Well first off why wouldn't it?
Roger = Scholar of Poneglyphs trying to make the Rio.
Its his goal.
I understand the Rio and One Piece bein side by side, but its pretty much confirmed that it does have something to do with it.

I don't really think the One Piece is "friendship".
If it was like this, I would be rather disappointed because the SH would already be in possession of it.
Personally I would say it is something material and not just a sheat of paper or something. If it was the Rio Poneglyph, it would explain really much but I think it's even more than this. Although it is the most valuable possibility you could think of up to now.

I think I'll just wait for it.
