Luffy is just going to do his own thing and others will follow, because that's what it means to be the king. He won't just go and seek out people to help him take down Blackbeard or even WG.

RE: General Blackbeard Thread
Cool Stuff
You know, I think there must be some truth to this Doffy - BB thing.
So far we know they sold Mera Mera no Mi to Burgess as it was supposed to be his prize in the fixed colosseum match. Just look at their reactions after Sabo takes the fruit and you know it to be true. It won't suprise me if the one wrecking the palace is our champion coming to demand an explanation or perhaps another logia(!) from Doflamingo.Aside from their methods of getting power, there's also one really interesting thing both have in common: they are outcasts and traitors to their on bloodline. Food for though, no?
As for BB's next move, I think it involves shitting on Big Mom's and Kaido's salad, Shanks will be left for main course.

RE: Chopper's forms
My question is related to absolam, do you guys think observation haki can let you sense him when he is invisible? I wonder if is fruit does similar things like the bleach character that van make is very existence disappear when he goes invisible.
Apoo sensed him that's why he went on a rampage in Kidd's base.

RE: Chopper's forms
This topic comes from another thread, but I felt as it's question, it's best suited for here. Are admirals and Yonkou even in strength level, with the exception of Whitebeard, and if so, why don't the admirals combine to crush the Yonkou? I have some ideas for both of these questions, but I want to hear the ideas of other forum goers
If they can't destroy all of them at once, it will be meaningless to destroy any of them as long as they can keep other pirates from reaching the Raftel. Just like Blackbeard took Whitebeard position there is certainly others to take their place if any of them fall.
The way the story is going suggest the Worst Generation is pretty literally WGs worst nightmare when it comes to preserving the balance of NW so their worldwide draft couldn't have hit a better time. -
RE: General 'Haki' Discussion
Only one the crew will accept as vice captain is Jinbe.

I have a dumb question…
Is it true that Dressrosa will end in September? tell me this is not true pleaseIf it ends around chapter 800 you might be onto something.

RE: Who is the final villain in One Piece? 2.0
Will BB beg Luffy for Mercy when he's getting pounded to the ground, or will the final villain run away when he realizes he's outmatched? As long as Luffy gets his epic fight with Akainu, instead of Sabo, then I'm good. BB can show up after that.
Be ready for the disapointment when the time comes then.

RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
which makes want to see how ships actually reach the holy land!?
I remember that one had to leave the ship if they wished to cross thru Marijoa so there propably isn't a passable route for ships.

RE: Favorite Old Wrong Theories
@Galaxy:
The entire iconic "crew vs. crew" is not going to happen until the end of the series.
I don't think all of them will fight them either until the end(namely Nami and Robin), but they will definedly meet again before Raftel.
-
RE: Favorite Old Wrong Theories
@Galaxy:
Zoro isn't going to fight two Blackbeard crew members. That wouldn't make any sense.
So you don't think there will be more than one encounter with the two crews?
-
RE: Favorite Old Wrong Theories
It's not like Zoro couldn't fight a Diamond Burgess even though Shiliew will be his final opponent.
-
RE: Chopper's forms
So, what was Blackbeard doing at drum? Maybe he knew Hiriluk? Did I ask this before? Is "a man doesn't die until forgotten" and "a man's dream doesn't die" close enough?
Maybe he picked up Doc Q there.

RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
The city of Water 7 IS the ancient weapon, Pluton. Nobody knows where it is because the city has sunk so far into the sea since it was first created. When Iceburg finishes his plans to float the city, they'll discover Pluton somewhere below, underneath all the buildings.
It would even tie into the incredibly improbable idea I have that the "ancient weapons" aren't weapons at all, but means of transporting large numbers of people at once for whatever reason. The whole time I watched the Fishman Island arc, it seemed like Noah was intended to be the means that Fishman Island/its people would be taken to the surface to live with humans some day, rather than being intended to be a weapon of mass destruction. Pluton being underneath Water 7 would mean it could possibly move the entire island, as well. Why these things would be created to move entire islands of people, I have no idea. Nor do I have any ideas of the final weapon since we know nothing about it but its name so far. Also don't really know why they would come to be known as weapons of mass destruction, beyond the World Government's insistence that nobody learn about the Void Century as learning about what they did so long ago would turn the world against them and remove them from power.
Pluton is buried in Arabasta though, it's just waiting for Gedatsu to accidentally find it.
It would be in really cool if after the final war they would strip it out of it's weapon parts and turn it into a base for the floating city. -
RE: Chapter 775: Love for Lucien
I don't understand your logic, it's already been said that it's going to be a full scale war that encompasses the entire world, battles on all fronts, it won't be randomly secluded to one island for no apparent reason
there'll be many sides, lots of divisions of power, like people said what they're doing here in Dressrosa will no doubt help them with allies in the finale, I'd bet even the Strawhats themselves will be split up into several divisions on different islands with multiple allies
wonder who Bartolomeo and Casvendish will be grouped up with
Never said it won't, we will definedly get glimpses of stuff happening around the world in the view of their friends and random revos, but the finale will definedly focus in the events at Marijoa which is the only front that matters.
It's been Dragon's goal from the start to attack there and now Luffy and Teach are giving him a chance and the rest of the big guys will follow. They also won't just randomly split into around the world when their goal is to take down Blackbeard Pirates. Although, I guess it's possible they get some hi-tech teleporters from Raftel and go arms race for the ancient weapons…Nah.
-
RE: Chapter 775: Love for Lucien
I'm pretty sure the final war won't be just in one place but all throughout the world
Sure, I think Revolutionaries will play big part there, but Straw Hats certainly won't be anywhere else.
-
RE: Chapter 775: Love for Lucien
There won't be any timeskip, whatever happens in Raftel moves the story straight to finale in Marijoa.

RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2

I wonder if this could still happen.

It would have been zillion times more awesome than Sabo eating it.

RE: Notions That Don't Deserve Their Own Threads
@Hamburger:
A thought I've been pondering: will the Straw Hats run into anyone stronger than Doffy, but weaker than the Admirals and Emperors? I honestly have a hard time picturing someone like this who we haven't heard of by now: Doffy seems to basically be the #5 guy in the New World. Maybe an Emperor's First Mate or something, but I'm even unsure on that.
If 7th Shichibukai is a new character then his definedly going to be stronger than Doflamingo. I also think Shogun of Wano could be close.
-
RE: Chopper's forms
before monet tried to sacrifice herself for doffy, she believed that doffy will be the pirate king. what do you think this means? i think there are 2 possibilities for that:
1. doffy actually wanted to be the pirate king. there were times when he actually enjoy being a pirate with all the adventure that he share the same dream as most pirate, to be the pirate king. in this case he genuinely want to be the pirate king. it's just that lately he is too busy with his business that he started to forgot about this dream of his and monet believe that one day doffy will pursue this dream again.
2. he lied to his crew member (except for the top executives) about wanting to be the pirate king. he simply did that to recruit people who actually want to part of the pirate king's crew. knowing how strong doffy is, they believe that doffy is capable of being one and so they join him.
what do you guys think about it? i know we wont get definite answer till oda himself explain that to us but i just want to know your opinion on this.
I think wanting to become the Pirate King could be Doffy's answer to the rejection he got from tenryuubito after he brought them his father's head. If he can't be a god, then he'll be a demon.

RE: Patterns in One Piece
The only exception I can think of is the Return to Sabaody arc.
They save Megalo before they reach Fisman Island thou.

RE: Next Strawhat Crewmate (Vol. 6)
I absolutely expect that Brook will be getting another reference to his past, especially with Oda having put his 6-14 (guessing, since that's the range of the rest) year old self into a color spread and given the already mentioned hints. This is what makes me think that Jinbe would probably get more to him as well when he returns for good, seeing as they both had older flashbacks. Jinbe's flashback was in relation to Fishman Island/Pirates (and, you could argue, Koala), whereas Brook's was not only his but Laboon and the Rumbar Pirates (also another area that Oda could expand on, since it's only assumed that Yorki's group didn't make it after splitting due to illness).
I agree with this 100%. There's no way returning with Laboon is all there is to Brook. What exactly was it that he wanted to do before him and his crew died?
-
RE: Chapter 773: Half and Half
But Ussop being capable of CoO means he is also capable of CoA but most likely CoO is his talent, not CoA. Lets see how Oda will use that.
Ussop having haki is open door for Oda telling us more about it through Monster Trio. It's true he could propably learn to use CoA, but his not a physical fighter which leads me to believe that at most we will see him armament his nose.
Edit: Actually I totally forgot CoA can be imbued into weapons, but Im not so sure how well the flower ammo would go with that so I doubt Usopp would learn that. Althought it would be cool to see him miss EVERY shot against Augur in the finale only to finish the fight with CoA imbued lead star he used to shoot back in East Blue.

RE: Chapter 773: Half and Half
@uniaka:
Jimbei's cover story looks finished. Unless I missed something, and the location is hinted to be far away, guess Jimbei and giant fish( must remember the name of the only guy Sanji managed to beat after the time skip) could show up to help Sunny team, since Jimbei is also related to Big mom.
Problems: -too fast to meet Jimbei again and him to join the crew.
- If he wanted to end his alliance with Big mom in a peaceful way, guess defeating her ship and subordinates won't help.
Jimbe won't show up to help them, they will get rekt and forced to attend Big Mom's tea party.

