There's an ice hockey manga that was never made into an anime. Although, it started out as a comedy ice hockey manga and eventually became a comedy penis joke manga. Ike!! Nangoku Ice Hockey-bu by Kohji Kumeta.

I think the reason you'll find little to no ice hockey manga/anime is because it just isn't popular over in Japan. Football isn't HUGE but there are leagues and such, hockey is pretty much nonexistant there me thinks

Oh I thought Ice Hockey was rather big in Japan considering other nations, so that's why I thought there was chance to find Ice Hockey animes.
Because Japan is kind of good at Ice Hockey, well they have been in World Cup and other competitions atleast, okay maybe it didn't go very well with the self-goal and all but they are ranked just below the regulare top nations who usually participate in the tournaments, I think atleast, might be wrong though.

Oh and there are lots of Ice Hockey games for the old Nintendo 8-bit console and the others
