    Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

      I think, that because Momo can hear the "sound of all things", the lanterns will talk to him, when he tries to move the island. He will hear the cries of his country, that has been destroyed in the last 20 years, and he will able to power himself up. Let´s not forget that Momo to a certain point could be a Secret Weapon, he must shown why that could be.

      Are we sure that Kaido hasn't already awakened his fruit, last time I check is called the Fish-Fish fruit, and he is clearly a dragon. We may see him in the flashback learn to take his fruit into a new level.

      I am with Robby in that Bojji is the best! But also after catching up with the series, I have to say that Queen Hiling is such a good character! That I could watch just a spinoff series of her if they need to make something between seasons.

      Is clear that Yamato is gonna be the new nakama, apart from him being a very unique character design wise, Oda made sure to give him a very distinctive quality story wise. He met Ace before. Ace and his impact in Luffy as a catalyst is a key point for the series. The biggest problem Oda has now, if he wants to make a new Nakama is how much connection will that person have with Luffy overrall on the series. No new nakama is really needed, but if it was, its needs to be someone that can in some form have a raport with the overall story of Luffy. And Oda has decided to elevate the story of Yamato around a key person in the life of Luffy. Yamato has been waiting for Luffy since the start of the series, that makes it for worth it as a character than any other one. Tama being a close second, but I think her role is more connected to the reformation of the smile users, than any new type of nakama.

      I think the big problem with the Nami fight is that its main purpose it was not to showcase Nami's tricks and abilities to defeat a powerfull oponent, but to give a proper ending and establish for good her new power up.
      Since the first moment in the raid her whole story line has move around encountering Big Mom and develop her relationsip with Zeus. That is why almost all the fight was offscreen as that wasn't the point.
      Makes no sense in using panels on Nami thinking about how to fight Ulti if the final panel was always going to be her attacking with Zeus. It feels to me that Oda decided more on having Nami and Ussop being a conduit for Tama than anything else. Also a good excuse to showcase how fragile pirates can be under the stress of life and death situation, with her resolve of defending Luffy's dream being compared to the surrender of Ulti's personal one. I think the person that had the most to lose was Ussop as he cleared was put on the back of the whole "Nami and Zeus" storyline. It will be interesting to see how Oda gives back Ussop a moment to shine after his none fight with Page1.

      @Seafarer33:

      Been catching up, reeeeeaaally interesting discussion. Love Robby's insight on comics creation in the long run, it couldn't ring truer.

      One thought that's been nagging me for a while, though, and could have some weight in the five-year count : are we absolutely certain that we're ever going to have an Elbaf arc?
      We're assuming there's going to be one for a number of valid reasons, that we do. Big Mom has some unfinished business with giants and Usopp wants to become a brave warrior of the sea and there's that big-ass tree over there, not to mention prince Loki who almost married Lola. But then, what of it ? What if this is just another story Oda from a decade ago would have loved to brush but modern Oda choses to let go ? Is any of that required to bring One Piece closer to its end ? No. We visited the island once in Big Mom's flashback and maybe that's all we're ever going to see of it. Luffy already has the world's only Giant Pirates crew for allies. Lola (maybe) married someone. We have enough information to guess what really happened to mother Caramel. Big Mom can live on without a giant in her kingdom. The tree is interesting and mysterious and possibly linked to the D kingdom, but so are a dozen other landmarks in the world of One Piece that we may never learn more about… The only reason I could picture Elbaf as an absolute milestone is if the last Road Poneglyph was revealed to be there. But so far its location is unknown and even that could be skipped now we have Yamato and Oden's journal.

      Don't misunderstand me, I would love the story to take a detour in Elbaf and if there has to be another destination after Wano it might as well be there since the place has been teased repeatedly over the years. But when everything's said and done, the story could very well wrap up without ever needing to set foot in there.

      There is a very good theory about Elbaf being the island of Shanks, that makes a lot of sense. Basically, the strawhats will defeat Shanks and crew on a "Davy Back Fight", probably for the secret to where the last poneglyph is. There is a lot of assumptions about it, like Mihawk will be with Shanks to be under a Yonkou now that the Shichibukai system is abolished. So we can have Luffy, Zoro and Ussop facing their heroes and the latter becoming a great warrior of the sea by then.
      Mr. Morj (hopefully I am taping his name correctly) is the guy behind the theory, he has a video about it on youtube.

      I really hope so too. As you said, the whole sensei speech with Hinata understanding the situation was just heart wrenching. I really hope the team doesn't loose just because Hinata is away.
      And yes, this thread needs more love, the last few chapters of this manga, has been by far one of my best reads of the week.
