Hey everyone. I know they released a miniature Sengoku in Buddha form, does anyone know where I might track one down? Or at least know the name of the series to narrow my search terms? I'd appreciate it. I'm not talking about the picture frame one.
Still having that internal debate about the briefcase. Alas. :T
Ha! That avatar is great. Did someone end up rocking a Hattori Cap avatar?
Haven't posted here in awhile, I was curious to see what you guys thought of the movie. I'm glad you seemed to have loved it. :)
Eh. Well, don't get me wrong… Fairy Tail as a whole definitely didn't turn out anywhere near as good as I'd hoped but this chapter was OK. It was a nice surprise, though I'm sure everyone here saw it coming being mega internet geniuses. My only beef is, if Makarov is gonna be the master then stop making him job to everyone. (Won't happen.)
I was rolling my eyes during the zerg rush of Acnologia, couldn't help but be reminded of ones of the villains from Tales of Xillia when that fairy girl showed up, and then…everyone 'died', and then bam, seven years.
So…what? Everyone got blasted into the future? Got stuck in some trippy purgatory for seven years? Even though we had already figured out that the panel of the boy was supposed to be in the future, this is nothing if not bizarre. Just...weird.
I'm thinking, not everyone went to the island right? So presumably Fairy Tail the guild is still around? Who has been the guild leader for the last 7 years? Any predictions?
http://mangastream.com/read/fairy_tail/99983324/5
Bottom middle panel. Look at it out of context.
AHAHAH awful! Lube up a little, dragon dude~
I was getting ready to drop the title if Makarov died, but hell… now I'm interested again. Finally! By the way, how many of you were groaning when they all came back to rescue Makarov? I know I was... ''Oh fuck, now they're gonna collectively kill the apocalypse and throw a party!''
That list is totally hilarious. I'm a pretty easy to please guy, I would say that I was having some fun with this arc until this last chapter. It's not even the fact that it's repetitive of previous arcs, I just find Natsu the most boring of the main four and the ''power up'' not even remotely interesting in terms of potential new attacks. Also, what the hell Makarov? He went from Orlandu to Malak! :/
Man, I really want to love Fairy Tail. There are certain things I like a lot. I thought this arc started out well, but this last chapter is beyond disappointing. I'm absolutely stunned that this is what this entire arc was leading up to.
Please forgive me if this isn't the right place to post this! I was just wondering if there was a Sengoku in Buddha form floating around somewhere? I've looked pretty hard and haven't found anything so I'm assuming it doesn't exist.
Sorry guys, I tried to search the thread but got a gateway error. Could someone PLEASE tell me the music in episode 275, about 18 minutes in? I couldn't find a video with the music in it to make it easier for you unfortunately…
@SomebodyUDon'tKnow:
I want them to get smeone wih a Logia ability on the crew.
And we need to see more Ancient and Mythical Zoan users.
Definitely want to see more Ancient and Mythical Zoans here too. Also would like to see all of the ones that have appeared in full fledged 1 on 1 fights.
I am going nuts thinking about what Oda is going to do with Sengoku + Garp now. Maybe they'll just go around hunting the released Impel Down prisoners? Or go after the Blackbeard pirates themselves? Would love to see both those. I would be beyond disappointed if Sengoku didn't get his own big fight in the entire run.
@Pix:
While no one can confirm what happens when an immovable object is hit by an unstoppable force, scientists believe it would be akin to Mihawk attempting to cut his own sword.
This is awesome, lol. A+.
I´ve been unlocking all the support characters(I´m only missing 4 or 5), and so far (and surprisingly) the most useful to weaken enemies must be Ivankov. Keep the enemy close to you, summon Ivankov at full power and get out of his way. If he injects his Hormones on the enemy, he´ll lose almost all his health in a moment XD
Brutal!!! Great tip. Sengoku is also a goddamn beast. He takes a ton of hits before being eliminated(it's only happened a few times for me after 300+ summons) and his Buddha's palm is unblockable! It's been my method of choice for scoring support character KOs. The only downside to him is making sure the shockwave lands. With a bit of practice it's pretty easy.
Have you noticed how the reward for some stages is two stars with two exclamation marks? Most of them unlocks these "support modes". Others usually unlock gallery pieces
A ha! There it is! I unlocked the yellow one! Thanks so much. :)
@Nia:
Uuuhm, sorry to be a bother, but I don't exactly want to read through 158 pages ^^;
I just noticed this game at my work place today (I had the pleasure of placing it in), so naturally I'm thinking of buying it now.
