Left behind - none.
Taken - Johny n Yosaku,Gin,erm..Kaku,Bon Clay,Wiper,Kamakiri,Laki,and Paulie.I mean come one,to become a great pirate,one need to have a powerful fleet and by that it mean more than 9 crewmates.

Since Vivi wouldn't join anyway, I'd take Bon Clay along for the ride. He'd be a rad spy.

Taken is kindof a difficult thing to say when you don't know who would have come with them. For example, Vivi choose not to join, but Luffy told to continue having fun with them.

All the people I chose to take with me (w/ exception of Laboon) are people that would never have come with the Strawhats, or just couldn't.

Johnny and Yosaku were, to me, a weakness. They kind of helped in the Arlong Arc, but other than that, they kind of struck me as Zoro wannabes. I mean, they kind of got annoying when Luffy fought Arlong, when they kept arguing like little children. They couldn't hav survived Enies Lobby unless they got really lucky, like Usopp.
Anyway, I might of taken Bon Clay. He was really powerful; almost Sanji's equal, in fact. I really hated him at the start of Arabasta, but he started to grow on me by the end. He generally seemed to fight towards what was best and the right thing to do, and I thought that made him a great warrior, despite his major creepiness.
I wouldn't have taken Gin because he wouldn't have accepted. He wanted to stay with Don Krieg and retry the Grand Line. He had his mind set, as he said, so he would've declined.
And I wouldn'e taken Wiper. I'm only halfway into Skypiea, but I can tell he's very resourceful, and can also be as strong up to as Luffy's equal. The only problem is he never smiles or shows anything slightly positive. We'd need to work on that.
And I would've taken everyone in the crew. The only difference being I would invite Chopper as a docter, and not as a 7th level transformation: Cool Reindeer and/or Emergency Food Supply.

First at all, I would not leave my island, I would BRING IT with me!! XDD Let's "sail" everyone, to the grand line!!!!!! exploding the base of the island, putting a hell of masts and draw a flag It would be really funnny^^
Gaimon would of course be together with all the strange animals, gin(doesn't matter if he don't want to come he IS GOING TO), Arlong cause I would show how wrong he was and try to convince him to see how humans can be great if they have dreams, his crew too if they would want too…, hmmmm errrr.... I think just everybody who apeared in one piece, every single one > yeah, the floating-sailing-island is huge enough, so it's okay... XDDD

Apis: Luffy and Apis were the best comedy duo in Skypeia. Every one of their moments together had me cracking up.
Cricket: His Karate was pretty decent. He pretty much owned Sarquiss. Plus Sanji could eat the chestnut off his head and make it look normal.
Goldenweek: Magical Paint Powers + Laziness = Win
Pell: Perfect Scout. Tori Devil fruit + Fighting ability = Win
Peeply Lulu: It would be hilarious if weird stuff happened when he shoved in his cowlick, like it came out Chopper's navel or Sanji's eyebrow.
Yokozuna: Giant Sumo Wrestling Frog ftw.

I'm very happy with the way things turned out, but characters I'd like to see as Mugiwara are Carue, Wiper, and Kaku.

I'm not sure if this is supposed to be an "If you were the captain" deal or just an "If you could change the story" deal. In the case of the former, to be totally honest, I'd have probably ditched Robin and Nami in fear that they would have some kind of crazy Fujiko complex going.
As for who I'd take additionally? I have no idea.

Drop Franky, take Lucci and Hattori-SAMA, Kumadori (the crew needs a POET! No musician!), and Califa (providing the fanservice role vacated by Nami)I can imagine Mr. 1, Zoro, and Lucci, all hypnotized into not feeling pain, tearing each other to pieces for training and to prove who's the biggest badass on the crew. The undercard is Sanji v. Kuroobi v. Miss Monday (Sanji having been told she's a crosssdresser)

I would take Bon Clay to be the musician of the crew (no matter how horrible he is to music XD). About the carpenter, I would pick Kaku or Paulie. And Porche would join as a cheerleader.
