Ah, that's probably Tv Tokyo's doing. Honestly, i don't know too much about Japan's broadcasting, but watching the animes airing on Tv Tokyo, the impression is that their censorship laws are more…restrictive than the others.

It's all about timeslots. Pretty sure this is a sunday morning anime aimed mostly at younger kids, even tho I at 22 fiendishly enjoy it

Overall it is a lil' disappointing, but we have about as much control over ASJ as a fly over a steamroller.

Most companies see fansubbing as promotional these days, esp. ones that at least PRETEND to care about their "hardcore fanbase."

But for goodness sake, if you downloaded the series and claim to be a huge fan, buy the releases, and support the product, esp at reasonable prices. $45 a season is WAY cheaper than 6 dvds a season x 20 err hows that calculate?

Getting a ds lite was probably the best decision I've made ina while. and here's one more reason.

So, for those of you who remember this show, how hilarious was it? I remember getting up every sunday at 9am to catch the show, (until SciFi Channel stopped airing in like 2004). For those too young/never seen it, the premise is a man and 2 wise-cracking robots are forced to watch horrible movies, and hilarity ensues.

I recently found torrents online and watched the entire first season (first 6 seasons had different actors) and my belief has been reaffirmed that this show is ingenius and off-the-wall funny. For those who've never seen it, I highly recommend it, duh.

Wow. I love the clip-talk in 25 and then its a non-flashback ep! Amazing, only gintama would do such things! And when I heard death note parody I wasn't expecting something THIS hilarious. The evil grimaces on Gintama were priceless

I saw it in theatres, my god, so atrocious.

New subbing group is on par with Shinsen-subs, me thinkest. Only complaint about either group is the lack of subtitling the funny captions before/after the show, which the first group did. Otherwise highly approved.

Only 52 episodes total for this series right? Whats the chapter->current episode gap look like?

Claymore ep 1 was excellent. Hopefully the quality is consistent, but I find it much more appealing than the manga (i only read first chapter tho) and will continue to follow this one.

Hayate! The Combat Butler is hilarious. Definitely a pleasant surprise to see it lived up to its hype.

! despite having the ending SPOILED yea it was incredibly freakin cheesy, the bad guy just turned good again, omg 2 white kakugane's huge shock, my favorite was papillion-sama bit. Overall series is like a 5.5/10, definitely not watching again any time soon.

I read the flopped manga, first 3 volumes, from my library. Not bad. I wouldn't mind having a copy of that sweet english/japanese doubleprints they had a while back (same comic twice, in 2 languages)

…as much as you have to complain about this series, you must like it at least somewhat to justify reading the manga AND watching the anime. Truthfully I only give it like a c+, and thats due to characters and a few cool abilities. Some of them are downright useless tho.

Actually at an average of four volumes a year, it should take them around seven to eight years to catch up to where Japan is at this moment in time, i.e. the end of the Water 7/CP9/World Government arc. However, who knows how much further ahead the series will be by then.

I really doubt either Naruto or One Piece will ever be dropped from ASJ either, those are prolly running till the end. 8 years better than never I guess…

The movie was great. Only movie I've seen in theaters in YEARS, holy crap the movies are teh $10 now!

The effects were good, CGI didn't look like cgi. (except maybe cg-abs, eh? eh?) Sheer brutality of the fighting was good but, as a spartan enthusiast friend of mine pointed out, they not only defended in Flank formation (shields up spears out) but attacked in it as well, so all the scenes of them running out of shielded position and doing ridiculous kills were pretty hollywood and not real to life.

Also in the comic its based on, when the human mutant talks to the king, he goes "you aren't a Spartan, you're a mosnter" and boots him off a cliff. Maybe they thought someone would be offended?

Yea [SS] doesn't seem to care about competition which is prolly a good thing. Whatever gets me Gintama faster, (not to mention we're almost at the Death note episode hehe).

Gonna check out these two new eps later tonight. Maybe these dudes will translate before/after episode captions like bakaneko?

Partially in response to people who think watching cartoons or reading comics is a waste of time, or to those soulsearching as to a purpose in their life, I will share 2 of my positive experiences with the mediums of anime and manga.

1. Motivating interesting in a physical activity - Just like Eyeshield 21 reminded me why I loved to watch football, watching Slam Dunk really brought back my passion for the game of Basketball. Ever since I began watching it I've been incorporating playing Bball more into my daily workout. I imagine this can work with almost any sports-themed anime/manga

2. Motivation to learn a language - My interest in Japanese language and culture was also provoked by anime and manga, as I'm sure is the case with many people who really decide to study the language. If all goes well, I should be doing a year internship next year in Tokyo or Kyoto.

So anyone w/ positive stories, share your experiences! (and stay posi)

I think the point I and killerfly are trying to make is that DN uses rivalry and "battles" of a sort in a way that makes it exciting, even tho its outside the norm for Shonen Jump series.
