Decided to not buy the Switch, not yet. I got so hyped for it expecting for it to replace my PSVita but the closer we got to launch the more small problems popped up. Issues with left joycon, friend codes, lack of save transfer, huge lack of online features, no bluetooth support for other devices, no browser, media apps, and it just keeps going. We already know that some of those will be addressed in future updates but I'm already expecting a new model for the Switch to be announced next year or so since there also seem to be some small design issues with the hardware that can be easily fixed with an updated model.

This sort of annoys me because the game lineup is so good that I'll be taking those $300 out of my pocket by the end of this year knowing that the next I'll do the same for a better version. >.<

Managed to order a BotW special edition online through Toys R Us. Cost me almost $140 with shipping + tax. >.<

Whatever…I got it and that's all that matters right now. Wanted the Master Edition but knowing Nintendo they won't be selling any more of that.

Even if we were speaking objectively, Overwatch didn't do anything what others haven't already done. Sure it's a fun-online game, but game of the year material? Hell no.

Have you played Overwatch and other team-based shooters? Because what you're writing shows as if you have no idea how it evolved/improved the genre. Overwatch definitely deserves the GOTY award as do other handful of games.

Ah yes MGSV. Truly a pinnacle of Triple A game development. Do you remember Quiet? Such an amazing character. They really poured their budget for amazing writing and character design in that game. They really broke a ton of barriers within the industry with that.

I'm incredibly hyped for Wargroove. It's basically Advance Wars in a medieval fantasy setting which is great. I've been wanting to play a new Advance Wars game for years now and I'm happy this will satisfy me.

Well 4Kids is basically dead so I don't think that will be a problem. They're currently under bankruptcy protection IIRC.

Yeah, just saw it. Not sure what to make of it though. It's releasing in May so box art could get updated before it is actually relased, even though the pics there look really final to me.

Odd to me that everyone here loves that last panel. Luffy hasn't eaten for, what, 24 hours or less? By he looks like Crocodile just sucked the water out of him. The effects of not eating, even in the world of One Piece, shouldn't be that drastic. He looks like he hasn't eaten in days or a week.

It has already been explained a number of times now that Luffy consumes more energy than a normal human being. The way he looks after not eating for close to 24 hours seems just fine for someone like him.

Well I can't believe I'm saying this…but I'm not buying the Switch, at least not at launch. I can honestly do way more things with my VITA than the Switch so far from what I've read. I find this really disappointing and don't see the Switch going that far ahead in sales after BotW if they don't get their shit straight.

I'm gonna have to buy BotW for Wii U, because I'm not paying $300 to just play Zelda on the go for he first 6 or so months the console is released.

It's unbelievable how out of touch Nintendo is with online features. It's almost like their entire staff is made up of people who only use Nintendo products and have no knowledge of the competition besides smartphone games because there isn't a Nintendo phone.

Yeah…. the new Mario game looks so odd. When I was watching the stream I was like "wtf?!". Mario just looks SO off in both the new york city and that jungle world. It looks like a mod from another game that you can use to play as Mario in it.

A question, what does Reiju says about her own modifications in the VIZ version? In the MS version she states she has been modified so that she couldn't disobey Judge's orders, while in Yonkouprod translation she doesn't mention anything about it.

They made a big deal about an app to use voice chat, make game session appointments or whatever etc. Have they clarified if those features are actually intergrated into the os of the console itself or really just an app? I wouldn't put it past nintendo to be THAT stupid.^^

This hasn't been addressed at all by Nintendo. So far all the info we got is that we'll be able to make online lobbies and voice chat through a smartphone app and that's it. I really wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't do any of those things on the actual console considering this is Nintendo we're talking about.

Based on everything I've read…voice chat and online lobbies will be handled on a seperate smartphone app, not on the Switch itself. Which sounds incredibly retarded IMO.

Fire Emblem Warriors has me really excited for the Switch. I wonder what mechanics will they incorporate from the original games to this one? All I can think of currently is switching weapons…hmmm.

When Tesoro is in his big Gold Statue form…. how da hell is he able to shoot lasers? I thought his powers were derived from Gold, shooting lasers comes out of left-field. Lmao.... I know it's One Piece, but still... Just seems a bit too out-of-theme. Do they explain that?

So the movie started great with amazing animation and right after the plot twists the animation quality takes a nose dive and it feels like I'm watching a really good anime episode instead which was really disappointing considering that Strong World and Z had a very consistent animation quality.

Also…

! That scene where Raise Max and all the other guys throw themselves to the seastone fan to stop it made absolutely no sense even for One Piece standards IMO. Really bothered me.
! The logic of beating Baccarat is there but the way it was handled was pretty underwhelming. Magical bag with a slotmachine in it was a bit too unbelievable for me.
! Tesoro's backstory looked very interesting and they should've given more focus to it than just give us a 20 second flashback.

