seriously, couldn't Pirate A just walk up to anyone and say THIS is One Piece? no one knows what it looks like after all?
How will they know? how will anyone know?
-
-
well if he/she does have some proof of being on Raftel then of course she/she could claim that.
Otherwise hell no -
I suppose the 'One Piece' is something that can turn its 'owner' the most powerful person in the world. It's not something I can just show and claim "THIS IS ONE PIECE".
-
well, they would have to be quite popular. they couldnt just still be in East Blue and one day yell out, I HAVE ONE PIECE! Besides, people would think it's treasure(gold and stuff)

Exactly. Even the world-famous citizens of Roguetown didn't buy Luffy's words. Heck, they laughed. Pirate A would get pwned.

…Uhhh... yeah... No.
One Piece is all of Gold Roger's treasure, and he left it in "that place", and you have to follow the ponyglyphs to get there (if that translation is right)… so I'm pretty dang sure you'll know it when you see it!
It has to be worthy of the Pirate King.
-
That's an assumption, Wolfpox. For all we know, One Piece could be a dump that Roger was really, really proud of.
Roger's Dad: Look, son! You went in the toilet all by yourself:
Toddler Roger: Yes! From now on, this will be my most valued treasure! I'll call it One Piece.
Seriously, though, it's probably his logbook. Saber's right, some guy could randomly claim that they found One Piece, but without the fame, something to prove you've been to Raftel, and without the respect of every other pirate, no one would buy it.

LOL
One Piece of Shit!!!… neways, maybe ppol in One Piece sees it as a big treasure and when u say... this is one piece and it's just a rock or something... they will probably say no way even though they don't know what One Piece really is...

Ha ha ha… yeah right! Can you really use the word "probably" here? If you want to talk about actual "probabilities", there is nothing to suggest it's a logbook. Take a look at this...
Or THIS
Now talk about what's "probable". There is a very LOW probability (although it is possible) that One Piece is NOT hordes of treasure + a bunch of other awesome stuff.
Now on a related note, here's my theory. One Piece includes…
1. The most precious, valuable artifacts in the entire world (treasure)
2. The Ancient History ponyglyph(s)
3. All Blue
4. A cure for all diseases
5. Oro Jackson
6. A map of the entire world
7. Roger's logbook
8. Much more...Just a theory.
-
I always imagined that when one acquired the 'One Piece' that there would either be the Final Fantasy victory fanfare or the item acquiring noise from Zelda.

Go read Volume 6 again. Or when Cricket read Norland's logbook. A logbook is an important thing to a pirate. It contains their journey, their time with their fellow comrades, what they learned along the way. It's One Piece of their memories, One Piece of their journey. It could have the true history, it could simply be Roger's thoughts.
A person's memories are their most valuable treasure in life. It's the one thing they can take with them, in a sense. Gold, assests, treasure, ships, nakama… you can't take any of that with you to the grave, can you? Well, you can, but it just sits and rots with your corpse. The only thing that you can really take with you is the memories of the time you had together, the journey, what you learned... so on and so forth.
Ever since Zeff mentioned that his logbook was his treasure, I've always thought that Roger thought the same way Zeff did.
-
This all comes back to the "Rio Poneglyph = One Piece" thing.
The Government knows damn well what the One Piece is. -

One Piece would probably something very valuable that's sitting on a shitload of gold and treasure. I can't imagine One Piece as a simple notebook/logbook on a cave or something. There has to be, at least, some sort of physical treasure (gold, etc…) before the actual treasure to have that "pirate"-y feel to it.

Hahah, that's wrong.

@Private:

No, what I meant was not the gold as THE actual One Piece. Rather, for example…if it was indeed the Rio Poneglyph, I'd like if it was surrounded by lots of treasure...get it?
-
**I think One Piece may be the old kingdom. Or rio ponyglyph. or both.
But if it's the old kingdom, then it would be "everything in the world", in a sense.**
-
Why are some people opposed to the idea of there being SOME actual treasure there? Is it wrong for the King of the Pirates to finally end up with shitloads of money? They all enjoy gold and money, after all. Luffy has to go back and pay Makino with the treasure he got, after all.
Anyway, I'm not saying money is One Piece either. I think it's everything you've ever wanted and more. A pirate's heaven, if you will.

Thanks for trying to clarify what I wanted to say. Hehehe..

Because that would suck as an ending.
They get money or find some cool paradise the end. -
Because that would suck as an ending.
They get money or find some cool paradise the end. What? What's hard to understand? All that I'm saying is there maybe SOME treasure included in some paradise sort of island, but that's NOT One Piece. Something deeper, maybe…something that holds more value than all the gold or treasure in the world (at least, in relation to Luffy).
I'd commit genocide if it was friendship or any other gay shit though.
-
Zephos are you retarded or did you just not read my own theory earlier in the thread?
My theory is that the Ancient History will be there, and so will Roger's logbook, and so will tons of gold, and so will many other awesome things. You know… something for everybody. Go back and read it if you want to talk about my ideas.
-
You weren't preenting it in that fashion. In all regards nobody has shot down the idea of ANYTHING being around the One Piece, so your post would have seemed weird if not sticking up for that being the One Piece.
-
-
I'm prone to misunderstandings anyway, even in real life. Sorry for not presenting it better than. But yes, my theory is that there will be a lot of important things there, together, from treasure to artifacts to who knows what.
-
If the guy didn't have any scars, huge muscles and a horde of followers it would be kinda hard. I know, I know, Luffy doesn't fit that.
People aren't stupid, you know. It would have to be the bestest thing ever.
