I have a note in my phone that says "Tjat Guy woth tje gladdes" that I wrote sometime when I was drunk, and until now I've been wondering what the hell it meant. now I understand! someone must have told me to check it out, I wrote it down and then forgot what I meant by it. but now I know. :)

RE: Talk about your / other people's Avatars!
reading the early pages of this thread isn't very rewarding, because people's explanations don't go very well with their avatars..!
anyways, my avatar is of Dan Ketch from the Marvel graphic novel "Ghost Rider/Wolverine/Punisher: Hearts of Darkness" with art by John Romita Jr.

RE: Good detective or noir shows/movies
I like this thread, I'll definitely check out those french films Palochka recommended.
I've been watching a lot of film noir and mystery thrillers lately for inspiration for the project I'm working on for school, and I can recommend a few films that no one has mentioned. The Third Man from '49 is probably my favorite out of the original noir era, together with the Maltese Falcon that a few others have mentioned, and Out of the Past.
Angel Heart is a terrific neo-noir mystery-thriller from 1987 with Mickey Rourke as a P.I. that I was very impressed with. a lot of mystery and suspense.
Clive Barker's Lord of Illusions from '95 was also pretty good and interesting. "Barker attempted to resurrect the film noir style, while merging it with contemporary horror so as to make a film with a fresh feel to it." I definitely thought he did a good job and it inspired me.
The 1990 adaption of Dick Tracey is a pretty good detective movie with great costume and set, but it was a bit too silly for what I was looking for (not serious and dark enough)I really think it's interesting with newer films (neo-noir) that use the genre in ways that have an old school feel to it but still making it contemporary and mixing it with horror elements. it's what I'm trying to do myself, so I guess that's why it inspires me.
when it comes to tv shows; Twin Peaks is the masterpiece of mystery television. other detective/noir/mystery-type shows worth checking out are Damages, Harper's Island, Day Break, Murder One to just mention a few…
Feel free to keep posting more suggestions, I like this.

RE: Hold The Phone
I have an iPhone and I really like it. I just wish they'd release an external keyboard for it, with a stand for the phone so you could set it up like a small laptop, and I could use the screenwriting application to conveniently do some writing anywhere without having to bring my laptop, which requires you to have to carry a bag and actually plan to use it.
I don't think I could do any serious writing on the iPhone with the touch pad keyboard.. -
RE: Drug Experiences
I like alcohol. I just made 20L wine, it's pretty good, but I don't like wine.. I love mixing drinks. here in Sweden alcohol is expensive which sucks, I really miss the prices from when I lived in Canada, and I understand that Canada isn't even very cheap. on the day after tomorrow, I'm going on a cruise to Latvia for the purpose of buying lots of cheap liquor! :D
I have no need for drugs other than that. -

RE: The latest filler in the Anime
I think these fillers are terrible. I heard someone mentioning that an anime adaption of chapter 0 is coming though, anyone know when that is gonna be? because that chapter was awesome, set us up for the movie in a perfectly and just gave us SO much awesome stuff. I was hoping this filler arc would be kinda like that, but they're really nothing like that at all. completely irrelevant.

RE: Chapter 553 "Battle of the Highest" Discussion
this is so incredibly cool. I've loved Marco and Jozu for quite some time now and seeing them in action is such a good feeling. seeing all these VA's lined up too… wow. the guy with the striped suit and mustache that we've seen a few times before, we don't know his name do we?
I actually REALLY like the character designs for the NW captains. in my eyes, Oda is god of character design.
it would be cool if Hawkeye fights Jozu and ends up cutting him to pieces.I'd love to see Shuu - the marine captain with the rust fruit - appear and do some major damage to some metal-based guy. if the WG needed to get rid of Kuma since he might be a traitor, Shuu would be the best assassin for the job. that would be so epic and shocking, I'd love it.
can't wait to see what happens next. let the mayhem begin!