Everything else was great. Definitely one of the most entertaining One Piece movies out there. Really fun to watch.

I believe Pudding is scheming with Bege. Pekoms being captured by Bege while the strawhats were being distracted with Pudding, Reiju appearing like if she's inside Bege in the last chapter and now with Pudding, heck earlier in the arc where she was with Tamago she might've had to meetup with Bege. It would make a lot of sense IMO.

Also Pudding being evil makes more sense than her being good and I don't get how a lot of people are saying that it came out of nowhere when there's so much pointing to her not being honest at all.

lol I've encountered 2 terrible glitches so far in the game.

One where I fast traveled and spawned out of bounds of the world map. I couldn't call a chocobo and my party members didn't even appear around me. There was no way for me to get back since the world is surrounded by invisible walls. Had to reload last autosave.

The other one was in a story quest on a power plant where I had to defeat all enemies in less than 5 minutes. I defeat all enemies, counter keeps going. After 30 seconds I ran around the place to check if maybe I missed something or I need to be on a specific place to trigger another wave of enemies. Nothing. Time's up, game over. lolwut

THIS. What bothers me the most is how the shadows on her cleavage are baked on the model's texture. So it doesn't matter the positioning of the world's lighting that cleavage will always be marked there in her chest and it will forever be visible because boobs.

What if Big Mom's story is actually concluded in Elbaf? There is this weird plot point about her hate to giants, we kind of have to go there for Usopp's secundary dream, it would give her own time to shine, maybe an oportunity to outdo Kaido in military might at least, would force us to stew on what we have seen of Whole Cake Island for 2-3 years, like a mini marineford, and would set up the chance to replace her generals. There's also the posibility of her following Luffy to Wano. Or Greg's prediction of her becoming an ally.

I could definitely see many of those things as a possibility. Although Big Mom turning into an ally right now seems way more uncertain for me now than before.

It's comments like this that makes me realize that everyone is playing the wrong game when looking for their "Final Fantasy" Fix. Obviously one should really be playing Bravely Default. That's Final Fantasy…and not...whatever the heck happened to Final Fantasy post FFX.

Heck, call me when Square realizes that they should be putting the BD team on the FF franchise because honestly they probably have a better grasp of what FF is than the laughing joking numbnuts that are making the FF games post FFX.

Oh yeah definitely, but BD feels like a better FFIII. I want a modern take on the job system, not a another FFIII or a slighly improved version of that.

Well so far I'm enjoying the game even with its flaws. I really like the combat and it's basically what's keeping me playing. There are only fetch quests in this game which is really underwhelming for a game that has been in development for so long, but I can tolerate it.

Compared to FFXIII I prefer FFXV. I could only play 5 hours of FFXIII and I'm currently 12 hours in on FFXV and plan to keep going. Does it live up to the hype? Hell no! But it's still fun IMO.

I completely understand everyone here who doesn't find it fun and feel like the series has completey deviated into something else.

If there's one thing I wish is to see a new FF title (that's not an MMO) take on the job system from FFIII. I freaking loved that.

I was about to throw a full blown rant here on how can there be so many who prefer crunchy over smooth, but then I saw the current poll results and I am happy all is good in the world.

So I'm FINALLY getting my Moon copy today. Anything I should know before I jump in? Last Pokemon game I actually cleared was Ruby. The rest I only played for a couple of hours and got bored. Played the demo and I'm pretty sure this game will bring me back to the series.

I'm playing Zero Time Dilemma right now and I can't wait to finish it and replay all 3 games. This new release that includes 999 and VLR will definitely help with that. Plus I've wanted to have the whole trilogy on the PSVITA, so this new collection is perfect.

I would like to know how is the 2 screen story presentation in 999 going to translate to 1 screen. Will it ruin the true ending's mind blowing revelation?

My hype levels for Sonic Mania are going through the roof. Already pre-ordered the collector's for PC. Game is looking fantastic.

Thing is that for a console that's supposed to release in less than 5 months we sure have very little info on it. Even though we've had a couple of games already releasing sometime on the NS, we have gotten nothing besides Zelda for launch. We had way more third party game announcements for the Wii U before it was officially unveiled than the NS.

Nah, not necessarily. There have already been a number of games that were announced before the NS' reveal that are coming out for it.

That's true. So far Zelda is the only game we're sure will be day 1.

I don't mind having just one game to play the moment it releases though. I regularly buy a console as long as it will have 5 games or more that I want to play on it, and I already saw 5 games I want to play on it so I know it won't be a bad purchase.

