Prize items do not have a suggested retail value since they aren't supposed to be sold anywhere in the first place.

They sell it anyway, same thing when amiami still selling prize items, etc. They got their own supplier for that.
Even with Dive, Megahouse, Alter, etc…they got more than 1 supplier.
Same with nippon yasan, Im sure they also got more than 1 supplier.
And they can get some rare stuff that's already more expensive than retail value.
They're also offering a service where they can search figure that you want that's not available in stores anymore.

I'm gonna take Louis side on this. I can't see any valid argument on BS answers apart from childish replies.
I just believe that Louis made a valid point by saying that nippon-yassan is not an honest shop.
If they buy from the manufacture company (which I believe might be true due to having preorders) they should sell the product at retail price, and make the profit that the manufacturer is suggesting. Otherwise they're taking advantage of the customers and the figure companies. The figure companies taxes their products knowing that the retailers will get some money from them. Nippon yassan however taxes their products (even the new ones like Bonney or Dofla) way over the retail price, making neat profit for an item that they were already gaining some money from.

A store can get more than 1 supplier for 1 item. Happened to my order with amiami and hlj. They said they can't get it from their usual supplier and will try to get it from different supplier and told me to wait. Different supplier might give them different price. We don't know what's going on behind those prices.
Amiami also started to sell preowned fgure. HLJ selling prize items higher than most other store, etc.

Retailers buy from manufacturers and distributors at wholesale prices. In other words, they get massive discounts for bulk buys. Their profit margins should be generous, if they aren't then they need to re-evaluate what they are doing in this business and crunch some more numbers. There is an enormous difference between 5k yen and 9k yen. If you're missing target profits by a margin of 4k then something is wrong somewhere.

Hell, take HLJ. If you become their wholesales customer.
Sometimes they gave you a smaller discount than their retail discount.
The discount is that small if you're buying small quantities.
It happened so many times. With retail they give us 5% discount. But for my friend that already become their wholesale customer for 15 years, they only give him 3%. He need to buy 1 case(usually 12-24pcs) to get 7% discount.

But we don't called them cheap, lying and dishonest retailer. Its just business, we just says they're expensive and find some other supplier.

Amiami, HLJ, Otacute, and HS don't have trouble making profit while not over valuing their merchandise. You're absolutely right though, they can set the price to whatever they want. Just because they can price their products however they want doesn't mean overvaluation is an honest or respectable business practice.

It's the truth, and to argue otherwise is nonsensical. The lie and 'hidden' fee are every cent above it's retail value. It compromises the shops integrity, if it didn't no one would raise the issue.

I haven't said anything about how great my store is. It's not even open yet.

You can't expect all store will be the same. They are unique on their own.

No, it's not normal. It has everything to do with being honest. Hence the reason reputable retailers don't do it. When they stock/restock they sell the item at a discount or at face value. If the practice were normal you'd be seeing every shop do it and not just a select few and some private collectors.

The price is already there, no hidden charges.
It might not a good business, but nothing is perfect.
HLJ also got less discount than amiami.
Amiami often said it can't be send with SAL, but it can be ship with SAL.

And if you wanna start your online store, just do what you think the best.
But don't tell other store being dishonest just because they're not selling their stuff according your standard prices.

Just got my doflamingo. He's huge. His box pretty much like Desktop mccoy OP.
But bonney is really small. She can fit into 1 of Otacute SAL box easily. Don't know why she's so expensive to ship.

Anyway, love Dofla sculpt! BUT the paint on his glasses is just bad(or maybe just me). And shading on his face is a bit uneven. 2/3 faces got a really dark shading.

Dofla is a space hogger, having a hard time finding how to display him.

They're obviously leaving off little details. No mention about the crew, either. Not sure what brand of paint people usually use, or how these colors will transfer over to non-Japanese hobby paints, but when I had difficulty with some of them (like "sail color" and "middle stone" I googled the katakana and always found a brand of paint called Mr. Color (from Mr. Hobby company) and took the English name from the bottle. So, it would appear that Mr. Color (Ｍｒ．カラー) is a rather popular brand of paint there.

