I really didn't like these chapters, I think I even hated them
Hinomaru losing was pretty predictable due to how the author writes the fights so that didn't bother me, what bothered me is what happened after the fight
"LOL, I lost, wish me a better luck becoming a pro next year"
"No Hinomaru, you don't even have to wait next year! there's that one thing that everyone conveniently forgot to mention until now that can make a pro anyway"
and just like that everything that happened in the last few chapters became less significant if not meaningless
I don't know if you can call it a plot armor or an asspull or whatever, but I know it's represent everything I hate about manga/anime
Nah, I beg to differ.
Of course Hinomaru's loss is predictable, but in my opinion, the "second chance" thing is predictable as well. I have learned it in Eyeshield 21.
And if you think about it, it makes sense that the main character (who fought) and readers to not know about this fact beforehand, in order for him to fight like there is no tomorrow.
But yeah, it's a kind of plot armor.