Well in my case I love portable gaming. I'll definitely prefer to play any game on a console where I can play both at home and on the go. So a game that releases for multiple platforms including the NS, I'll most definitely buy the NS version because of the portability; Unless the port is terrible of course.

You all know that if Nintendo doesn't get enough third party support for the NS we're going to have another Wii U situation here right? They did release a whole list of partners, but that doesn't really mean much besides them having a devkit to develop games for the console. If the NS specs can't compare to the XB1 and/or PS4 this means we won't be getting that many multiplatform games from third parties that regularly release games on those consoles. They keep selling the NS primarily as a home console, when so far from what we've seen it really isn't.

So far, even with the info we've received, I still plan to buy it day one. The NS is looking like the PSVITA I always wanted; I just hope it doesn't die like it.

So I'm going full into game design and as part of the education involved in it, I naturally need to play as many games as possible.

Given it's me, this already happens, but one of the flaws I have is that a lot of the games I have on the "to play" list are things I want to stream fully or play completely from beginning to end which is nice but not practical for what I need.

So, what I wanted to ask is if people had any games they recommend for brief 1-2 hours looks. Things like free/cheap games on steam that are worth checking out, or on iOS/Android,… heck, retro games are also acceptable since my computer should be able to emulate at the least up to SNES/GBA quality games, possibly DS ones too. I also have access to PSN via my PS3 as well as Nintendo eShop via Wii U and 3DS.
I'd even ask about good board games to check out but I don't exactly have people to play those with locally so that might not work as well...

Again, the goal would be games that are nice to experience briefly that shine in terms of their concepts and mechanics, not something where I would need to spend several hours to appreciate. Thanks everyone!

If this is for game design I really recommend The Stanley Parable. Short and well designed game. You can find it on Steam.

Yeah… after reading that article Foolio posted I'm definitely way more skeptical about the Switch. I love the idea, but all hopes of playing current gen quality games on the Switch have pretty much been destroyed especially after seeing the devkit's specs. I'm not saying that we won't get good games out of this, but I can see that third party support dying quickly a year after launch which would basically leave Nintendo on the same spot it's on now.

I'm definitely buying it day one for sure though. The experience of being able to play games on the go is something I've always wanted and preferred, but my hope for its success is waning after the info I've received so far.

Yeah… those specs are pretty bad overall. Hopefully it's just for the tablet and that dock actually gives it a boost in performance.

The crew is not in any need to be saved, so I'm not sure what your point is here.

I understand those who are bit frustrated/annoyed about the similarities this is having to W7/EL rescue arc, but the way it is shown here is very different. I don't see a reason why we need an explanation as to why Sanji is doing this when it is already explained in the chapter before he confronts Luffy. He's basically making sure Luffy doesn't fuck up and make him lose his hands and Zeff.

No one is calling Sanji a fragile little thing because is daddy didn't love him. His family beat him up on a daily basis and his father told him "You are not my son I don't give two shits about you", anyone would be traumatized by that.
I don't think anyone is contesting that Sanji was traumatized as a kid, like a lot of characters in the series were. Usopp is a liar because his mother died and he couldn't deal with that, that's a trauma.
A trauma is not the end of the line just a bump in the road, it may fuck up your suspension though.

A while ago you asked me if I was reading the same series, I could ask you the same now.
One Piece spends half of it's time saying "your family doesn't have to be those with whom you share you dna but those with whom you share love".
Zeff is not Sanji's father figure, he's his father. And he taught his son "You can be an asshole, to me or other people, when I kick you you can kick back, I don't care. But if you hurt a lady it will hurt me"
It's not about Zeff commiting suicide literaly, it's about being the total opposite of Judge.
Judge: you cause me pain so you can even hurt yourself and die and I don't care; Zeff: I care so much about you that the only way you'll hurt me is if you break my golden rules.

We saw Sanji being rejected and losing a family because he "failed" Judge. The last thing he wants is to do something that would cost him Zeff's love and care.
So Sanji was selfish and failed his mission until a crewmate came to the rescue. And Sanji knows and admitted that.
Even though he told Kalifa he would beat her up if he had to he failed to do that, because he was brought up with the ideal/principle to never hit a woman.
He wanted to be able to fight Kalifa and safe Robin and protect his crewmates/family but doing that would cost himhis other family and he just couldn't do it.

A character you like did something you really disagree with becuase of reasons the story has already explained.
It's ok for you not to like that scene, it's ok for you to like the character a little less, it's ok for you to think that the course of thinking/action he took is so fucking dumb but that's the way the character is.

That's a nice interpretation, too bad that's all it is. The manga hasn't made this entirely clear. So far we know Zeff told him women should not be hit and that he considers himself as his parent. Hopefully we'll get more background on this, but so far you're just interpreting it in your own way.
