What time is the ep 1000 dub screening?
Did we get confirmation whether or not the 3 episodes on the film red BD are dubbed or not?
Welcome ProfClover! It is indeed a good time to be a dub fan
My only complaint is that the physical releases slowed down
Based on the interview Anthony Bowling had with the OPP, they might already be in the raid right? I don't watch the show in Jp, but what episode does that officially start?
I'm also curious how now having 3 directors will impact whether or not they catch up this year.
As someone who almost exclusively watches the physical releases I don't keep up with the digital, what has been their release schedule these past couple years?
Robbie Daymond is AWESOME!!! Can't wait to see it
For those interested, Ian Sinclair is streaming OP Odyssey on Twitch
They'll probably be counted as regular episodes tbh.
Has anyone tried playing the OP Odyssey demo yet? I really like it, but no dub is such a damn shame .
What are the chances the physical releases pick up speed this year?
3 directors on One Piece huh? sounds good! Man I really hope the physical releases speed up in 2023
Movies would be great! I'm also hoping once they catch up, dubs will be considered for future games
@Zephray Awesome to see that they are aware of the progess the dubs been making, especially metioning Whole Cake ending! Hopefully this means good thing for us dub watchers
@MooseAP I agree it sounds great, our best hope is that the Bluray release has the songs dubbed
From Stampedes 1.2 Million full run to Reds 9.5 million weekend run, that's an awesome jump!
What was Stampede's box office?
@MooseAP Maybe a little more of Luffy's thoughts in the post credits?
I hope in the next movie, the other Straw Hats are more involved and they cut back on some of the secondary characters like Kalifa, Lucci, the Elders and others that had no real impact on the plot.
@Zephray I enjoyed it, it's definitely not my favorite. I've only seen the movies since Strong World, I personally put it behind Strong World, Gold, Z, and Stampede. Uta and here Sing Sing powers and music was great, but the demon lord aspect was meh.
As for the audio, I didn't notice any issues. The audio in my local Theater was amazingly clear.
As great as Ado's music is, I'd have preferred Amalee to sing In the movie
I know Rotten tomatoes isn't important but Film RED has and 95% Critic and Audience scores so far, that's pretty awesome
Me and my nephew had a great time watching the movie!
My showing had 15 people
Every little bit of exposure helps
Since I had been gone from this forum for several years, I never got any of ya'lls takes on the Raftel and Laugh Tale issue I assume ViZ and Funimation went thru. I'm curious if they'll exclusively use Laugh Tale now. Or alternate between the two. What do ya'll think?
@MooseAP I haven't seen it yet, I'm going to a matinee showing this afternoon. The theatre I am going to has reserved seating tho, and as of right now there's 12 people. The number might increase when the showing actually starts.
Awesome!!
And tomorrow's the big day, can't wait!
When Clint says he's back this season, are we assuming he means Wano?
I hope the physical releases pick up speed
Amazingπ₯°!!! Like I've said, the best we can hope for now is that Amalee's versions are available on the Bluray release.
Just a few more days till Film Red!!! π₯³π₯³π₯³
Funny enough my first exposure to OP was random 4KIDS episodes in Alabasta, I got some laughs out of it. I didn't fall in love with it until the first airing of Skypiea on Toonami. And I didn't see the beginning of the series until the Voyages first released. Time sure flys
I'm thinking the viewership for the dub must be good, or at least consistent for them to continue to produce it. Otherwise they wouldn't put all the effort to put in all this effort with no return. I'm still hopeful to one day we'll get the earlier movies dubbed.
I hope Film Red does well outside of Japan, it was awesome to the Time Square promotion they did
It's crazy how we used to worry about the releases really really slowing down post water 7. But look where we are now, we are a couple sets away from Wano.
I find it amusing that in other dub languages like Spanish and French Luffy sounds closer to Colleen than Mayumi
@Nitwit We're talking about the games right? I agree it bs, especially since One Punch Man, MHA and Demon Slayor games all got dubbed. And Chris Sabat's Okatron 5000 studio dubs the DBZ games as well I believe.
To add insult to injury they also brought Colleen in to voice Luffy for the OP card game commercial which makes it even more annoying
I'm fine either way, but this could be a Zombieland Saga situation where we didn't get the dubbed songs until the Blu-ray release.
That's a shame, well at least we are slowly inching our way towards Wano.
I haven't posted in here since 2015. Finally caught up on all physical and Manga releases and i'm really looking forward to seeing Film Red next week! I'm really disappointed that One Piece Odessey is not getting dubbed . Especially since other shonen games like OPM and MHA keep getting dubs. Has Bandai Namco ever stated why OP games continue to be sub only?
I've been out of town for over a month. My wife says no DVDs have arrived. What's going on with Right Stuff? The last episode I finished was when Luffy punched Charlos. Was that Voyage 1 or 2?
voyage 1. I only just got v2 last week.
Their pool has gotten bigger, but i'm not sure what they have will be enough once they get to the New World. I wonder if they'll have to outsource some roles (with direction from Mike of course ) to Bangzoom, NYAV Post etc⦠It can't be cheap to keep flying out LA and New York actors. I also don't want them to start reusing actors like Justin Cook or Andrew Love. There are some actors with great vocal range(like Sonny), then there are actors while great have limited range. Dr Kureha and Marigold sound to similar for my taste tbh, same with Mr 5 and Akainu. But luckily that hasn't happened alot yet.
I stopped watching the Japanese at the very start of Punk Hazard, mostly because of certain bits of filler(not all) and I just feel like enough care does not go into the actual animation. Not to mention I don't hear a Japanese voice actor and automatically equate it to something magical. Not saying any of you do that but I think you all know what I mean. I continue watching the One Piece anime because of the Funimation dub. I love every voice for the crew and I am loving these super nova voices. When I read the comic now I hear the Funi crew and their voices in my head. If not for Funimation's dub I wouldn't watch One Piece at all anymore which is odd because I feel like an even bigger fan than I was 10 years ago.
I feel the same, I personally only watch the dub and read the manga. In fact all the stuff since season 5 and onwards is the first time i've seen these arcs animated. Voyage 2 & 3 are really exciting for me just so I can finally see The Strawhat separation and Hancock.
The Supernovas and Duval are great. Zoro was hilarious in this set as well. I might be the minority on this but I liked Bonney's dub. I also admit I teared up at Hachi and Luffy's scene after he got shot, great stuff all around.
Thanks
Really pumped for this, and soon Boa Hancock . Still holding out hope for Michelle Ruff to play her. And the Strawhat separation is what i've been waiting for.
ok, I got to say, this set was great. I loved just about every episode. I think the best part about it though was how they voiced the celestial dragons. they sounded so snobby and uptight, that I just wanted to punch them every time they talked. it was perfect.
Does Kizaru appear in this set or in voyage 2? How were the Supernovas? Did justin use a sound different enough from his Bellamy? And how was Rayleigh?
