Well, I was reading through the Skypiea arc again the other day, as you do, when I came across the page where Eneru-sama turns into Amal Eneru.
Now, here's my thought:
What if all Logia-users have the ability to turn into godlike forms of their elements, but we just didn't see it?
I was thinking Crocodile could turn into some sort of Shukaku-esque beast, or something….

But then, how would it work for someone like Smoker?

Then he could get a job teaching kids the dangers of smoking.
Personally, I could see a pure form of each Logia, and it would be a way that they wouldn't be able to hurt each other. For example, Kuzan in his pure form wouldn't be as susceptible to Enel's lightning as you think, because pure water is actually a poor conductor.
I called it wrong, so long ago. I guess this needs to be changed.
However, if they had to resort to such a form, then they may end up like Enel did–big and vulnerable.
Here's an idea, could the logia users "crete" this super form without using their bodies?

Too late for that. Shanks already has his "spirit aura" thing going on. And Zoro can shoot energy projectiles. But I doubt the series end up like DBZ (godly series). Energy attacks wont go that far.

No, I mean, like, making a big "element" monster without using their body for a base like Enel did. The element would still come from the user.
Cause, becoming a big element monster like that would open you up to more hits, and there's really no reason to use it. If the enemy can't hit you, just zap them. If they can, you're making yourself a big target.
yeah i guess it's possible for them to do that with their energy… kinda like Ace doing Sogeking's attack that is shaped like a phoenix...
yeah Shank's spirit is so powerful and it almost enter the DBZ range... Shanks might have a huge amount of douriki that even his spirit is so powerful... hope one guy in One Piece dont destroy the World