RE: Chapter 773: Half and Half
@LordEnel:
I don't know about joining but I'm inclined to think they will leave dressrosa on his ship.
What if they leave with a fleet? :ninja:

RE: Next Strawhat Crewmate (Vol. 6)
"I never want to be on a team with that guy!"
I need to hear a literal translation of this line, Oda is screwing with me if he's hinting at Both Cavendish and Barto joining the crew.
Anyone remember what he said about Next Nakama recently?
He said the next nakama will join successively so it most likely won't mean they will join, but rather a heavy foreshadowing for Barto and Cavendish working together again in future.
It's a shame thou, both would have great interactions with the other Straw Hats. Fuck Jinbe.
-
RE: Chapter 773: Half and Half
I'm also wondering, what the hell is that technique of Robin's? I know it looks cool and all, but flying hands around sword? What are they supposed to do?
Propably just cool entrance with the death flag. It does confirm one thing thou, Robin doesn't need solid objects to sprout on anymore!!!!
-
RE: Chapter 773: Half and Half
Ahahaha, Barto imitating Luffy was too funny. Was it a foreshadowing when Barto said he never wanted to be in a group with Cavendish?
Robin's weird new move was pretty nicely named too.
-
RE: Notions That Don't Deserve Their Own Threads
Closest to my opinion.
- Think Big Mom will be civil to the Straw Hats because: The long unresolved matter of who Rolling Lola's mother is. If it's Mom, Nami has a friend already.
- The Tea Ceremony: Before the Sunny Crew disappeared from Dressrosa we saw Momo practising a TEA CEREMONY. Also if Momo is an important figure from Wano, Mom may recognize him and stay her hand.
- Brook has a few links to tea himself, though more of the western style. He is also a famous musician and one who plays the more genteel violin. Perfect for an elegant cuppa.
- Big Mom likes sweets. Sanji cooks delicious sweets. If after finally seeing her he can stop crying.
- Chopper is a doctor. Big Mom has indigestion. He would naturally try to help with that.
I have the notion, based on Mom's reclining couch that she could be a Rokukurobi from Japanese myth, though her she may only be called a Snakeneck Tribe.
With her cannibalizing 'crew' members and being shown her ship is a giant candy themed, and a least the prow is alive enough to resolve and sing.
My notion is this great big ship is essentially run by living snacks & her top nakama.
The power to bring baked goods to life will be hers.and obviously
I think the Straw Hats will have an enjoyable time as 'guests' there until the Kidd alliance shows up, and then they'l be sidelined or fight alongside her.
No other definite things present themselves except I hope mom recognizes Brook from his long ago career, and a Brook/ Apoo face off.The story could go in many directions from here but those ones seem likely, funny and likely to resolve some things. With or without the box blowing out. l'm looking forward to it.
This is pretty close to what I have pictured it. I just wonder what they do with Ceasar.
It's possible she could be a snakeneck, but im pretty sure she is based on Onibaba. She and Nami will definedly have a lot in common, which might even lead to Nami making a deal with her.

RE: Chopper's forms
What characters or arcs/aspects of the series do you get really defensive about when someone criticizes them if any?
I lose my shit everytime someone says OP is bad because the characters are too big and/or too ugly.
Another thing is how some people bash One Piece as just another shounen were mangaka has no idea how it will end and just keep on adding more stuff to keep it floating. -
RE: Chapter 772: Cabbage & Romeo
What? The admirals were able to counter Whitebeard's shockwave because it was directly a Devil Fruit power. In the meteor scene you're referring to, all three of them block the meteor in some way. We have no evidence that a CoA bubble, as you call it, could block a physical object. CoA Haki is all about being able to contact/negate DF powers; in other words, a CoA bubble could negate Fujitora's gravity power but not something moved by it, like the meteor. The meteor still retains its momentum even though Fuji is no longer using his power on it.
What admirals used was exactly the same move Sentoumaru and Sandersonia used to block Luffy's punches.
-
RE: Favorite Old Wrong Theories
@Hamburger:
I just remembered one. There was a theory for a while that there was an entire ring of card-themed underworld bosses, beyond the Donquixote Family. This was pretty much based entirely on Doffy's "Joker" alias and a mention of another broker named "Jack."
It's a shame it didn't happen, Yonko being the Jack, Queen, King and Ace would have been cool.
-
RE: Chopper's forms
do you guys think that we see in the future some of Ace important Crew/Division-Member… A Vice-Captain something like that? Or will this part be played by people like Marco etc., or like Jimbei a friend of Ace...
I highly doubt it, the Spade pirates were basicly skipped in the first place as off no importance and would have propably get more important role at Summit War if they mattered. Im thinking Marco and the rest will, like you said, "play that part".
-
RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
Kidd's alliance will beat Big Mom and Oda we'll give us an arc where Luffy's alliance face off with Kidd's instead of the generic Luffy fights all Yonkou idea.
Im actually betting on Oda throwing Vegapunk and Sentoumaru on next saga too since they have Ceasar with them.
-
RE: Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2
No, the former Mane Mane no Mi user was decapitated.

