There's really no good reason to think this.
I feel like it could be a setup for a joke. Well a 50/50 chance

I really get the feeling that Raid suit isn't going to work out as Sanji planned :p
Trailer showed off some customizations from not confirmed characters like Ace's hat,Perona's hair, Dolfie's glasses, and marine cap
I guessing giving up on your dreams you'll get fat and bald. :p
And 40 year old Luffy looks very handsome. I can see folks getting some fanart mileage out of Dad Luffy
Man I'm really bad at guessing colors Oda will use.
@dwo:
Very very bad story development in my opinion.
Brooks fight and strength feels forced. What is this a coincidence with both he and BM use souls?
Sanji is no use at all. This guy dissapoints me very much.
Luffy and Nami, pathetic.
And now all get rescued by little Pudding? Way too easy, boring and foreseeable that solution for such a complicated situation.
But they didn't get rescued by little Pudding. Everyone is still trapped.
I could be Ussop is the weakest. But that's like saying determining the worst player on the sports team
@Broccoli:
1. Luffy was worn out and couldn't fight all out, so being defeated by that army proves nothing and 2. It's been stated that the Straw-Hats are much stronger when they have something to fight for.
Oh I agree with you there . I just doubt Luffy knowing the situation would help at all. They still would be lose and be captured.
He knows Sanji is lying but not why. Really the only thing knowing about Zeff would do is give him the motivation to kick BM's ass so that she knows that if she tries to pull anything he'll take her down. At this point all the emperors are looking down on Luffy. Unless he does something drastic, like taking one of them out, then he isn't giving them a reason to assume different.
So do you think that motivation would've helped him beat that army?
Not really. Its W7 all over again. Even back then he and Zoro were more focused on finding out what was happening with Robin and so they lost the fights with CP9. Once they knew the full situation then they were able to go all out. I think if he knew that BM was threatening Zeff and put exploding cuffs on Sanji his rage would know no bounds.
Thing is Luffy was uncertain about Robin. Luffy straight up knew Sanji was lying
Besides what is good is knowing about Zeff would do. Luffy would still get his ass kicked by the army. :P
Idk. Maybe it would finally lead to Luffy yelling at him for being a dumbass that doesn't have faith in his crew or his father. It would at least give Luffy a reason to focus on beating BM rather than him focusing on why Sanji is acting like he is.
To be fair Luffy didn't come here to fight Big Mom. Plus doesn't him focusing on Sanji make him stronger? :P
How many chapters will toothless Luffy last? Any bets?
@Gentleman_Bastard:
That's the thing though. Sanji could continue being an asshole martyr and refuse to tell chopper what was actually going on and pull a whole " i hate you. I'm leaving the crew. go away" which, chopper being naive, would take seriously and it would break his heart. Or he could use it as a chance to tell chopper what's going on in the misguided hope that maybe it would make Luffy leave.
All possible but they still would end up in the same spot.
That's the other ridiculous part of this arc that pisses me off. Having chopper and carrot in the Mirror world would have been the perfect time to use them to clear up some misunderstandings but instead all we see is them running around and then getting captured. I know I should trust in Oda and he probably has a plan, but it's just frustrating seeing this crap happen week-to-week.
I doubt Chopper would clear anything up . He probably has no idea what's going on. Funny enough Luffy vs Sanji will probably be one of the things that the SH's never talk about and only a few of them know. :P
Brook was cool but why do I think he's gonna get one shotted next chapter? :P
@$abZ:
I don't see how his hands are tied. Like I said the only credible reason for Sanji going along with the wedding is to save Zeff, however like I also said if Luffy defeats Big Mom then what happens to Zeff? If he doesn't kill her (which he wont) could she get back up and still put a hit out on Baratie using her influence? Sanji should know that Zeff would slap him upside the head for what he's doing now. He should have had pen and paper ready when Zeff gave that speech on Luffy, because that shit is relevant right now. If you have the future Pirate King on your side you shouldn't be scared of nothing. The amount of near-death situations Luffy has escaped from, the amount of lives he has saved… Sanji seems to have forgotten.
.
To be fair doesn't Luffy losing to Big Mom's pirates kinda prove Sanji's point that his crew really does need protecting?
Honestly, I'm not too keen on the last crewmate being from Wano.
We already have Zoro and Jinbe who have the Japanese vibe to them. I prefer the last one to not have similar theme to them.
Probably why i'm not too keen on any of the samurai joining.On the side note, it has nearly been 5 years in real time since Jinbe was asked to join the crew…
I wonder how many years more before Jinbe officially joined?
Whenever this arc is finished. Then again who's to say it won't get postponed again. XD?
One has to wonder if the writing of Jinbe finally joining will be undercut by Sanji reuniting with his crew.
