Actually NO, that was not a shop, that WAS in the original episode. However, I think it was changed for the DVD releases, as were quite a few of the scenes. Damnitall cheap animation only to be redone for the DVD. The main reason it's redone is because they don't have very much time to produce an entire episode, seeing as they are required to release one per week.

It's not nearly as bad as that one, but it still made me laugh.Speaking of headless Naruto, it's one of the strangest animation errors I can remember seeing. The screen is from a stock footage flashback of an earlier part of the episode where he does have his head for the whole thing, and it only dissapears for one frame in the flashback.

On the left you have pictures of the fansubbed version of this episode while on the right you have pictures of the DVD (American) version of this episode

Infusion was subbing dvd or tv rips?
Maybe the original japanese dvd got that not so unusual retouching while the american release received the tv untouched version.…but damn, that's almost a different episode.

Some of those naruto screencaps come from the better animated episodes in the whole series. Its really unfair to just pick a screencap that lasts for 1/24th of a second and post it calling it QUALITY. If you want to have really fluid animation there are bound to be some weird looking in-between frames
