@eleamaya:
The Godfather (1972), famous mafia movie
An influential family who lead underground world. The Don had three sons (and one daughter):
1st son is killed, 2nd son is too weak, and 3rd son is tactical experience in WW II also well-educated smart as he was being away because he didn't like his father's illegal business. But he come back and shine.
Wonder if Oda use it as his story reference. Sanji didn't fit a prince portrayal since we see a pirate who suits more like Cavendish. Remember his individual design is based on Mr. Pink in movie Reservoir Dogs. And a classy gentleman like Sanji is always sort of term associated to Don, mafia theme. He's even like a knight more than a prince.
I really want Sanji main arc is telling Underground side, especially after Doflamingo's defeat and we have Caesar here. I see someone has mentioned one in his post that one of the Underground people silhouette was probably Don Vinsmoke himself and I agree. In many fictions or perhaps in real world, mafia has political influence to government and the cops; I think it explains enough why Sanji is wanted only alive.
One Piece is really a great universe, we've yet to see samurai/ninja/japanese shogun era theme now we'd get the gangster. I'm so excited.
It would be amazing if it turns out to be a gangster-themed arc, especially with Sanji in the center of action.
@Date_Masamune:
After reading, again it's a misunderstanding, Franky didn't stopped to be called cutty flam because iceburg asked it, he used this name under Tom's workers, after Tom getting jailed by the world government Franky went to stop the umi ressha then got injured but came back years later and wanted to talk to Iceburg but he used cutty flam cause Iceburg was the one knowing the nickname, it's not the other way around.
But people can believe or call Franky whatever they wanna call him in the end.
edit: just to show up the official one piece website and the name is Franky not cutty flam https://one-piece.com/anime/character/characters/franky

Right here Lucci says that no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't find anything about Franky's past. That's because it's not his "official" name.
