I still think it's a recap with no no footage.
Feel free to prove me wrong Buuhan1.

This will be hard disproving you.
That was just so VA. They don't know what they are talking about…
VA=NOT CREDIBLE
Now why the fuck would the Voice Actors be unreliable when they work with the animation studio producing the movie?
Edit: Continuing on with what I said, think about it. Why would Toei be making the VAs record the characters' voices if they could just reuse footage, including the original recordings?
Urgh! Don't be a knucklehead, Lobster. -_-;
I bet Lobster's just disagreeing with y'all to get some attention.
Also, to me, the best One Piece movies are the ones that are the even number. Kind of like the Star Trek movies.
yeah, i used to think that, but 7 was REALLY good. not 4 or 6 good. but still really good.
I still need to see 7, but if it's puts 1, 3, and 5 to shame, I'll check it out.
7 had like, one scene in the middle where it showed potential, but just fell flat after that. And its art wasn't very good. Sucks that the same team looks like it's being used again.
It's like they thought that if they put in enough poorly-drawn fanservice and used the same tired old gags over and over again, the audience would be too distracted to realize that the movie wasn't very good.
To put it simply, 7 is for people who like boobs.
@Le:

Truth.
But on the note of the movie, this does look like it will be excellent. Arabasta has been of my favorite arcs since I started reading One Piece and whenever I go back to re-read I always get excited when I get to it. I am expecting good things from this.
@Le:

Why are you?
.
I dunno. Why am I?
That just made absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Anyways, I'm pretty certain this will be a great movie. Usually the even numbered movies are great.
Feel free to prove me wrong Buuhan1.
How about me.
I heard Oda and Usopp's VA declare that it's a new story and new animation. In person.
And as far as VA's not being reliable…....
Dude.....it's the animation.....how does it get made without them?
If I were you Buuhan I would relish in plastering that post to my sig if it wasn't blatantly against the spirit of the forums.
And Lobster, nice avatar. That image looks so familiar.
That VA just says things. They read off lines, most of the time over the phone. They aren't even allowed into animation studios. And Oda himself said "l leave the animation to the animators." So he basically doesn't know what he's talking about.
I never thought I would say this, but…
Oda is NOT a credible source when it comes to One Piece.

How can Oda and VAs not be a credible source? If they aren't credible nobody is. Somebody doesn't like to lose an argument.
Only the animators are credible.

In reference to the tv series. Oda usually plays a big role in the movies, designing the characters and whatnot.

Hahahahahahaha!
I'm curious, if Oda and the VAs aren't credible, who is?

Read off stuff over the phone? Why the hell would they need to redo their voice recordings and use the same footage over if they already have the voice recordings from the previous episodes? but still, read stuff over the phone?
I never thought I would say this, but…
Oda is NOT a credible source when it comes to One Piece.
And I suppose you are, considering that you claim that both the VA's AND Oda aren't credible and that the last fake spoiler was 130% Oda's work.
@Le:
Read off stuff over the phone? Why the hell would they need to redo their voice recordings and use the same footage over if they already have the voice recordings from the previous episodes?
Because the characters say different lines in different episides. I know they do this in America. Cartoon VAs sometimes read lines over the phones sometimes for episodes when they can't come it to work to do the voice recordings.
I'm curious, if Oda and the VAs aren't credible, who is?
I already told you, the ANIMATORS.
Besides, Oda was probably being sarcastic because it was obvious that their was no new animation because of the trailer.
Lobster, be logical.
It's a movie. They're not going to use tv-show footage for the entire movie.
You don't need the "animators" to tell you that. It's just common-sence.
Not to mention, they got offcial art that looks to use the movies art-style.
@Lobster:

You're not making any sense. You're saying that characters say different lines in different episodes. How would that change that they could just reuse the voices with the reused footage?
As for the recordings, I'm "fairly" certain they do it in group sessions, hence why it was so hard for them to record the
! Merry's death scene
I already told you, the ANIMATORS.

