disappointed at all these strawhats being in the final rounds (being that they have had a million times more exposure then other characters, it almost doesn't seem fair)
I'm calling this an obvious Zoro win

I take a sip of my Dr. Pepper
take my first look at the list, then used F3 to find Crocodile's name (my favorite character)
I see his matchup

I think I need a new keyboard…. :P
honestly?
one of my favorite episodes of the series right now,
who knew that after all the attempts of all the Buggy filler that Toei can actually put together something funny :)
hello, was wondering if anyone heard anything about if there is going to be another character tournament this year?
my first one was last year and always loved waking up in the morning to vote (:
if it was already stated somewhere i apologize
aye, pretty good episode this week
have no problems :)
however i'm totally sorry if someone ever said this but I guess I can't help but think about it….
if the earthquake in japan that had recently happened was prior to the episode a few weeks back of when Whitebeard unleashed a tsunami and split the land in half
would Toei have had the balls to actually air that? I certainly couldn't see a situation where they would put those images on television if it had aired after the earthquake
idk its a random thought :P

Heh, would be fun to try and do an episode where you translate "oyaji" differently every time.
"Old man!"
"Pops!"
"Dude!"
"Mr. Binks!"
lyou forgot the most important one…. OLD BUDDY! from a fair few episodes back lol
anyways, thought this episode was great. Shat my pants when right after the opening the title screen came up :O
music choices here were mediocre but nevertheless I wasn't bored and left myself wanting more :)
7/10
i applaud this one,
for a merely 10 page chapter that was the basis for this episode, it was paced amazingly well.
in fact it actually went 2 pages into 576 lol
anyways, episode was AMAZING. I seriously think they couldn't have done a better job and having a the censorship didn't really change much for me. Hell how many injuries has whitebeard taken since the start of the war and just shrugged it off like nothing. kinda lame I wish that he lost his use of an arm or something
10/10 this week!
oh and the blackbeard pirates voices were perfect.
good episode :)
Yes the buggy filler was annoying but I admit I could not hold back a smile seeing that Den Den Mushi cry so adorably
music choices and direction was solid.
8/10 this week
and now I must reveal my gripe about these past few episodes and their manga chapters respectably, where the #$%! are the seven warlords?
it's as if they vanished and they don't care that ace was freed right before there eyes, and are just chilling back
idk I guess it's hard trying to fit so many characters in one place here, but it just feels a little annoying knowing that really none of theme contributed anything major.
episode was great :)
first thing i noticed was how subtletly Hancock said the series title something like "If he makes it out in ONE PIECE, we will get married" I chuckled as I always do when someone in a movie or tv show mentions their own title
Ace and Luffy fights were amazing, Ace's Fire Gun was hilarious to watch. If there was one thing flawless with this episode, it was the music choices. Absolutely perfect in every respect.
And the Whitebeard thing at the end was definitely tears worthy.
10/10 this week, and rightfully so
I do understand the reasoning though,
the main thing preventing me from buying the dvds is the fact that any day now it's possible that funimation might announce that they will stop dubbing the series. So if such a possibility exists, do I honestly feel like spending hundreds of dollars for that? No. I really don't.
Yea I'm aware how incorrect I may sound, but quite frankly One Piece isn't even dubbed on TV so I really care less about the future of the dub…
having a tangible product of the anime is nice, but just not worth the doubt
AMAZING, loved it this week
from the garp punch, to the flashbacks, Sengoku's transformation, to Ace's freedom… was amazing
however I do have a complaint.
Somehow felt that they could have used better songs for particular scenes, the moment that Luffy got to the scaffold was underwhelming combined with the music
9.9/10 from me :)
IMO Anime > Manga. I know you guys don't give a shit about my opinion though.
going to have to agree :P
I enjoy the anime alot more, the only reason I basically read the manga is to just get caught up in the awesome story because it's a year ahead of the anime
if the manga and anime coexisted both in the same part of the series, no doubt I would stop reading the manga and go full anime
aye this episode wasn't bad at all.
filler scenes with the Whitebeard commanders fighting against the Vice Admirals were very nicely done and unexpected
also the scene where all the commanders stopped the bazookas was epic to the max
my only complaint is really the Buggy filler…. wasn't really a fan
7/10 this week
-Nice filler with MR 3 again
Woah was Mr. 3 even in this episode? haha I honestly don't remember
Way too many changes for the sake of integrating fillers and flashbacks to call it at least mediocre… Whitebeard and Marco were shown too powerless in this episode... Jinbe in chains? WTF. And were is T-Bone?
You think this is a good episode, you better never read the manga again. This episode was plain shit and without ANY respect to the original work.
Lmao wait what?
