till the bitching that Link doesn't have a sword at the moment commences…
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
Everyone was freaking out about this like it was the end of simulcasts and now we're just joking about it.
Back on top, hopefully FUNimation's video portal is down for maintenance because of presure from Toei Animation.
I'm glad at least someone caught my obvious sarcasm.
Yeah, I just noticed the FUNi video portal was down too. They must be having a fun week.

RE: Lets talk about 4kids one last time (Not a rant, also, spoilers ahoy)
Blueprints aren't to a weapon, but a candy machine. The government wants to use the candy machine for world peace, but if they create the candy machine, everyone would get cavities, so Tom and Iceburg and Franky must keep the blue prints safe…for the children.
if that really happened I'm sure a crazed fan would have bombed the 4Kds business office.
I get the concept of coming up with ridiculous ideas of what 4Kids would have done but what the hell…:wassat:
Some of these are way too out there.
-
RE: First Round Discussion
Hannyabal's an alright character, but if people here are able to brings themselves to vote against the first total douchebag this series has to offer, I really don't know whats wrong with this world.
Arlong's got my backing, 100%.
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
Whoa whoa whoa. Let's not be too hasty now…
Sadly, thats what half the forum seemed like this whole week.
-
RE: Series that pleasantly surprised you
Shaman King and of course One Piece. Both these series I didn't think I'd like much and grew to love both of them.
Lupin the 3rd as well.
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
Cripes people, the One Piece license is not, has not, and will not be at risk because of this. There has been nothing to suggest that and nobody in authority has even hinted that it's a possibility.
The sky is not falling just because nobody says it isn't.
You mean FUNi isn't losing the license?! Oh boy, I don't have to hang myself now!
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
We are communicating with our One Piece partners now and hope to be able to answer your questions soon.
That sounds somewhat promising.
-
RE: Lets talk about 4kids one last time (Not a rant, also, spoilers ahoy)
Lets face it, Thriller Bark just wouldn't have worked out for them.
4Kids never allowed death in the dub, and Thriller Bark was all about Zombies and the living dead. I have no idea how they would have managed Brook. I mean they would have to have put skin on him, which would have screwed up everything, and also would have been far too much work for them. lol
But somehow they worked around Shaman King.
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
Can you really blame us though? Just look at One Piece's history in the US…:getlost:
Yep, FUNi getting the license, horrible thing right there. Uncut DVDs, just as bad. Toei yanking the license away from 4Kids, oh lord no!
Get over it. One Piece has hit a few snags in the past year with the TV cancellation, but it still is growing in popularity, the DVDs are selling well, and we still may get our simulcast. The time for complaining about One Piece's status in the States was 3 years ago.
They're just as badly optimistic too
The BAWWING that's been going on here the past few pages says otherwise. And I'd rather be optimistic than bitch and moan about any little mishap or setback.
-
RE: Unofficial Funi DVD discussions
If Funi does decide to do season box sets down the road they won't necessarily be divided up the same way the current "seasons" are. Look at Yu Yu Hakusho.
First Yu Yu Hakusho was released with the typical 3-4 episode DVD. Then they split the series up into 5 boxsets of those DVDs based on arcs. Then they rereleased the series again across four "seasons".
With longer seasons, there's always the option of splitting them into Part 1 and Part 2 also.
Yeah, but remember back when FUNi was dubbing YuYu Hakusho, they didn't refer to their shows in terms of seasons but in story arcs.
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
Sure, it was just a big coincidence.
Yep, so I guess Viz is just going to not skip to Impel Down now just because Toei got pissed and the simulcast didn't happen. That makes perfect sense to me.
People, stop assuming the worst. FUNi will not lose the license and just watch, I bet we get the simulcast again in about a months time. This fanbase is way too pessimistic for it's own good.
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
What I was saying was, this simulcast is the reason Viz was going to speed up the manga. If the simulcast doesn't happen now…
That was never stated.
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
Yep, with FMA off, that definetely means FUNi's taking measures to tighten their security. Here's hoping that we still get the simulcast soon.
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
"It could have easily happened to Naruto and FMA"
Exactly. but look: It happened to One Piece. And therefore lies my point.
