Umm the english releases of Yakuzas 3 and 4 are very good and well transitioned from the JP ver.
Granted there are some stuff they couldn't translate (like one of the arcade games), but the games overall are a fantastic, manly experience.
I know, I have played them… The ones I want are those which aren't translated into english... Ryu ga Gotoko Kenzan and ryu ga gotoko of the end. And the PSP game too.

Not only cause they'd be fools not to release the most Western appealing entry in the series yet, but a SEGA producer let it slip in an interview some months back that it's a working title for the West. He also said Kenzan is still very much a possibility, it just depends. Black Panther tho, with the low sales the PSP gets in the West coupled with the Vita coming out, we probably won't get it.

I don't think Kenzan would get an Eng release, but one can hope. However, I've heard that the combat in 3 and 4 are a lot better than in Kenzan.

From what I've heard, Forever is pretty short, but not bad. If you liked the playstyle of the original games you may like this one.
Dunno about online multiplayer tho, but with these types of games, it's the multiplayer that gives the games their replayablility (sp)

They've kind of rushed it a little without breaking the boundaries. The only thing keeping this afloat is the hoard of fans and people that just want ridiculous action. Saying that the money generated from this game will probably be put towards the next one, which I'd guess has the potential to shit on most other rivals at the time in terms of revenue.

Given how long ago Kenzan came out I pretty much have given up all hope of it ever being localized.

A year to translate and release games as massive as the Yakuza games is incredibly impressive if you ask me. Any less time and they'd have to leave huge chunks of Japanese text all about. Also, when last questioned about it SEGA of America said the sales of Yakuza 3 and 4 have been positive. A far cry from Yakuza 1 and 2's sales where they were basically saying they would be throwing money away if they brought anymore over.

I was told the original people in charge took so long trying to make it that the whole thing was handed over to another group all together. And from what I've gathered so far they didn't have much to work on from the material at hand. Not just that but the stuff that was put together was dated and uninspiring compared to the games and progression that had happened over a ten year period. Which means they would have probably started from scratch, but stolen ideas here and there in regards to the Duke himself.
Now if you take all of that into account you get an idea just how little time has been spent on making this. Its a shame it had to come back under these circumstances.

It was for launch PS3's, the ones which had PS2 compatibility. It was so people could play the very very VERY few PS2 games that required a hard drive, such as Final Fantasy XI.

Yeah, all of the digital PSP games will work on Vita.
A Sony rep also said in a recent Vita Q&A that they're "considering what to do about UMD support" on the Vita. So despite how little, there seems to be a chance we'll be able to do something with the UMDs.

Found out my Final Fantasy IX Disc 2 doesn't work. So instead of hunting down the game I thought I'd just download the PSN one. £7.99 later I booted it up and loaded my save…

Well, the downloadable PSP and PS1 games are playable on the PSP or PS3, so I imagine that would carry over to the Vita. (PS2 games however have emulation problems) And the Vita supposedly has PS3 specs, so it might be able to run PS3 games, but I don't know if its anything official yet on that.
I still haven't gotten the free games. I want to download the games I am apparently entitled to, but my PSP won't accept my old password, and when I try to go to the sony website to change it, (the adress my psp gives me when I try to go to the store) that always seems to be down.
Bastards.

Sounds like you're saved at the transition scene between disks, and I can see that being a thing they wouldn't really have a solution too, since 99.99% of the time you're going to be ON one disk or another, rather than the inbetween. Do you have a file saved slightly before the end of disk 1?
I finally got fed up of carting around my psp games and put some CFW on my PSP, and ripped a few games to the memory card. Will help me travel lighter to work, and hopefully the battery life will improve now that it's not spinning a disc.
The best thing is that Ys Ark of Napishtim is finally playable.

Since I'm on a 3000, I can't install permanent firmware. Tried both TN-HEN and VF's pro-b6, got loads of freezes on TN, but pro-b6 has been working nicely. I don't know if any of these are the ones that people have complained of bricking their systems in the past since I was so fed up I didn't even care if it happened, so use at your own risk.
Some Pro-B6 downloads come with some sort of "Permanent" version that auto loads the cfw each time too, I never tried this since there were complaints in the comments that suggested it might be dangerous, and it's not exactly necessary. I don't think wolo's had this anyway.
Now that the don't-blame-me's are out of the way, happy to help if there's anything in the guide that you're not sure on.
For the actual ripping there's an application called iso_tool - you'll want to put the "iso_tool" folder that is in \iso_tool_cfw\PSP\GAME\ of the zipped file in the OP of that thread into \PSP\GAME on your psp once the cfw's done. Like the cfw itself, it boots from game->memory card on the XMB - but only while cfw is enabled. You'll find games you've ripped will turn up in \ISO
I barely play on my PSP so I've decided if/when I get a Vita, I'll probably hack my PSP. Hopefully get some use out of it and not brick it.

Can play any game and has dynamic themes.

That's what I did lol. I thought it was the perfect time to finish for the night.
Although I found you can select which disc you want to play before you start the game and also by pressing the PS button brings up a menu saying 'Play Disc' as an option to change. I thought it woulda just continued on with the download version.
I actually played the PS1 Lilo & Stitch game due to it being on PS+, it's actually not bad. It's a carbon copy of Crash Bandicoot, and that's probably why it's not bad. But yeah, PS+ has been pretty dreadful. I got it back in March for a year via a gameshare and there's been next to nothing. It saddens me to know that they did have some good items and games there previously, but alas they take them down after a month.

June 28th will be the release of the Uncharted 3 Beta. If you have PSN+ you can get and keep it after ur PSN+ expires. Otherwise, you'll need a code to access the Beta or just wait til a week or 2 to play it.
EDIT: Almost done with Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll. Will defeat the Dragon King then enter the final dungeon. I'll see if I can get at least 2 more trophies when I finish the game but grinding for them is gonna be a bore.

I'm apparently a Luddite and I'm already there. Motion controls and touch pads do nothing for me, they're all just so… gimmicky. Maybe if I saw actual innovation or new kinds of gameplay coming out of these things, or if the controls were BETTER for it, it'd be one thing. But, loose and unresponsive motion controls for the big systems that can't interpret your broad strokes movements into fine control... Out of every game I own on the DS, World Ends With You is SITLL the only one where the stylus play is intuitive, makes sense, and couldnt be done any other way Same game is the only one to make really great use of the dual screen, too. Mostly it only seems useful for having a built in inventory screen.
Bad enough touchpads are the future of computers and laptops and ipads whatnot (I LIKE not touching and scratching my screen, thank you) and force ruinous gameplay into my DS games... Forward progress is fine, and its inevitable... but I have yet to see a whole lot of examples where the games themselves are better for sake of having an interactive gimmick and not having a hardwired controller.

I agree with the motion control comment after Sony and Microsoft adapted motion controls and created PS Move and Kinect they didn't really do anything with them they didn't make any good games for them for the Kinect Star Wars will probably end up being the best thing to come out for it. And for PS Move they do have some PSM compatable shooters (Socom 4) and there is only a handfull of other games compatable with PSM but nothing note worthy.

When I first saw motion control like the connect what I was hoping to see was a FPS that the character when you move your finger the characters finger will move and when you put your hand behind your back to change your weapon your characters arm follows yours the same way. Do a dance and the characters does a dance too lol.
