The teaming up that Croc has already done is already enough to fulfill Oda's statement. Yup, at the end of every quarter we tally up the points and send oda the results. Points come in a unit called milliodas, mos for short. We're actually lobbying to have it become an official part of the metric system. There are also cenitodas, deciodas odas and so on.

Still, the first 2 are barely personality. Jinbei has been shown to contradict the beliefs of other fishmen. He goes beyond respect for humans and even feels indebted to them. He has already shown his feeling of debt to Ace, WB and Luffy. It is even more out of the ordinary when you consider that he was one of the Schichibukai. He gave up one of the highest titles in the world for a human.

You wanna know what scenes defined some of the Strawhat's personalities before they joined?
Zoro ate the smashed and dirtied rice balls the little girl made to him, showing us he was not the violent monster he appeared to be;
Nami entire scene in which she's asked to explode an imprisoned Luffy, and then turns against Buggy's crew because she can't bear to kill someone after having someone close to her killed by pirates;
Usopp has that scene where he punches Klahador/Kuro and says he's proud to be the son of a pirate, showing he was not just a lying kid from a backwater village;
These aren't really quirks, but if you're going to call them quirks you could call Jinbei's vowing to protect Luffy for Ace as a quirk revelation.

Every other character in that colorspread is in character, why do you presume that Oda would depict Jinbei out of character? And as far as I can remember few colorspreads have ever depicted anybody as being out of character other than attire.
Well he doesn't need to be Jim Kerry, look at Zoro. It's not like he's always there rolling out the jokes. His humor comes from his ignorance to others and his competitive edge. Jinbei's jokes don't have to come from him being a standup comedian. All he really needs is a somewhat funny quirk or two to fit in with the crew.
And it's not even impossible that he could turn out to be a hilarious guy. As the Jinbei supporters constantly point out, he hasn't exactly been in the most hilarious arc of the series. It's not like a seemingly straightlaced (I thought this was a word but spell check thinks otherwise), serious character has turned out to be a joke. Franky and Duvall, crime bosses just like Jinbei, gave off the impression of being tough guys not to be messed with, and they both turned out to be pretty gay.

I saw it yesterday, it was the first day out here. The theatre was relatively empty. I thought it was good entertainment but it could have been better. There were a few things I had a problem with. Apparently allot of people thought Tony was likable douche, I could only see the douche part though. Seriously every time he didn't have the mask one he was just annoying. The other part was one scene of the movie.
