The good thing about Chopper's char development is we won't have to deal with "his family" since they are reindeer.
Chapter 439 "Third One and Seventh One" Discussion

… Zoro is more mature than Sanji and thinks about something a lot more... You always could see this in his speech ... Sanji is for me cares a lot of to be the object of jokes... He is really pissed of when Zoro makes his jokes, Opponents make fun of him or like in SkyPia Luffy imitated him... Zoro doesn't let him provocates as fast as Sanji... See Mr. 1 fight... Sanji is always the first one who gets angry when they both has their personal fight
I agree with you in part about several of these things – this is why I used words like "generally" and "seems" and "usually" (to indicate that my observations about Zoro and Sanji aren't always true, but are often true).
You're right : Zoro is very serious when he fights. In fact, that's probably when he is the most serious – and his fight with Mr. 1 was the most serious of all his fights. It's among my favorite fights for that reason -- because we get a rare view into Zoro's thought-process to see how he mentally overcomes his limitations as well as physically overcoming them. Yet when Zoro isn't fighting, he can be unintentionally silly -- and the silliness can occur just seconds after the seriousness.
You are right -- there are many times when Zoro is calm, careful and mature : for instance when he invented the hidden 'symbol of friendship' (the "x" on the arm) in Alabasta, to ensure that the Mugiwara would be safe from 2-Bon's imitations. But -- look what happens just a minute later : Sanji teases him by saying that the real Zoro could never have invented such a thoughtful plan, so maybe this guy is actually the okama in disguise! Sanji's joke makes Zoro so angry that that in an instant Zoro has reverted from mature adult to yelling monster.
To make things worse -- it's only when the Mugiwara see Zoro so angry that they're certain he's really Zoro, and not the okama in disguise. So even though Zoro was thoughtful and mature just a minute earlier, his crew -- and therefore many readers, too --associate bad temper/anger with Zoro instead of thoughtulness/maturity.
Another good example is in Rocketman where Chopper reminds Zoro about geting stuck in the chimney. Zoro had calmly faced Acqua Laguna just a few minutes earlier, and expressed some concern about Sanji over the den-den-mushi, but here he is, one minute later, in an embarrassed rage, strangling Choppy! -- even though Choppy was the crew-mate who'd saved his life by helping him escape from the chimney!
So I agree with you that Zoro can be a very mature person, as can each of the others -- but that this maturity alternates with moments of stupidity and rage. No character is a genius the entire time. Not Zoro, not Sanji, not anyone ... If they were, they'd be boring. Why? Because no human is a genius all the time either. And if any of us were, we'd be boring too. :)

Yeah, this manga is more like "whine whine, throw hissy fit, cry, drool, more whining and accomplishing nothing, back to square one". CHARACTER DVELOPMENTS
No, it's more like "Oh fuck, I got pwned! I know, I'll be superuberhero! Oh fuck, that didn't work either! I know, I'll do what I'm supposed to do!" I already wrote all of this in the Usopp thread, since people always think Usopp hasn't changed at all.

Well, a lot of them don't really "go superhero" they just use the skills they've always been using. But slightly more. Enies Lobby's the only time most of them improve their skills.

If anyone thinks the 'upgrades' found throughout One Piece make more sense than pulling a power out of their ass that they didn't have 5 minutes ago and tagging a number onto the end of said upgrade, I'd love to hear a justification.
Make no mistake, OP is a young boy's action/adventure comic. As such it's going to have power-up elements and such. But in a fantasy world, if you've seen anyone pull it off better than Oda, I'd love to hear it.
No seriously, I would. I'd be interested in reading something like that.

I was talking about Usopp. He said himself (as Sogeking) that he was a superhero.