Is it (generally) regarded as a good game? I'm usually not a fan of fighting games, but then again I usually don't like games that follow the style of Unlimited Crusie 1&2 either, yet I still loved them to death.If you could just tell me what you like about the game, that'd be great! Thanks.
If you're looking for a hardcore fighting game with stuff like rushdowns, corner traps, invincible frames, etc. you'll be disappointed. It's more along the lines of Smash Bros or the other Jump games on DS. Very fun to pick up and play. Honestly, I didn't think I'd like this game and at first I didn't but I got REALLY into it. So, I'd say it's worth a shot. The main quest mode is really fun, and so is forming teams. (You can save teams that you use a lot, and even give them fun names.) The stages are also phenomenal and I get a big kick out of how they went out of their way to make them special.
There is a downside though. While the support roster is incredible, the playable roster is a bit disappointing. I can see how they had problems picking characters, but there's some really head scratching decisions here. First of all, not all of the Straw Hats are playable. Brook, Franky, and Robin are support characters only. The remaining characters are composed of a lot of the ''heavy hitters'' in the major factions. I don't know… personally, I don't consider it a deal breaker. Check it out is my vote.
@luffink:
Those are special attributes for each support, that you can unlock through the Grand Prix Mode. I have these:
- None (Grey)
- Swordman(red): Boosts HP of support characters. Automatically joins when gauge fills.
- Navigator(blue): Lets you summon the support character sooner, but lowers their HP.
- Marksman(green): makes the support character appear behind the main character.
- Coock(yellow): Restores GP when summoned, but can cause Hot status.
- Doctor(pink): Heals status effects, but slows down summoning speed.
- Musician(purple): Gives you random power-ups, but sometimes causes status effects
Sorry to bother you again, but I actually can't figure out how to unlock more than the one. I have mostly everything else unlocked so I'm a bit confused… I tried google to no avail. :/ Do you remember what you did to unlock those?
Thanks a lot! I appreciate it. Looks like I only have the purple one, LOL….
I love most of the Marines, actually. But right now I'm really feeling Sengoku. Too bad people don't seem to like him. It'd be cool if we saw him go all out in the manga someday, but I don't have my hopes up…
In the team builder, you can choose a special symbol for one of the support characters and only one. Does anyone know what this means? From some testing I can tell it makes that support character slower to be ''ready'' but I can't notice any difference in damage or anything. Thanks in advance guys. :)
Searched the thread and I didn't see this particular topic come up… What do you guys suspect are the other ''attacks'' or attributes of Sengoku's Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Daibutsu? It could really be anything at this point, but it might be fun to try and guess. Also, Oda seems to reference something even when you don't realize it... is the ''Shock Wave'' a reference to something, you think? Hope I can make this post without someone calling me a goddamn idiot. :)
Chapter was pretty good. I like the action and I like the lead up to Laxus but…
I somewhat agree with this part. Makorov really didn't get a chance to shine at all. He was basically helpless. Perhaps he at least has one last ace up his sleeve before his real demise.
Might be biased, but wasn't he doing pretty OK until the heart attack thing? Nothing really bad happened to him until he had the chest pains and was immobilized. Usually when writers put things in like diseases and afflictions on characters it means that this character could destroy everyone without it. See: Itachi, Ukitake. I know there are other characters like this, but none come to mind. Somebody help me out.
Makarov biting the dust seems all but inevitable, which kinda depresses me. (Nerd!) I really like that character.
Really curious to see how Makarov/Hades plays out. I thought Makarov would die but now that Hades' underlings are elsewhere and they're in a supposed stalemate, maybe he'll survive after all. Then again, he did release Fairy Law…
Maybe the 1st Guildmaster put some kind of magical thingamajig on the island that will enable Makarov to defeat him.
Wow, another amazing chapter. Oda is brilliant.
Ace's career:
Draw vs. Jimbei
Draw vs. Smoker
Loss vs. Blackbeard
Loss vs. Whitebeard
Loss vs. Akainu
Brutal, man. Just brutal. But honest.
Ace's death totally changes the entire manga up to this point IMO. One of the things people rag on One Piece about is how Oda doesn't kill any characters. It's very, very clear to me that the reason guys like Pell survived is to set up the shock value of this moment. Oda truly is a master storyteller.
