I don't reckon Whitebeard would be set up as a main bad guy, mabey a major opponent, but hes been shown to a be a Luffy-esq pirate in the same kind of way as shanks. Plus I think white beard will 'retire' for the race for pirate king when he meets Luffy and have a whole 'inherited will' moment, see a him as a young roger and pull a shanks (investing in the future kind of thing). But I digress.

Because he has pride and dreams, it may make him likable as a character to us, but they don't give him immunity from being evil. He'd be better described as passionate then plain evil, like all D's, or driven. They all have a dream they pursue, its just he's taken a road less travel and much darker.

There's not going to be a definitive answer anytime soon, as the snippets of what we've seen of him has as a much more 3-dimensional nemesis then anyone else thats really been or is against the strawhats, and i think that really is a testament to Oda's writing.

I think you"re all getting it wrong with Blackbeard, he"s a pure hearted pirate and has his own dreams that are bad in the way we look at it, his intentions are only bad if we look at him with Ace"s eyes. But pirates are so that they want to acomplish their own dreams and Blackbeard"s dreams are just something unnfamiliar in the OP world. His character is pure and honest but his intentions and dreams are just slightly on the oposite of Whitebeard"s and Ace"s and that makes him evil to many people.

Thats a fair point, but I'd Still say hes evil no matter hows hes viewed. He killed his Namaka for his own gain and although he has his own dream, from what we've seen, its for power for powers sake. He's more of an ambiguous evil as he's so far been presented as a dark foil of Luffy and shares many of the qualities the main hero of the story has.

I was talking about Raftel and One Piece actually….the WG wants to end the age of piracy, teh age of piracy began when Roger was executed and one piece become up for grabs. So if you take away One Piece then the age of piracy would, in theory, end.

In practice, no. If you were to remove Raftel and One Piece its self, which to start with im guessing is damn hard in its self if getting there is as hard as it appers, then all you have removed is to most pirates something they will never see let alone get for themselves. If there were no one piece, pirates would simply not turn to civilased people eating tea and crumpets, the majority would keep stealing said tea and crumpets (along with with any other richs and killing the owners, burning towns and so on and so on)

I think his point is that you carnt say that Aojki is better then croc in terms of stregnth or abilty or the other way round. As the only Logia fight we have seen (i think) is ace and smoker, it shows its mainly gonna be a draw. In theroy Aojki could rape croc and in theory Croc could rape aojki. The idea of either of them beating the other is quite differnet.

I reakon the shib exist because the world goverment isint sure how easily they could beat them in a fight. And the shib agree because there not sure how easily they could beat them in a fight. I mean your not going throw your best men into a fight your not sure your going to win just to try and pacify one pirate. And the shib arnt going to disagree as they get to keep fighting and looting without any real problems, and there not going to be hunted down by lots of hard assed marines. I see it as more of a stale mate kind thing

I see the Gorosei as the people in overall charge. With there fingers in all the pies as it were, a kind of go between.

I see there emerging a 4th power probaly in the next couple of arcs after EL has finshed, 'Renagede' pirates, Whitebeard and shanks for example (there will probaly be more). Pirates who wont listen to or work with the marines and WG.

On the subject of DBZ, it was all good till the end of the freezia arc. It did get stupid with 2nd and 3nd forms of SS.

After reading this chapter and the posts ive been thinkng and have a few points

1. Sauro can be related to luffy quite easily, it just doesnt have to be in an obvious way, if you think about D. could be like a last name. For example, here in the UK, Wilson (My name :D) is a comman surname and lots of people share it, and altough lots of them wont have met each other, they will be in some distant way related. So it could turn out that Sauro is luffys 35th cousin 3 times removed. Of course, when factoring what Aokji said, it could be very likely that Sauro is Luffy Grandad.

2. Some thing that was aid about blackbeard got me thinking as well. If, in later life, those with giant blood get bigger or they just grow to a bigger osze in genral because of it, the perhaps white beard is in some way related to giants. And im guessing that hummans and giants dont hook up so much, meaning he could be a relation of blackbeards,lufys, aces, etc. After all he could have a simler thing as Gol D Rodger, Edwar D. Newgate? Would explain why whitebeards so hard and could foreshaddow sibbling rivalry sota thing as with ace and Luffy

And here my slighter stupider but still plauseable ldeas (No the prevoius were just farfected):

3. Working on the assumtion that point 2 is right, White beard is accualy Luffys granddad, so we still have the link between Roder and Luffy (Great uncle). THis one came after many people pointed out the simmilates between rodgar and luffy in terms of appernace. Remeber we havent seen whitebeard as a young man yet.

4. Again working on the the orginal points: White bread is accualy Sauro son. This only works if Old white beard is a D. as well. Would explain size and (if point 3 is right) Luffys D.

Take the last 2 as crazy ramblings if you will Dunno why im in such a white beard mood today

The main complait about the anime 'Zolo' is that can be heard pronaced Zoro (I think thats it :D).

I'll just call in 2nd gear, as it just strikes me as making for sense, as when you hit 2nd gear in a car, you knock it up a notch (BAM!) your going faster and therefore with more power, which is what Luffy is assumed to be doing.

I think it is safe to say that Robin wasnt on Roger's crew but could her parents have been on his crew? Or one of her relatives. Considering how much Roger got around and given he undoubtably could read or knew a good deal about the ancient text and whatnot maybe there is a link between Roger or someone on his crew and Robin.

Thats a very plauible idea. It could explain why Rodger could read the pologhrahs whatever you call em things.

Oh and is Robin the sole suviour of the people she is a person of (the ohara i think?)?

Ace, you are on some ways strenghtening what I mean in your post. Just like you said, the WG probably thinks that the Strawhats is about 60 persons (Zanbai said that they were Luffys soldiers), so they will just put bountys on the high ranking ones, the ones who had the control of the attack, so far that is Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Sogeking, Paulie and Zanbai. So those deserves some bounties. And there is still a diffrence in 50-150-200 millions and 500.
Think you and I have probably the same thoughts, I'm just too bad in english, you maybe you mixed up what I meant.

If the WG think the strawhats number around 50ish (FF) then they are gonna pick out the key players and set bountys. If they set bountys of 50+ on the weak members of the crew then the overall bounty of the crew would rise. You would get a Whitebeard situation, with no one daring to attack Luffy or the crew. No bounty hunter or pirate is gonna go after a crew of 50 wutha group of 7 or so people witha 500+ cumlitve bounty. Would just be seen a suicade.

By giving Low bountys to the main of the strawhats, the WG would reconize them as a threat, but only slecting a few as major problems, therefore keeping intrest for bounty hunters.

If little of that made sense, im sorry i have accdently inhaled alot of fumes will doing some cleaning :laugh:
