The Amiga was (when introduced) probably the first "multimedia" computer. It had sophisticated (for 1985) sound and graphics, and a GUI environment. Commodore proved virtually incapable of marketing it, so it languished and died. The rights get resold every few years and people get excited for ten minute stretches. It came in many models… the original one being a flat small desktop, then both larger desktops and a few rare towers, and a small "system built into the keyboard" designs.

The Sinclair Spectrum was a cheap Z80-based home computer, widely sold and cloned virtually everywhere but North America. The only machine which could possibly compete with the Commodore 64 for "most units sold" title.