So insane. Oda truly is the master. You can believe for a second that he didn't kill Pell or anyone else just to set up this moment.
Think we'll ever see a Time Fruit? That'd probably be the most broken of all.
So after hundreds of chapters Oda still isn't ready to fully reveal Sengoku's DF ability. I'm guessing he's saving it for a fight with Dragon, BB, or Luffy near the end of the series.
Ugh, you know.. I didn't even consider that he might not flesh out Sengoku's ability with a name and a fight to accompany it with. It will probably be like Doflamingo where he shows it once and then we just don't see him + the ability for hundreds of chapters. I'll probably be dead by the time Oda really shows us what it's all about.
But I'm already dead anyway! Yohohohohoho!
@AdmiralYonkouMt.Bandit:
Couldn't he have done that anyway? I don't see why he needed to get rid of it. Furthermore it points to what I said about the whole key thing before.
LOL maybe he wanted to say two things:
Boa Hancock is useless.
Mr. 3 rules.
@AdmiralYonkouMt.Bandit:
LOL
Why would Oda need to do that?
So Mr. 3 could make a key. Mr. 3 could be important down the line!
I know why he hasn't killed Luffy!
(Yellow) Monkey D. Borsalino.
I'M CALLING IT NOW.
Eh, really off topic and I apologize…
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/540/00/
Who's the character's that's two left of Sasuke? White hair, white garb. Thanks in advance.
I really tried but I can't track down Vampire Hunter D… Anybody have any luck with this?
Trying to justify Kizaru's actions is kinda silly. If he chose to move at the speed of light (which would be logical since they're at war) then he could probably fight the war by himself, but that really doesn't make for a great story. I think it's better to just leave it at ''Kizaru did what he did because that's what Oda wants''. It's very hard to come up with a logical explanation for a lot of things that have happened in this arc, considering the actions of all the guys with massive power or how much abuse Luffy's taken.
Trying to get into the semantics of why any of that turned out the way it did seems kinda fruitless. I doubt even Oda thought about why Kizaru isn't lightspeed fisting everybody on the battlefield.
@S.C.:
Well, he's a "Elemental" Paramecia, like Mr. 3, Kalifa, and maybe Jozu. He can generate his element, can control it, but not 100% become just the element to avoid damage, as his body, his blood, etc. is always poison, but still solid.
Whoa, you're right. For some reason I always assumed he was a logia. My bad.
@S.C.:
Well, after looking at Tvtropes.org's look at Elemental powers, minus Mind, which I lumped into Heart, I thought of a possible list, which I'll put into spoilers:
! Confirmed Logias:
1. Fire: Portgaz D. Ace.
2. Earth: Sir Crocodile, well sort of.
3. Lightning: Eneru.
4. Ice: Aokiji.
5. Light: Kizaru.
6. Darkness: Marshall D. Teach.
7. Magma: Akainu.
8. Air: Smoker (I say it's really more smoke + clouds).
! Unconfirmed Logias:
9. Wind
-Who might have it: Monkey D. Dragon (Or a Mythical Zoan Dragon)
-Potential: Lots. Razor wind, high pressure ones, Hurricanes, etc.
-Why?: Seen to have something to that effect during Loguetown.
10. Water:
-Who might have it: Mermaid Princess
-Potential: Very powerful, since a water bubble will kill a DF user. However, only those who can naturally breathe in water can use it.
-Why?: Since Water is the natural enemy of all DF users, it'd be said that only a Merman or Fishman can handle it without dying, but it will still rob them of swimming if they emerge into natural water. Also used a way to keep the Mermen in control by having their ruler not able to leave Fishman Island.
11. Nature:
-Who might have it: Poison Ivy type person.
-Potential: Control of Oxygen, transform body into any plants like a cactus, Venus flytrap, or some poison plant, for example.
-Why?: Someone with good intentions, but a bit of a loony.
12. Life:
-Who might have it: Someone very sadistic.
-Potential: Caustic, poisonous blood. Abler to control the area of wound of blood control, and such. Also, a rare liquid Logia besides Water.
-Why?: As seen below, the power is kind of a cruel mockery of life, and isn't really a "good", as in virture, power.
13. Metal
-Who might have it: Possibly Sengoku.
-Potential: Lots of offense and defense uses.
-Why?: Seems to be made of Gold, a metal.