My suggestion is just use some of the basic colors. I'm sure it will be good enough.

From my recent trip to Japan, I brought back a Sunny Bandai model kit. I haven't started yet because I'm trying to decide whether to go with the stickers or painting it, which would make it look a lot nicer, but I've never painted models before. I can't even read the names of the paints listed in the instructions, so I wouldn't know which exact colors to buy and how much. Has anyone put together and painted one before?

Yes. It takes so much time, but once you finished it, it will be awesome. WIth sunny, you just need to be patient.

In a perfect world, They're correct by telling us Bon Chan, Garp vol. 0 as a LIMITED.
But they should put this Chopper, Boa bikini, Luffy marineford repainted, Nami bikini as EXCLUSIVE.

Chopper, Bikini, Luffy and Ace 1.5 repainted are not limited, they are just exclusive to some store.
And most of the time, its easier to get them than a normal POP. Cos it seems they are made based on order quantities.

You need to add the weight of their shipping box too. And AMIAMI and Hobbysearch got the thickest shipping boxes.

I was going to open him when I received Kousei, but hell….can't wait that long.
Like Benhan's Kousei, he's also around 29cm tall. Got him for 1500yen. Really decent price considering 8400 is his retail price.

the quantity of pink elephant is way less than spandam and robin.
Im not sure how less it will be, and considering some onepiece fans can go crazy with something that's a bit rare, im afraid he'll not be cheap.

I love Boa GLC, that figure is excellent, definitely want another one. She's very well done.
GLC on a whole so far are pretty good. I'm not feelin' the Robin, Spandam, or Zoro but we'll see.

I think they add characters to the line. So not everyone are happy.

But i do agree about zoro. I think he's my least fav. one. Hopefully he can looks better on some angle.
He kinda reminds me to POP zoro =), they got the exact same expression. Kinda funny if i look at him that way XD.

Your "gut feeling" would make you pay a sweet amount for a bootleg if you were to buy the one at eBay. Of course it's hard to distinguish between the real one and the one that's being offered right now but that's the idea behind a really good bootleg; which the one kanji linked obviously is.

To put it simple, kanji - don't buy that Carue figure since it's a bootleg for sure. You may not see any significant differences at the moment but just use common sense. It will save you your cash.

well either that or I'll get a really good deal. I got my original bellemere for $10 bucks.

Maybe because Carue POP sells for 45K-50K Yen these days, bootleg manufactures can afford to spend 10-20K on materials and labour and still make a good profit on the sale. I can see the attraction, but I don't know whether I could stoop to buying bootlegs.

Is it possible they are just some leftovers from the factory? Carue is not really flying out from the shelf when it first released.

Anyway, i just wish they actually tell us what's the difference between that "bootleg" carue with the original.
Did he claimed its bootleg cos there's no sticker on it? But even some of the original don't have sticker.

All the lines are really sharp, the body is fully painted. The figure looks sturdy, not leaning forward or anything.
The paint looks correct, shiny on some parts, and matte on the rest of them. All perfect.

I dont know where is onepiece blogspot got those picures, but to my knowledge, that one is just as good as the original.

Onepiece ria has lots of pics of the GLCs. You can browse the close up pics there. I don't know how the GLCs are doing in sales in Japan. Maybe someone here has a source for info. As for me, I really like Jyabura, but my problem with them is not just that they are too big, but I just don't like the look on some of them. Hence, I have not gotten any.

Congrats on SDX Ace! I think SDX Ace by far is one of the best OP figures. Ouch on that price on Sage Naruto. I don't blame you for passing on him. That price is just insane.

Thanks snow. I love them more than their POP or any GLM. I think they are my fav OP figures at the moment.
They are really fun, you can swap their heads around. But yeah, I dont think they are super popular.
Their price just drop almost as soon as their released. I just hope they got enough support for banpresto to continue the line.
