Yeah, Usopp has all the tools to hurt him, but not badly hurt him. On the other hand, it would be fitting in the sense that Usopp was the only one too scared to attack him on Long ring isle. Still, unlikely with Aokiji's experience.
If not Luffy, then I think he will most likely be defeated by some outside source, like a shichibukai, yonkou, or a conflicting admiral (akainu?) in the arc. Or maybe Dragon. Then, like Vegeta, Luffy beats this person and gets an indirect victory over Aokiji, yet perhaps never a direct victory over him.

As much as i hate it your probably right luffy always gets the main villains. If blackbeard beats ace, we know logias can be defeated with other techniques, I'd think zoro might learn a technique too later on

No, not choking him, if fire runs out of oxygen to feed off of, it dies out. Water puts fire out because it's liquid so it can move around it, and it's generally colder than fire(unless boiling) which cools downwfire slightly, and also covering it to remove oxygen.
Since I doubt people in One Piece have Lithium Ion CObalt batteries, or a way to hold air in a pocket for emergencies that is airtight, Ace simply need to turn into fire and run out of oxygen.
Aokiji, like Crocodile with Sand, will likely be stuck in normal, human form if he gets hit with something warm enough to stop him from becoming too cold. He can then be fought without his DF powers.
Or Kairoseki, which entirely drains the strength out of DF users.
Also remembe,r Logia are not always their elements, they have to FORCE parts of their body to change into their element.

Speaking of having a light on you, Sanji's got a lighter and we've already witnessed Zoro's face getting set on fire (see "Cabaji" link) and being relatively unphased by it. Do I see a potential team-up here?

Fire and Ice are equal, I thunk, depends on the amount and heat of the fire.
Maybe it would require a tem effort to beat them. Zoro blocks all the sharp ice, Sanji smashes ice, Usopp can rape ice from far away, Luffy can also smash ice as well as get all steamy, Nami can control weather.
Too much possibility's. Though tongue-man could lick him like a popsicle. I really, really want Tongue-man.

Actually, most logia types have obvious weaknesses. What do you people think the luffy vs enel fight was. Luffy was only able to defeat him because he was rubber but enel had enough power to destroy whole islands. If it were really power versus power luffy would have been toast.
