      how do i make a video fade in on to a clip sort of like in this in the begin
      shanks is lightly faded on the clip heres link to show wat i mean

        Which clip did you mean, the one of him tossing the hat, or the one of him overlayed over the ocean? If you want to fade in to a clip, there's a feature for that in 'Tools' and then 'Video Effects'– you can fade in from black and fade in from white. There's probably another option in the 'Video Transitions' option but I haven't used it so I don't know how much control you have over the length of the fade.

        If you want to know how to get a clip to lay over another one for an extended period of time like the second Shanks clip, I really don't know, you'd probably need a more advanced editing program.