RE: Official Dressrosa Thread
Robin is already one of the most dangerous people in the world by default because of her ability to read Poneglyphs. In fact, being such a dangerous person has been a big part of her character arc.
It sure is the most obvious route, but what about Nami, the low profile keeping weakling trio member showing her growth by defeating an ex-lvl 6 prisoner and becoming the most dangerous woman in the world? Not intriguing at all?
Nami could fight both Lafitte and Devon on separate instances with Devon as the final opponent. We might even see a swap scenario with Brook jumping in to take over against Lafitte.
Also, I don't think we've seen Devon's powers yet so its hard to say if she would be a good match up for Robin. Laffitte may find his wings snapped midair like Pell if he faces Robin, so I don't think we'll see that fight unless Robin just provides an assist Marvel vs Capcom style.
I actually can see Zoro doing flying slashes against Lafitte and getting even more mad that there is yet another person that can fly.
-
RE: Official Dressrosa Thread
I do agree that the match-ups will be based on jobs.
Pretty much everybody takes Zoro/Shiliew, Usopp/Augur and Chopper/Doc Q and Stronger for granted because of their jobs, so why not Nami/Lafitte?
I see it the most likely too, but other theories are more fun. Also, considering how much similiar traits Straw Hats and Blackbeards share any match ups are possible before the finale.
I think Nami Vs. Lafitte would be a pretty good match up, myself.
The less physical members of the crew who deal with navigation squaring off?
I can totally see it.
Brook isn't exactly the bulky type either and has a lot in common with Lafitte, like same home sea(possibly even the same country) and both can hypnotise people not to mention the hats and canes. In anime he even tap danced!
As for Nami; both are navigators(main reason why this is most likely right?), extremely stealthy and have opposite former professions (cop and thief).Nami vs BlackBeard woman crewmate(who's name escapes me) would be a good match considering they both fight with staffs.
I can see Oda doing some homage to Drunken Master with Vasco Shot. Having his fighting skill enhanced while drunk. Possibly Jinbe will face him.
Shogun Franky vs Sanjuan Wolf seems pretty plausible
Lets talk about how good a match up between Brook and Laffitte is.
I think so too. Everytime Nami has a had a great fight it has been against another woman and more importantly; this is even likely as Catarina Devon was dubbed as the most dangerous woman in age of pirates to be locked in Impel Down. So what would it do to Nami's reputation if she were to win against Devon? Yes, she would get the title of the most dangerous woman in the world. And if my theory of Big Mom getting killed by Devon will come true, then I think this match up will be set in stone.
If my Mera Mera rematch doesn't ship, I don't see Vasco vs Jinbe impossible at all. Jinbe is definedly an ex-alchoholic.
It would indeed be great if Sanjuan turns out to be shipwright and got his title from that. Thousand Sunny vs Wolf's Massive Pluton would blow my mind.
So now we just have to wait for Jinbei to be proclaimed as the SH helmsman:ninja:
Another factor that I think locks Nami in against Lafitte is that the only other real possibility for Nami's opponent would be Catarina Devon and she's taken in my estimation.
Devon Vs. Robin seems like a much more likely match-up to me, I mean c'mon, probably the two most infamous woman in the world facing off?
This is likely too (actually more likely, as Devon's title Crescent Moon Hunter sounds like it could belong to an assassin), but I really can't see Robin getting the title over Nami.
-
RE: Official Dressrosa Thread
Mera Mera no Mi doesn't fit his fighting style, maybe some ZOAN or physical type paramecia.
Because projectile type of punches mixed with fire definedly doesn't go well with wrestler themed character…
Ps. I like how this thread was derailed into Blackbeard Pirates discussion.
-
RE: Official Dressrosa Thread
Your all wrong, Burgess will get the Mera Mera no Mi and Jinbe will have his rematch against it's user. Yea, that's right,
AceSabo is going to die. Again.
