Before you move this to the anime section, please consider this is intimately tied with Oda as a creator of the franchise and how it relates to his creation:The actual original manga.
People always say he either hates it and shuts up due to pressure from Toei and Shueisha, I have quietly thought that he is so busy he cant actually watch it… But people of the former are very vocal and I think they are wrong.
There are plenty of Mangaka who have been openly hateful of the anime adaptations of their work. Like Natsuki Takaya who HATED HATED HATED the work of Akitaro Daichi on Fruits Basket. And now Ahiru no Sora creator loathed the anime and ranted about it on Twitter. Openly.
So what gives? Does Oda LIKE the anime? DISLIKE it?
There's no evident that suggests that Oda watches the anime adaptation of his manga, ONE PIECE, is there? But let's say he watches some important episodes. Not the whole anime. Does he care or not? Does that mean anything to me as a consumer? No. As long the original material and the creator have as much freedom as possible to express his thoughts, his view. To voice everything his heart contents, I'm totally fine. I bet on it, the day the manga finishes completely, there will be time to remake the anime following the manga 100%.
The cooks who pointed pisols at Sanji in Baratie.
Law's middle finger.
Whitebeard's half or third of his head got damaged in battle with Akainu.
Everything.
Didn't Oda want to see "Shokugeki no Sanji" animated?
