Okay, just something i just thought off, was gold rogers known as the pirate king while he was alive or was this a title given to him AFTER he was killed, almost a marytr title, if it was something after his death does this mean that luffy may also need to give up his life in order to fulfill his dreams?
To my knowledge it has never stated when he was known as this or even why, given nobody knows what one piece is even why would they decide he was worthy of being pirate king, you can't put it down to strength as whitebeard was his rival, course there may be numerous reasons but anyone have anything solid to why he was known as the pirate king
