RE: No Rock 'n Roll thread? Not for long!
I'm not into Quite Riot, but they're tolerable.
Anyone here planning to go see the Led Zep concert? I'm in the draw…

@pirateneko:
Yeah, Aerosmith was either really meh or really awesome like you said… They have a good number of amazing songs that are just timeless.
I wasn't a big fan of Ozzy's later stuff, but I do like Zakk Wylde himself, he is like a modern-day hardcore Viking! He's fucking insane! O_O
As for metal... I like a few bands, some old some new,
Iced Earth - they're what I like to call Medieval Metal, because of what they sing about I guess and it seems appropriate for them. Horrorshow was an AWESOME CD! Since I love horror films in general, this is just great to listen to.
Dimmu Borgir - I think I like one of their CD's, I can't remember which one, since it was part of a mix someone made. They're pretty awesome though
Lamb of God - For new metal, they are quite awesome. I like how some of their songs have those strange guitar riffs like in 'Laid To Rest'
Killswitch Engage - Yeah, they're a little depressing, but I love their music! My favorite songs of theirs have to be 'My Curse', 'Rose of Sharyn' and 'End of Heartache'
Bleeding Through - Just... pure noisy bliss XD Plus their album covers are amazing XD
I could think of more, but maybe later...
Zakk Wylde is pretty intense. He could probably bite someones head off.
Also, although I'm not a fan, I'll end up seeing Lamb of God with headliners Heaven and Hell.
As for metalcore , not really a fan. But each to his/her own.

Dear god yes, we needed a thread like this w>_ <w
older rock and metal is just so much more brilliantly made… Like Metallica was fucking badass in the 80's, and they just kinda went blah during the 90's.... I do like their new bassist, but that last album St. Anger was not that great....
Yeah, gotta love good ol' bands like AC/DC! Or hell, I love Guns n' Roses, even though Axel Rose is a prick.
I also love Aerosmith, they're just so classic and have been around forever it seems XD
Black Sabbath... yeah, I love their old stuff.
Ozzy with Randy Rhodes...dear god EPIC stuff!
Ozzy with Zakk Wylde... he is a madman and I'd freaking die to see him live (my sister has, I am highly jealous!)And I think we should discuss all things metal as well in here XD</w
Hey, I'm up for the metal discussion. I'm not as much of a fan, but I love Iron Maiden, Metallica and Megadeth!
Aerosmith were great, but I think they're not doing that well anymore… Just Push Play was pretty ordanairy. But when they were great, my god...
Rocks
Toys in The AtticI mean, those albums were so good! Everyone used to call 'em a poor mans Stones but with these albums they could easily compete head to head with them.
About Ozzy... Didn't really like Black Rain. Not that exciting for me. However, he certainly has had some good ones, Blizzard of Ozz and No More Tears to name two...
@Mr.:
I really liked Dark Side of the Moon, but couldn't quite get why everyone thought it was such a godly magnificent album.
Joe's Garage is much, much better. Than everything. Ever.
Yeah, I agree. I think it's definitely overrated, but it's still great.

RE: No Rock 'n Roll thread? Not for long!
Why has ACDC not been mentioned yet? They make awesome everywhere. Oh, man. Back in Black, ohhhh, fuck yes.
Pink Floyd is wicked as hell. I still lie in my bed at night, falling asleep to Dark Side of the Moon. The second track of that, I believe, On the Run, will trip you so hard while you're lying in the dark. Feel like you're almost flying.
Zeppelin, oh man, don't get me started. Almost every song they strum out is epic. Fuck, I'm listening to Stairway to Heaven as we speak. Led Zeppelin 4, oh hell yes.
I probably should have mentioned AC/DC earlier as my Dad also has a bunch of their LP's, with the original Australian covers (which aren't as cool, but hey, I didn't even know they existed). The problem with AC/DC though is that they essentially released the same sounding songs over and over, so all you need from the band is a Greatest Hits, which oddly doesn't exist. In other words, you need Highway to Hell and Back in Black, and that'll do just fine.
(That's not to say the other albums aren't good, it's just that if two things sound the same, you go for the better sounding ones.)
Also got the Dark Side of The Moon LP and The Wall. I haven't really been able to get into Pink Floyd though, hoping a few more listens until I'm "enlightened", so to speak.
Zeppelin were epic, I have two copies of Zoso (Led Zep IV), fantastic album. I'd take Led Zeppelin and Led Zeppelin II over it though.
Wow, I forgot to put down what I like to listen to. >_< Anyway, I've only been to two concerts where the performers are bands I like, those being the Steve Miller Band and the Rolling Stones. The Steve Miller Band is great, great lyrics and they do some pretty nifty stuff to make their instrumentals interesting, and the Stones are the Stones. So they automatically win. AC/DC was my first band, TNT being the first song I really enjoyed to the extent of thinking "Who's that singing?". Styx came second, and they're probably my favorite band, simply because their music sounds so silly, but it's really cool. Ozzy and Black Sabbath came in later, simply because I enjoyed Iron Man so much. Guns N' Roses is pretty cool, it's a band that pretty much every one of my friends like. Queen is my latest musical obsession, I heard "Don't Stop me now" and became addicted to Queen.
I also listen to some J-Rock, like L'Arc~en~Ciel and Bump of Chicken. That's sort of off topic though, but still rock.
Hey, Gun's N Roses are pretty awesome! Definitely a big fan, certainly one of the last great hard rock bands (not that many around today…)
I'm also a huge fan of Queen (3rd favourite band, actually, I think!). Don't Stop Me Now is great but they play it all the time on UK radio! I'd rather them play Bicycle Race, that's a great song but I don't think many people know of it (Excluding big rock/Queen fans, of course). And Now I'm Here, what a great song! Stone Cold Crazy also should get more radio play, as well as Seaside Rendezvous! I better stop now before I just keep naming Queen songs...
Anyone here heard of Budgie? Fantastic rock band that nearly no one knows about. Very much in the style of Led Zeppelin.

RE: Post how your day was
I work up early because there was a chance Bioshock would arrive today.
It didn't.
What a pain.

RE: No Rock 'n Roll thread? Not for long!
Cheers, thanks. I might check to see if my Dad has a copy before I torrent/buy it…
(PS: Every album I torrent I buy... I support the industry. Unless the album ends up bad. Then I usually delete it and refrain from purchasing it.

RE: The Official Funimation One Piece Thread (Airs Sept. 29!) Read First Post
Everyone now is saying they think the new dub will be great, but I bet as soon as it airs the forums will be full of complaints… Oh well.