first off I'm guessing you missed the part where whitebeard owns the shit out of everyone around him. Second, Marco is bloody powerless in general so this episode makes no difference. (Oh and actually read the chapter this episode was based on, it's not like he did anything epic) Jinbei in chains…. was meh but by all means not grounds to call this episode terrible.
And where is T-Bone?
Well why don't you ask Oda that question and not Toei :)
aye this episode is definitely now one of my favorites during this arc their were sooo many beautiful animated sequences in this episode that it's hard to pick out stand alone ones.
The Haki shout was great, the Whitebeard attack was great.
By far the funniest thing was Aokiji's reaction at the end.
"Hey! Come on, for real?"
I rofled at this compared to his exact words in the manga.
Great episode, and my only complaint is that this episode just flew by :)
10/10 this week :)
Would you listen to the podcast if Manga Recaps were on Mondays after the chapter?
Yess I would, I do enjoy Greg being on the podcast
Would you rather listen to a News segment that are shorter and more to the point, or would you rather keep it the way it is?
It is very fine the way it is :)
How long would you like the average podcast to be?
As long as possible really rofl. An hour and half sounds good
Would you rather the podcast be once a week or twice a week?
Twice to be honest. Gives me more alot of one piece things to look forward to every week
Episode on Sunday, Chapter on Wednesday, Episode on Thursday, and Anime on Saturday
Would you rather have Anime Recaps "Commentary Style" where we watch the episode while discussing it, or "Recap Style" where we go over the major points of the episode without watching as we go along, but just off of notes taken about the episode?
Recaps, but Commentaries on the very special episodes
How many people do you prefer on the podcast at a time?
Minimum 3 :) Over 5 it's a mess lol
How long have you been listening to the podcast?
Since April when I was into bleach and my friend showed me your "bleach podcast" which I thought was legit at first rofl
Got into One Piece alot more and the podcast since then
How did you find the podcast?
From a Friend.
If some may recall, there was a thread here that talked about the new French dub that premiered back in Apr 2008 from episode 1 by a new dubbing company. I did some research and found out that recently episode 325 aired on television. Yes, that's right, 325 episodes (uncut as well) have been aired on TV in just a little over two years. This makes me somewhat jealous because our dub has only reached 195 since September 2007, although it should be noted that the openings and closing songs are not dubbed, but the sogeking song was). While I realize that Funimation is doing its best to bring us a quality dub, I wish we could get a little speed up like the French did.
well blimey, mind citing your source for this information?
high demand or not in two years with 325 episodes thats episode just about every three days lol
thats pretty incredible considering
Great episode knowing the chapter it was based upon.
Wasn't exactly a thrilling chapter but it served a purpose showing that indeed Whitebeard is old and he's not going to fight the war pretending that he is not.
The Episode 0 flashback was a welcomed sequence and I was very surprised, the Buggy filler wasn't really terrible and Ace's flashback was kind of cool.
overall this week gets a 8/10
I did enjoy it, but the best is starting to come next week. Where I believe the climax of this war finally begins.
is this 3D like 3D pop-out of the screen or just 3D figures? if its 3D figures they should have just made it like a regular anime.
kind of a weird question haha,
could you imagine a 2d cartoon's hand pop out of the screen and it's in 3d? would look extremely out of place.
meh chapter was alright i guess,
im honestly still wating for the part where they sit down, relax and discuss their little adventures.
these last few chapters have just felt totally rushed into all the action, and now that they are split up which means it'll be more time :P
Oh another mind blower,
Fake Chopper is Sabo
GUYS GUYS!!!
What if her name is
Curly D. a D. an
like two times D's
bro,
you've officially tripped out my mind….
she must be like.... One Piece's Jesus or something...
guys, i got it !
Dadan's real name is actually….
Da D. An
Garp trusted her with Luffy and Ace because she was a D and stuff :)
He was one of the latest pirates. Captain Kidd was an extremely violent pirate.
Kidd in the manga was a violent pirate in the anime. Oda based quite a few pirates off of History.Do you enjoy cooking, Nate?
well of course,
I even do the pose in my avatar every time I cook to perfection :)
(with the whole spinning around kinda thing like when Ash catches a pokemon or gets a badge ya'know?)
Aye,
on this day November 22, 1718 (292 years) Blackbeard was killed by british sailors off the coast of North Carolina.
Take a moment to remember the guy that served as an inspiration to the shaping of this series :)
I wish we knew alot more about him
i'm afraid im apart of the majority in this one,
episode sucked in the beginning but once Akainu jumped in the episode became pretty awesome.
sadly that happened around 18 minutes in the episode
so it'll get a 7/10 being that nothing much happened in the chapter this episode was based off of in the first place.
found a trailer…. seems pretty legit

