but the way kaku was introduced made it seem sorta like he would join (before all the cp9 stuff) with all the mountain wind stuff and showing his crazy jumping skills, but iunno maybe thats just me
nah, the one in the luffy vs usopp fight was an impact dial
he even refered to it as an impact dial; atleast in the anime, ill check the manga

Didn't Ruffy feel weak in the Kairoseki(sp?) cage that Crocodile had in that casino even when he wasn't touching it? And it's said that Kairoseki has the same effect as seawater? Are you sure you arn't thinking of drinking/sugar(?) water?

he felt weak at first because he was grabbing the bars of the cage, and then smoker hit him with his jutte which has the kairouseki tip but when he was just hanging around in the cage he was perfectly fine (sanji impression ftw)
