Uh… Then what's the use in posting here?
Anyway, that's actually just what I love about Death Note. The main character is the ''bad guy'' so to speak, and it provides really fascinating storytelling. Because even though I don't agree with Light's motives in the slightest, I still find myself actually rooting the guy on for some reason.
Though, that situation has slightly changed, since the gloominess and negativity that is Kira's judgement is really more empathized now that L is dead. Before it was just Light trying to win. I don't think I ever expected this to happen.
And yeah, I'm in denial too. It just feel so unnatural and empty now that L is supposedly dead. It was too sudden and anticlimactic for my senses. I already miss the guy.... Neah looks cool and all, but he's no Ryuuzaki. And I refuse to believe L didn't have something up his sleeve all that time.
This chapter really builds things up in a fascinating way, though. First I thought Neah and Mero were on the same road together, seeing them getting summoned by Roger while still completely shrouded in mystery. Now Mero turns out to be a twisted sicko, much different from L or Light, while Neah got the good guy role. It makes me really anxious to know where they came from and how all of this came to be, and how Roger is connected to them and L, and L to them consequently. This chapter leaves a whole lot of questions.
As of now, I find Mero much more of an interesting character than Neah. I'm actually rooting for Neah here, and I want him to be the one who succeeds, especially seeing as how he's supposed to be L's successor. However, he seems just a tad too two-dimensional right now.
I'm anxious for the next chapter, but I'm also anxious for some sort of revelation.