! Those who might be a Logia:
14. Diamond: Jozu (Still on the fence, but probably a Paramecia).Well, I'm probably going to be wrong on most of them, probably, but hey, that applies to a lot of my ideas.
Did you leave out Magellan? Aw man, he's gonna cry now. (And probably poison you.)
No, I knew from the beginning that Ace is going to survive this otherwise these whole arcs wouldn't have made sense. It's just that I hoped he would die even though the chance was like 0%. I actually find Impel Down+ unnecessary. What purpose does it have except to show Luffy that he is way behind the top tiers. Though I am quite interested in the aftermaths of this whole war, and I am sure Oda won't disappoint us. It's just that I can't come up with a logical explanation right now.
Now that Ace is also not dead, the direction of the story is hard to predict.
Like you said man, Oda won't disappoint. Truth is, we don't even know what we're witnessing now. One new piece of information could change the entire arc/story. I promise you though, Oda doesn't waste many panels. Everything is ALWAYS building towards something.
At least now we can gauge how strong Ace really is, the deal with Blackbeard is jaded by the fact that Blackbeard is supposedly as strong as Shanks a Warlord, yet weaker than Magellan and titled as a Shichibukai (ambiguous strength).
Eh I think BB is just a really bad matchup for Ace(and most people). The ladder system doesn't really work anyway. For instance, Perona>Luffy and Usopp>Perona so Usopp>Luffy? Nope, they already fought and Usopp lost. There's no way to see who would beat who. I think we should just leave it at ''Ace is probably really strong, but we haven't seen him take out anybody huge yet''.
Does anyone realize that it seems that no marine is stated to have king haki? just came into my mind
I'm kind of disappointed that WB and Shanks have it too. I was hoping there would be 1 or 2 people in the manga that have it, making Luffy seem extra special and even more destined to be Pirate King. As it is, there's now 4 users of it.
The shot goes through WB's chest, ie it doesn't do anything. (you can see the crosshair and a fifth line which is the beam)
Yes you're right! Sorry, guess I'm blind like MM too. :sad:
And than Ace will go on rampage!!! Well he should do it know seeing that so many of his comrades are fallen for rescuing him. And still no sign of Ace haki.
You might be right, but I mean… they came there to save Ace, not beat the shit out of the WB. Ace is saved, I would think they'd get the hell out of there now. Who knows, though.
Are you sure? I see kizru beginning to attack. I don't see if WB manages to block it or gets hurt by it.
Yes, I was kinda confused about this. I think what actually happens is Kizaru is ABOUT to attack, but his attention is diverted to what we saw in the panels…
...The other guess is, Kizaru actually killed Whitebeard and we don't know it yet. Maybe he just falls over dead next chapter or something.
Enel says otherwise.
We haven't seen any other confirmed Logia besides him transforming into a giant, fat, elemental version of himself. If Sengoku was a gold or metal Logia, the huge Buddha-thing could be his giant, fat, elemental version. And wouldn't it be appropriate for the Fleet Admiral to be able to this? It seems to be quite a high-level move. Aokiji, Akainu, Kizaru, Ace, Smoker, Crocodile, Teach … none of them have ever shown that they are capable of this. Especially in this war, shouldn't they all pull out their best attacks?
I donno about everybody pulling out their ''best movies'' in the war, dudebro. It makes sense from a war point of view, but not from a story point of view… know what I mean? Chances are we will see a lot of these characters in all out fights sometime down the line, so it's good from a story point of view that we haven't seen them go ''all out'' yet. I think it's a preeeety safe assumption that we haven't seen the best of a lot of the guys yet.
Really nice chapter, yeah. Seeing Sengoku in action is beyond cool.
As for the speculation on his DF, I love it when Oda gets really weird. The weirder the better, I hope the fruit is something nobody predicts and chances are it will be. Truth is, him being giant could just be a small byproduct of his powers. Like, for instance, if you met Moria in his Shadows Asgard form or if we saw him first in this form we might have guessed he was a giant. Or if we saw Eneru in his giant fat blue guy form in the first panel we saw him in we may have guessed he was a giant too. Get what I'm sayin, bros? :)
Are you one of those foolish people that honestly thought Ace was going to die?
Yeah, Ace really had the potential to do many more things in the story. It's not too surprising he survives this. Whitebeard however, I really can't see what purpose he could serve if he lived. I don't think he'd retire from being a pirate like Silvers, but who knows.