Not to mention how popular One Piece is in Japan, you just need to ask a random guy on the subway what happened in the last OP episode and they probably will be able to tell you, even if you have no friends to ask.
i lold pretty good picturing this
essentially i can live without an ending song,
but for god sakes please get rid of that flickering lamp intro…
it doesn't even fit because the crew isn't exactly "going on adventures" at this point in the series.
hardly understand the purpose for it in the first place...
this episode was great :)
only thing i can complain about is the one second where you see Croc and Dofla cross hook and foot. It looked very very akward to me and that was the main thing I was looking forward to seeing in this episode
8/10 this week :)
honestly? I didn;t like this chapter all that much, it just seems a little rushed….
just wish the crew would have a chance to actually talk a bit about what they were doing for the past two years instead of talking all about this sea current stuff.
While the whole sea current things was informative, but I found it a bit hard to keep reading idk there is my two cents
thought this one was a great episode, only thing i feel the need to complain about is that we've have already established that Luffy's need right now is to save Ace and i felt it spent a bit of time reminding us yet again…... idk
personally I just think he should say alot more then scream ACE! and I MUST SAVE ACE!
but idk lol
Akainu's line gave me goosebumps "You stand tall, Dragon's son" and the ending scene left me salivate for more.
9/10
Funny that Marco keeps telling Squard to do something, whilst standing back and doing absolutely nothing himself.
16 characters of this ^
hmm question i've always been curious about actually. it's probably well known and i'll probably feel like an idiot but i've always wondered…
why doesn't the funimation simulcasts include the preview for next week's episode?
Great episode.
Have absolutely no complaints about the quality, subs seemed fine and the John Giant fight was great :) Although it makes you wonder where the hell John was during the whole beginning :P
Oh and Marco should stop petting Squardo and DO SOMETHING
9/10

PS3 isn't much better with its 17 consoles.
I can't say much about that Xbox quote because I'm not very sure.
And i'm not sure if your saying that in the whole country only 17 households have a PS3 but if you mean that then wow…
you do know PS3 was developed by Sony right?
Sony= Japan based
That kitten got my face pretty bad.
They weren't. Once again, blame Funimation. Their translation is not only awkward and lazy, but also inconsistent.
There was even a "big buggy" somewhere, wtf. So much for quality check.
lmao i saw that!
i cried and laughed on the inside
an alright episode,
I thought how they captured the emotions surrounding the stabbing were pretty well done, but to me it felt sort of boring to say the least :P
Animation was alright
main gripes were that i was a little bored and it felt weird that the allied pirates were refering to WB as "old buddy" ? pretty random imo haha
I'll admit though that when whitebeard was hugging squardo, all I can think of was Whitebeard just pulling him towards his wound and getting him to kiss it better :P
Oh and lastly, I thought Aokiji's mini-scene was amazing and made the episode for me.
6.5/10
rape time [qimg]http://i38.tinypic.com/16k3qex.gif[/qimg]
you said it… the animation looks almost movie quality to me :P
hell I've come to realize the whole reason why i fell in love with One Piece was watching the anime.
And the only outlet for watching the anime that i could find were K-F and Vegapunk but honestly mostly K-F
Honestly you can criticize their use of "Nakama" (which is honestly not a big deal, it's just a word, and it was an unfamiliar word that it I felt it in the story, crewmates, friends, or best buddies just doesnt go right with me now in terms of OP) and you can criticize some of their other translation mistakes. But without kaizoku I wouldn't have enjoyed One Piece as I did and how much I still do.
Personally thats good enough for me
Sure that it probably might have stole from One Piece, but honestly I'm glad that they did. I'm glad I found this series, and I'm glad I can always look forward towards something consistently every Thursday and Saturday.
And it was all because of K-F that made it available for me.
Thats what I have to say.
The lack of backstories also angers me greatly.
The only character with a sort of backstory is Gokudera and Chrome/Mokuro.
cool, good to know im not the only one rofl
hiya, thought I might toss my sort of basic review about this serious and wonder if anyone else carries my thoughts
The series is good in sense, pretty interesting story, very cool fight scenes and deserves to be a decently popular manga.
HOWEVER
I have two main major gripes about this series,
1. The main character Tsuna is to be honest a little to young and annoying for his age, even when Naruto was 12 or whatever he was less annoying and had a suffice to say awesome bit of spirit. I understand that their backgrounds are different being that Tsuna was raised like an average kid pulled into all this Mafia stuff but he really needs to tone it down a bit… imo
2. I dont feel any connection towards hardly any of the characters for the one reason that they dont really have any interesting backstories or backstories at all. Hibari especially, like how the hell he got so strong in the first place. and even Yamamoto who apparently just lived an extremely normal life and got pulled into this stuff randomly.
Sure it makes sense if they had normal lives that there would be no point for a backstory, but at least SOMETHING is better then nothing and would make their characters feel more like a character.
those are just my opinions though :P
The fact that the Mihawk VS Vista fight was animated well and once again, showed a great small strike of Mihawk (after it being deflected), only pisses me out even more about last episode, Toei did great with this 90% filler episode, without relying on too many reaction shots and stupid dialogue, but awful with one of the most important (and awesome, IMO) chapters in this arc? For shame, Toei, for shame
90% filler?
I beg to disagree….