I really hate it when people don't comprehend things when I explain it flat out…
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
It's just sad they constantly have to fight through the shit. Well, One Piece in general…
You know how we call the Naruto fanbase annoying? Well the same can be said about the One Piece one when all most of them do is whine and complain about how it's not popular or not doing well in the US. If it was still 2006 and 4Kids still had the license, I could understand. But the bitching really should have stopped as soon as FUNimation got the dubbing and distribution rights two years ago. "BUT ONE PIECE IS OFF CARTOON NETWORK!!! ITZ NOT FAAIR CUZ NARUTO FILLR IS STILL ONN!!" Hey guess what? Less than a year later, the fanboy sensation, Naruto was shitcanned as well. "THIS ONLY HAPPENS TO ONE PIECE JUST CUZ ITZ UNDERRATED!". No, this happened because some douche leaked the episode, it could just have easily been Naruto or Fullmetal Alchemist as well. I doubt Studio Pierrot or Bones would have been fine with their show being leaked ahead of time and probably would have done the same thing Toei is doing now.
If there's one thing a majority of the One Piece fanbase needs to do, it really should be to relax and stop complaining about every little thing that goes wrong. Take a chill pill and step back. I'm sure FUNi will find a way to resolve this and try their hardest to get us faithful fans what we deserve.

RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
Doesn't change the facts: We're an impatient lot and let's be honest we'd have done the exact same thing had we found that file and condemning someone for something you'd have done yourself in the same position is just stupid.
Some of us do have better things to do with our lives, ya know.
Funny how everyone is accusing some douchebag of having no patience when there's not a single soul on this forum that has any patience whatsoever. Otherwise we'd all wait for Funi and Viz and not rely on fansubs and scanlations. Everyone who speaks ill of this guy seriously needs to look in the mirror.
Viz, the company that's had the One Piece manga for seven years and still is only on Alabasta. Waiting for extremely slow releases is in no way impatient. That's the reason why Viz is speeding up this year and why FUNi was doing the simulcast.
You know you can twist and turn this thing forever but in the end that episode shouldn't have been on the internet in any way shape or form at that time.
So says the guy who would've put it up anyway if he found it online…
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
@HiroVoid:
One thing that I don't get is that if it was someone that just wanted to see the episode early, then why did he post the episode online as well?
To share joy and happiness with the rest of the impatient anime fanbase of North America.
People have got to stop acting like the four horsemen of the apocalypse are nigh when it comes to One Piece's success in America. I highly doubt that Toei will yank the dubbing and DVD rights from FUNi because of this. The simulcast just may not happen, that's probably all that will come of this. I'm thinking if anything though, it just won't happen now. I'm sure FUNi will fight to make sure we get the simulcast eventually. It just won't be now, thanks to some nerd who couldn't wait less than a day.
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
There's a chance that they aren't even One Piece fans… That they were just a jerk(s) doing this so something like this would happen.
Nah, they were definetly One Piece fans that were too impaitient to wait less than 24 hours. FUNi and Toei practically spoils us with the simulcast and some douchebags still weren't content. Ahh, the American anime fanbase…
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
It's confirmed from FUNi's site One Piece site…
As anime fans know, FUNimation Entertainment and Toei Animation had planned for the first ever online simulcast of the series ‘One Piece’ tonight at 9:00 pm CDT., just one hour after its premiere on Japan’s Fuji Television. Unfortunately, in the last 24 hours we have determined that the FUNimation servers were compromised, even though we employ strict security standards. An unknown individual accessed and posted episode 403 online and as a direct result of this illegal act, all U.S. and Canadian fans will be deprived of access to this great anime series for the immediate future. We will make every effort to locate and prosecute the perpetrator(s)to the fullest extent of the law and will provide updates regarding this most serious matter
Whoever leaked the episode screwed all One Piece fans over for now.
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
I think everyone should just take a step back and calm themselves. Let's wait and see. I'm sure this issue will be resolved soon.
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
Has it even been confirmed that that's the reason FUNi took them off? 391 is still up on Hulu by the way…
-
RE: New official Viz media topic V2.
Wow, the cover for this week looks hilariously awful.
http://shonenjump.com/e/images/hyou1.jpgThat cover pretty much epitomizes how horrible Naruto has gotten in the past 10 years.
-
RE: FUNimation Simulcast Discussion
Strange, it seems 391 and 392 just got removed from FUNi's One Piece site.
-
RE: New official Viz media topic V2.
Eh, I work at Barnes & Noble and get a discount, the raised price is nothing to me. Besides it's like what, a dollar?
-
RE: Unofficial Funi DVD discussions
I'm thinking FUNi's only going to do six voyages for season two (if they're trying to encompass all of Baroque Works in it) and end it with Robin joining the crew. The post-Alabasta filler could easily be added to season 3.
For the CP9 arc, I'm thinking FUNi's definetely gonna have to split that one up into two seasons. A hundred episodes is just way too long for one season.