@Kaido:
Zoro is the mother of Perona, and as a mother, he is stronger than Kaido. Debate solved.
Sometimes you skip posts and wonder how you got here.
Did she just juice a person? What an interesting fetish? :p
I'm assuming it was Kaido
Edit : auem Already said it…
no idea he is a japanese speaker,but i always heard that that was the truth..also,nami does call the rest of the strawhats just by their name doesn't she?
does that means she actually feels closer to sanji than to the others? she sure doesn't act like it
Not a native speaker but I'm assuming Nami adds kun because Sanji refers to her as Nami-swan. I always figured Nami was just being cute to Sanji to fuel his ego :p
Actually has someone ever asked Oda this in Sbs?
Wow at the gap between One Piece and Bleach. :p
Removing bracelets doesn't require special powers or such an amazing skills that only a few can have, it requires speed and observation Haki to know the right moment the bracelet is gonna explode.

Or you just use a key :p
Luffy : No Sanji no crew!
And yes Luffy can do the same thing as Religh because why?
@Shobu:
He needs an advice, Jinbe is one of the accurate followers of Luffy to do it. He can be any where but alive, i don't give a thing about a prison actually
Lol, it was boring for me. I don't find amusing reading love stories and everthing in this chapter pointed the importance of marriage… it was one thing that certainly was not boring but i don't feel like saying right now.
Relax, Oda didn't make a sacrilege this time.
It's necessary his attitude as am implied before, but expected.
I get he's desperate for retrieving Sanji at all costs (not demanding stupid things like the ones i was arguing last chapter), yet he has many nakama there and as it's recited by Nami, she only cares for him staying in that place waiting for a beating, she don't care for his strike but his safety.
To me, playing dumb as a naive child, is something remarkably stupid, specially when he should stop playing little pirate games.
Don't you mean "Luffy is being dumb" instead of "Luffy is playing dumb"?
Wut?
How is this a thing?
Yes, it's canon. The setting and lines for it are there.
'How could she love him?'
Wut?
How on earth is that your first conclusion?
Viola used her body to survive.
Oh noooo, confirmation that a bad guy is actually a bad guy….
Not like there weren't hints folks.
Didn't you ever find it odd that Mingo just happened to keep her around?
It didn't hit you as strange that she uses a term for him that, even only the inner circle of his inner circle uses to address him?End of story.
I guess some fans don't know what a Honey Pot is?
Or 4.) He gets beaten to a pulp and we launch into the reversed save Luffy arc.
This could happen. Luffy did they he wouldn't leave that spot until Sanji comes back and Sanji can't come back to save Luffy… Maybe they'll capture Luffy and take him to Big Mom.
I'd laugh if Sanji has to end up saving Luffy :p
edit: @Green-Hair beat me to it :P
@Al!naJames:
That's exactly the point though? It's not a part of the story, but because it's not covered doesn't mean it doesn't happen? We don't see characters portrayed going to bathrooms but that doesn't mean they don't go there for their regular humans needs. And Oda didn't even bring this up in-story, making a vague suggestion in a Q&A page doesn't really do much.
You do bring up a good point. I general characters having sex OP may not even be a big deal. XD
So Luffy out here waiting for Sanji like Seymour waiting for Fry
To be fair Big Mom probably has sex with a bunch of dudes who probably don't like her too.
@The:
Well, Oda did state this (almost finished) year as the Year of Sanji, not to mention this is an arc that's centered around him. It's understandable why people want some Mr. Prince moments to remember.
Personally, I wish this was the Year of Jinbei.:ninja:
Funny enough Jinbei showing up and going missing for many chapters is a Mr Prince like scenario. :ninja:
No, I liked the chapter, unlike the rest of the complainers (I see their point, but I like Oda's execution of the events so far, so it doesn't bother me). I just want to see Sanji being bad ass during the finale and whatnot.
I understand this but Sanji already spelled out why none if this is happening now. He can't outsmart everyone on his own…
Actually where is Jinbe now that I think about.
I hope Luffy gets captured and we get some awesome Mr. Prince shenanigans.
You guys are still on this? Ugh
Living with Big Mom must be fun.
That;s some NTR shit with Viola and doffy.if it is actually legit and not just trolling by oda or something,i can get why he didn't include it in any way,but at the same time why am i so interested in their paring too?:ninja:
i guess NTR like shit in OP just seems so forbidden love :unsure:
Is that how NTR works or did I misunderstand that term? :p
@Count:
Oda can always top this by hinting that the Boa Sisters were sex slaves.
To be fair there are some fans who already think that.
Thanks sandman
@sandman:
Q: I was strictly scolded by my mother. Is my mother stronger than Akainu?
Oda: Mother in general is the strongest creature in the world. She is stronger than Kaidou, but she loves you more than anyone.
- It is Tontattas who told Norland about how to cultivate pumpkins.