Why can't you accept that you're wrong? Why would Oda be sarcastic about new animation? A trailer is a short piece they throw together. Take Movie 7's trailer for instance. Quite a few scenes didn't make it into the movie.
If Oda's involvement with movies is fairly deep, I don't see why not to trust him.
Gosh, I hope I am proven wrong…
But now I'm just hoping that it's as well put together as Movie 7.
And Spambot. I will give you an example.
A new episode of Sponge Bob.
New story new lines.
In todays episode Mr. Krab says 4 lines
"How are you Spongebob"
"Where is my oatmeal"
"I will kill you"
"seven times?"
"bread basket"
Mr. Krabs VA is sick during the day they do voice recordings, so he says them over the phone
That is what I ment.
On another note, I can't remember all the movies, but aren't movies supposed to be in 16:9 widescreen, compared to a 4:3 fullscreen?
That was 5 lines, lobster.
I really see no point as to why you did that. They don't do recordings for episodes right before airing. They have to prepare them beforehand. Take One Piece episodes for example. They're done half a year before they're aired. I already mentioned an example in an earlier post.
Look.
-Oda confirmed it.
-Usopp's VA confirmed it.
-Films are 16:9, not 4:3 resolution.
Why can't you accept that it's been confirmed to have new animation?
We should end this argument because obviously Lobster works at Toei. I saw him there yesterday while on my way to Oda's house.
Hm… alright. It's not 16:9, but the ratio is not the resolution used by TV I believe.
I hope you all are right. Because if every frame is like those posted pics, then this movie will be amazing.
I forgot to say this, but seeing as to how the story will be slightly different, there will be a need for new footage.
@Le:
I forgot to say this, but seeing as to how the story will be slightly different, there will be a need for new footage.
Nope, less fotage. Because the movie is shorter then the entire arc. Then again, the movie might be completelly filler.
It's a slightly different story. There will be new footage if it's slightly different, but it's still a remake. Just like that Red Ribbon Army movie for Dragonball.
Lol, interesting discussion. Ah yes, that's a good example to use Lawliet.
Uploaded this D-51 recording vid (from Battle Franky) just because it's somewhat related to the discussion about recording sessions.
Ah, yes. Thanks Cinder for that.
Gosh, I hope I am proven wrong…
So Oda who works hand-in-hand with the animation Director and Producer, and the VA's who have provided the voices for the actual footage months and months ago, all felt the need to lie, in person on stage, to hundreds upon hundreds of OP fans about something as massive as a motion-picture film because they didn't have enough information.
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.
That's all I can say.
Lobster…. stop being a dumbass. You do this at the K-F forums too. It isn't a healthy habit.
Seriously, why would Toei want to show a movie that's entirely recylced footage? Just because this one is a re-cap doesn't necessarily mean that.
I'm sure the animation is done and redrawn without dragging the footage from some dusty Alabasta arc. I hope this movie follows closly to the manga without any fillers or story changes.
OK guys enough with this ridiculous talk about the movie being recycled animation. Wanna make a bet? If it's recycled animation, LPS gets to brag and put "I was right" in his sig. If he's wrong, he gets banned from the forum for a month.
CosmicDebris, did I ever mention that you're my favorite mod?
Alright, people, do you think that it's possible to have every frame look as cool and detailed as that poster?
I hope so, but wouldn't that take an enormous abount of time and money? And that's something Toei lacks currently.

I can't wait for that peaceful month.
only a little more than one month.
If you're right, I'll agree to be banned for one month.
GAH!!! NO one is banning anyone!!!
(grabs CosmicDebris and SpamBot)
(huggles)
We at APforumz are one big happy family!!~
Wow, Lobster I didn't think you could possibly annoy me more than you do at Toon Zone. Congrats.
Seriously, the movie is obviously going to have new animation. Oda and Yamaguchi wouldn't lie, and it is just common sense.
And more on topic, I'm looking forward to seeing what new stuff they put in this movie, it should be interesting.

I hope that it's stylized too. Like when Luffy punched Borat, in movie 6.
I just have a feeling that the new scenes will blow us out of the water. I personally think it's smart they aren't showing us new footage. It will be all the more suprise. Just IMAGING Luffy vs. Crocodile in this type of animation.
@Lobster:

Yeah, poor Borat..he was only taking a little bit of Grand Line knowledge to Cazaquistan.
