You don't always need to try things in order to know whether they suit your taste or not. Yeah, I've watched animes and haven't picked up the manga. There's some where I have. I'd rather either wait for another season or just as easily not even bother. Because of the possibility that even though the manga continues it won't be good like the anime or the anime ended so poorly that I don't want to read the manga. There are series that I like and if I see that they won't continue an anime or that I want to read more of the story then I will. Being a fan of something doesn't mean that I'll become this blind fan that will pick up the manga just because. There's also things in the anime that you don't get in the manga like the music voices and the artwork. Things like that which I like too see. For example Beck is one of my favorite animes it ended short of the manga however, I can't see myself picking up the manga just to read it because with out the music I wouldn't be nearly as interested. I waited for major to finish and i'm currently keeping my fingers crossed for initial D.

Anime's tend to fall to the way side when they divert from the manga only rarely can a series have a bunch of fillers and still be run. I believe that Naruto did it and so does Detective Conan. That doesn't mean I'm going to run out and read both mangas.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side man. Yes fillers are lame however, they're apart of anime. I don't mind a little filler sprinkled in but when it takes over the story like like say DC or like in Naruto's case with 2 years of filler. Hell even soul eater took some awkward filler anime driven dive that I bothered not to watch or read the manga. Full Metal Alchemist is the same. It happens I can either watch it or not. However, they did re-do FMA. Or it can just abruptly end like D gray man. But whatever doesn't mean I'm just going to up and pick up the manga.

It's not even that you aren't reading the original. It's that you aren't reading an original that has exclusive material the anime never got to. A LOT of exclusive material.

Of course after it made that point, it then proceeded to continue with the brute strength approach, right down to Yuuske getting a Super Saiyin demon power up transformation.

Yeah, that did happen however, you couldn't realistically expect them to all of a sudden turn that into the way fights would happen. It was a cool trick but that's it. It was also used to further the story and prepare yusuke for what was coming ahead.

Yeah the seemingly random demon transformation that is eventually explained and once again leads us to the what is going to happen next. However, you can so what you want about the demon transformation you want too but Yusuke wasn't a normal human. It was demonstrated time and time again the fight that he was able to take out Toguro who had to wish to become a demon should raise some flags and what do you know it eventually gets explained to us.

I actually liked YYH, but it's really the predesor to Bleach by this aspect. Essentially, the first arc notwithstanding, there are only two types of arcs you see in YYH, training arcs that are followed by tournament arcs.

YYH's fights after the first tournament saga are literally nothing but outpowering your enemies with little to no thought involved.

HxH seldom, if ever, degraded to this. HxH's fight's are incredibly intelligent. Very reminiscent of Jojo.

I mean, that was the entire point of the fight between Knuckle and Gon. You can't outpower your enemy (or rather, you couldn't get a chance to) so you had to get creative.

I don't see how that's a degrade. If you're strong you win. I can list about 2000 thousands quotes about how the strong win etc etc etc. When you're weak you'll have to come up with a way in order to try and defeat your opponent.