*Sorry for confusing you, again..q: What if I tear apart women's bras like Smoker did to Tashigi('s body)?
Oda: OK! Let's finish SBS. See you in the next volume!!
My Mom> Kaidou confirmed
And Oda didn't want to answer that question :P
As well as Perona, Shirahoshi, Coby, and every pink-haired character in One Piece.
I could belive that. :ninja:
It's not like Sanji challenged captain's decisions like in Usopp situation. He just wants to leave, lol.
Luffy: I refuse your refusal
Yeah, the art is always amazing and it's really easy to just take it for granted. As Oda said years ago, drawing comes easy to him… but writing a good story is difficult.
And I imagine it's not getting any easier after 800+ chapters.
As for the content of the chapter, yeah I mostly share the concerns, but I'm not willing to judge yet. My only hope for now is that Nami joined the act from the first second, and Jinbe doesn't become a sidelined Bellamy 2.0
It has been a while since Jinbe showed up. I almost forgot he was in this arc :p
I never said he would step in read the post. But until he apologizes and knows his place he won't accept him back in the crew same way Ussop wouldn't be allowed back in. Hitting your captain is blasphemy. Repeatedly on the head too. No one has ever violated Luffy like that the way Sanji did this chapter. Luffy is a kind soul, Zoro is savage.
And think about it Luffy told Nami to not interfere but she still slapped him. Switch Nami with Zoro in this scenario and it would be an epic beat down. Sorry if you think otherwise Zoro is the most no nonsense member of the crew.
But Nami is more emotional than Zoro. Plus you remember what Zoro said about just leaving Sanji alone. I doubt Zoro vs Sanji would happen here.
I'm kinda disgusted by how Sanji went ham on Luffy. Pure disgust, Zoro would never do this and that's why he's the vice captain in fact if Zoro saw this he'd never accept him back in the crew that's why Oda separated him from the rescue mission.
One of the best chapters I've read in years.
But I fully expect Sanji to redeem himself.
I disagree with you and everyone saying Zoro would've stepped him. Luffy would've asked all crew members from stepping in and Zoro is probably the last one who would interfere.
Good question… I'm just thinking of possibilities.What's about Zeff himself? Not talking about strength or something but he still was a famous pirate.What if he has some connection and knows what is going on and he actually will do something about Sanji's conflict in some form.Most epic thing would be him appearing and saying.Hey little eggplant... You don't even invite your father to your wedding?
Don't care how impossible that is I want it to happen.
How do you know? Days have passed since we have seen them.
Uh why would any of the Grand Fleet be in the East Blue?
Call the SH alliance <3
That are all in the New World while BM has people close enough to take a picture of Zeff :p
Of course he doesn't. He's got explosives on his wrists and a metaphorical knife to the throat of his "true" father. There is no plan, he's going with the flow. At best he's waiting for an opportunity to do something, at worst he's given up. Either way, direct help from the other strawhats is unnecessary and unwelcome. Him kicking Luffy away is showing that. He's going to handle this on his own.
Yeah I don't understand why some of you shocked Sanji doesn't have a plan. Most of he plans are just go with flow anyways.
Man, I did like this chapter, but at the same time I want to slap bothe Sanji and Luffy in the face after reading. C'mon, Sanji should've more faith in his captain, I'm not sure what he could've do, but anything would be better than sticking to his "family", and Luffy because of "Without you I can't be PK", WTF? When he fought Usopp, he was decided to leave him, decided to not let things get in his way. Now I know why Oda didn't take Zoro with them, he sure would've oni giri the shit of the vinsmokes, and Sanji and Luffy.
Sanji is the cook he's more valuable to Luffy than everybody on the crew XD
Honestly, anything would have been better than this. If really there is nothing he can do, then just say it instead of putting up that shitty act. Fight with Luffy if he must, but slip in a word or two. Flail around those bracelets until the other two blockheads notice it. I've always liked Sanji's character precisely because he would make the best of even the worst situations. That's what "Mr Prince" was all about. So seeing him surrender like that to pressure and blackmail is really unwelcome.
Plus, the supposedly big emotional moment stems from choices that completely contradict what both characters were trying to achieve until now (infiltration for Luffy, find a way out for Sanji), so I have an even harder time giving in to any emotion it should give off.
You assume that Sanji is planning on coming back :p
This is one of the best chapters of One Piece I've read in a while. Hit me right in the feels. :sad:
The artwork was really on point too. Don't get the sense of feeling from just reading spoilers.
luffy wouln't be damaged if kicked without hardening
Didn't Luffy vs Hody teach us that you can still hurt Luffy without haki?
I'm not crying,Oda. There's just some crap stuck in my eye :'(
I'm guessing Big Mom can just list souls into the weather… Weird but not that crazy.
