I don't think they're looking to play a game of catch up, they sub at their own pace and they seem to be content with doing that, which I'm totally respectful of.

I respect them also. But if you going to work at your own pace (and that is ok), then I don't think you should ask for money (PayPal) .

I'd rather they always stay a certain amount behind because that allows them to keep giving us the ultra high quality dvd rips.

Anyways… it's totally optional, it's not like they're threating to cease subbing unless you donate.

I don't care if K-F ever catches up to the episodes. They aren't the kind of fansubbers that try to sub as fast as humanly possible. They're the kind that wants to put out correct translations along with great quality.

Maybe they should make it more obvious then, because I wouldn't mind sending them a donation. Now that I'm actually looking for it, I see it right on the page, but I guess the less-observant people like me need giant flashing neon signs most of the time.

Well, that's the thing. They are hardly holding the fans to ransom here and promoting the hell out of donating. I barely noticed it myself, but yeh.. I'd say the money they do get, would go more to server/bandwidth costs on their site and forums, then it would to the actual subbers.

Well, time is money. Just the time and effort alone that they put into making the subs is respectable. Which is why it ticks me off when I see some people in other forums bashing K-F just because they put their name in the opening credits.

I would love to donate if it would speed the releases up.

You do realize that they didn't even START subbing the episodes until the series had been around for a while? I think there was already over 100 episodes when they started.

If I had money, as well along with everyone else, I would donate. I really don't care if it takes them longer or faster to sub them, but they do it with excellent quality so that the fans can get a good indepth understanding of whats going on. They're not like other fansubs that rush things like hell and turn out completely wrong with translations and attacks.
Plus, it's good how they're using the dvd rips instead of just taking it from the Tv. Makes the thrill of watching it much much better

I admit that I'm really anticipating seeing SkyPiea and the Davy Back Fight arc but I don't mind waiting for them to get that far. I'll take good quality translations over sketchy sloppy ones any day.
Besides if you really wanted too you could watch the raw and that would be momentarily satisfying in itself even if you don't know what the heck's going on.

Well, you can have both now. You own the HK-subs, which is it done fast, and you can have the KF subs, which is it done right.

It also virtually guarantees that there aren't any mistakes in the romanization of the names. Notice how everyone got Cutty Flam wrong in the manga before we saw it written out in english.

[snapback]30169[/snapback]That's quite difficult to say. Although the t/l is done or half done, they may have some problems with the encoding, karaoke, timing etc. or something like that. A fansub group isn't just one person. And each one of them have their own lives (i think) and are aviliable at different times.

[snapback]30169[/snapback]They're not getting paid to do this.. this is a hobby for them. They do it because they enjoy it. You start imposing things like that, and you turn their hobby into a job. Unless you plan to start paying them an hourly wage… just appreciate the hard work and effort that goes into it. You have the HK subs, so you already know what the rushed product looks like.
